Duffin Custom Homes

I hired Duffin Custom Homes (AKA Duffin Design Build) to replace the handrails on 4 porches! The "workmanship" was atrocious! She admitted the work was horrible and she NEVER CAME BACK TO FIX IT! Now, I am stuck with the ugliest carpentry work I have ever seen! Huge gapping spaces in joints! Terrible cuts! And, my porches are DANGEROUS! I will need to replace the “stair job” on the long porch so no one gets hurt when it collapses $$$$! I will need to repair all the kebony decking that is already coming loose, so no one trips $$$$! I will have to have several posts reset to prevent further damage to my home $$$$! I will have to live with the UGLY and every time I go out on my porches I will feel disappointed and ripped off by this company. Theresa said it is her job to make people happy… she made me feel angry, disrespected, and ripped off! Do not let this company anywhere near your home or business! This company does not deserve even ONE STAR!

Duffin Homes is great to work with! We hired them to get our lakefront home ready to sell and they accomplished that with flying colors. They have subcontractors for every kind of task and all are trustworthy and professional.

A terrific experience. They brought top notch subs, great communication, and a pleasure to work with. Most of the work was done while we were traveling for the summer, so we did it over the phone and FaceTime!

We talked to several builders and ultimately decided on Duffin Custom Homes because Teresa was very responsive to our inquiries and was not at all daunted by our remodel/addition/barn construction project. As with any remodel, unexpected situations arose, but Teresa and Brian were able to adapt to changes on the fly. They, and her subs had critical creative solutions for a complicated remodel and major addition. The quality of construction and finishes was first rate. We are extremely pleased with the result and would not hesitate to hire Duffin Custom Homes again.

Duffin Construction put in an outdoor kitchen and also remodeled our master bath. Teresa and her crew did an excellent job on both projects

Teresa Duffin and Brian were the consummate professionals. They led us in the right direction providing sound advice and recommendations for us to make our decisions. Every trade they brought on site was top notch in their field, and several of those have replaced people I worked with for years--e.g. HVAC annual check now with Teresa's recommendation. She promised us a like new house and our almost 40 year old house is like new inside and out, visually and up to code. When things go wrong, and there are always issues on big jobs, Teresa and Brian made it right! Would work with them again no question.

I would highly recommend Duffin Custom Homes! Teresa has done several projects with our family over the years. She has incredible style and taste, but knows what is high quality vs, just highly priced. She's always been an advocate for us, keeping us informed of the status as well as transparent with budget/spend.

We had Teresa do some work at our house and It was completed on time. We introduced her to our daughter who was looking to build a custom home in Austin. Teresa failed to complete the work, the quality and workman ship is poor and sloppy. This matter is now in arbitration since she is not cooperating to complete the punch list work, fix defective material or service the warranty after they closed on the house in June 2018. Teresa refuses to share the financial information for this project with my daughter and has removed her access to Builder Trend (the software Teresa uses to track all building expenses) Very disappointed in her response and lack of communication to complete this project. I would not recommend Teresa to anyone in the state of Texas. Do not use this builder. Please feel free to contact me for more information.

My son used Teresa Duffin as their home builder in Dripping Springs, Texas. The house was on a very difficult lot to build, and by far she was the best builder and designer for the property. She is honest and trustworthy and very detailed. She works well with her clients and she is easy to reach. There is detail and quality in every part of the house and property. My husband was a builder and I am so impressed with her professionalism and her staff and sub contractors.

We hired Teresa after working with three other builders/designers to improve our recently purchased property in Dripping Springs. She made us feel confident and valued as a customer, so we choose to build with Duffin Custom Homes. This was our first time building a custom home, Teresa and her project manager Brian went above and beyond to help this process be as smooth as possible. When you have a 8 month custom project, some minor or major things can go wrong, but the few minor times we had a problem, Teresa made sure we were 100% satisfied with the outcome immediately. They were able to work on the fly with challenges and changes (that were mostly something I missed). This house is SOLID, excellent construction, energy efficient, beautiful floors (hardwood and tile), and overall great feeling to walk through. I highly recommend Duffin Custom Homes because she really cares and wants you to enjoy your new home!

Never again! I am shocked that Duffin would use our house within their portfolio of "recently completed projects" as the house is nowhere near completed (50+ items in warranty) with no response from the builder. Duffin has not been on site since October of 2018. We are actively suing her in arbitration for her failure to complete the project, her misappropriation of our construction funds, and her refusal to repair her deficient construction. Will not respond to our requests for completion or warranty work. Further, your "assertion" (out of the blue after 8 months; a couple of days prior to mediation) that we owe money has never been backed by any documentation. I would be happy to talk to anyone about our shockingly negative experience.

We had our flooring replaced and our bathroom fixtures updated and we were very pleased with the outcome and the cleanup! Would hire Teresa again! Highly recommend!
