Ellen Grasso & Sons gave us the most incredible home remodel and experience. After building our home 7 years ago and being disappointed in the process and results, we found Ellen, Martha and Clay to have an exceptional process from the first meeting all the way through the end. We task them with converting excess attic space into 1200 new square feet, adding two bathrooms, a 2nd laundry, a playroom, new stairwell, and a circular drive. They also helped enhance the structure with spray foam, tankless water heaters, and hardwoods. The creativity and ideas they brought to the project, to managing through a very challenging roof and many unknowns, to the attention to detail at every step was everything we hoped for and more. At every step they work to manage the project, limiting the stress level on the clients. Our project manager John, was always responsive answering every question and staying ahead of the timeline. We are so grateful for our new home and would never consider any other builder to add to our home or build new again! Thank you for everything to Ellen, Martha, Clay and John.

I had the pleasure of recently working with Ellen and Rob Grasso on a gut renovation of my 8000 s/f home and the results exceeded all expectations. Ellen and Rob were both very solution oriented, creative, detailed and helped me get the most out of my investment in upgrading my home. I highly recommend choosing Ellen Grasso & Sons for your next new build or remodel project! We are very happy with the beautiful home they built for us! I worked with Rob Grasso on the project and he was good at listening to the ideas I had and helped make them come to life. Sometimes my ideas were expensive and he would recommend alternatives to achieve the same result. For example, I wanted a lot of heavy trim for the crown molding in the Dining Room. There was a way to use sheetrock and paint that achieved the same awesome look, but for less. Ellen & Rob do have the homebuilder's best interest at heart. They truly want to build the best home they can for their client and that does show through day to day. For the above reasons we've decided to ask them to build another home on University Blvd for us. We are in the foundation stage now! We interviewed eight Park Cities Dallas builders and chose Ellen Grasso & Sons. I think it speaks volumes that we chose them again!

Ellen Grasso is the greatest thing since sliced bread! We are at the tail end of a major remodel and Ellen has been amazing! I never thought this would be fun, but it is. To see a house transformed is a beautiful thing. As a small business owner myself where I am ultimately responsible for everything that happens in my office, I so appreciate and value the commitment that Ellen has shown on a daily basis throughout this entire process. I could feel her intensity and desire to make this project right! She has consistently put my interests first at every corner. She has kept the project on budget and on time, as promised. The only unexpected thing I encountered was that everything was so perfect, I wanted her to do more! I have always heard from many people multitudes of horror stories about their experiences with various contractors. This has not been the case with Ellen. I have never once encountered anything but integrity and commitment in the process. I almost want to do it again.

We purchased a spec home by Ellen Grasso & Sons 14 years ago when we first moved to Dallas. When we decided to build our own home in 2017, I knew immediately that I would build with Ellen Grasso & Sons given her responsiveness with our current home. We dealt with her son, Clay, on the new house and he has been nothing but professional, organized, and responsive. There was rarely a day where he wasn't on the job site coordinating the subs. The trades are quality long time partners (the painter did my original house). If a problem arose, they were quick to find a solution. I appreciated their input on designs and alternatives to keep the costs down. Even though rainfall caused us to get a late start pouring our foundation, Clay quickly made up the time to get us back on schedule. I would absolutely build with them again in the future.

I had seen a few amazing houses with Ellen Grasso’s sign on the front. I thought I probably couldn’t afford hiring her. As I started my project, her name kept coming up from different sources, as in “You can’t go wrong with Ellen”. So I called – expecting someone difficult to reach, complicated to communicate with (maybe a West End accent) plus glitz and bling. Ellen was everything I did not expect – easy to talk to, unassuming, aware of my budget and timeline, friendly, interested in my project. After our first meeting, it was clear Ellen Grasso was the way to go and we started working with one of her sons, Rob. Besides managing the project, Rob had an influence in many details that go between the architect drawing and construction. Ellen’s interior designer helped us pick most of tile, countertops and fixtures for bathrooms, easing up on our list of decisions. We ended up with a house that we really enjoy living in – yet another amazing house by Ellen. Construction time for a 5000 sf house was 10 months, and we ended up 2.5% above Ellen’s first budget. I do not believe there is any other builder around Park Cities and North Dallas that can do as well.

I am an Interior Designer & have worked with many of the high end builders in Dallas. Ellen & I crossed paths many years ago on a client's project & I chose her to build my own house! My wife & I were referred to Ellen Grasso, after our initial home builder walked off the job. After interviewing about a dozen new builders, we chose Ellen. She provided us with over 30 references, and everyone we spoke with had nothing but great things to say about her. They all said, she was "on time and on budget". After spending the past year working with Ellen, I can confidently say that her great reputation is well deserved! Ellen spent a tremendous amount of time helping us with our selections & budgets because we were very much upside down from our first builder. We feared that we could no longer complete our "Dream House". Ellen works with her two sons, Clay and Rob, and has a great team of project managers, as wells as support staff. Scott Anderson was our project manager, and we could not have been happier with him. He was very attentive to our job and was always responsive when we contacted him. Ellen also has an in-house designer named Jennifer, who is also very helpful in guiding you through many of the selections that can be overwhelming. Ellen was very much involved in our project and always made herself available to us, whether it be by phone, text or email. After being taken advantage of by our first builder, Ellen was a breath of fresh air. She helped us make smart decisions on where to spend our money, while being mindful of our budget. Ellen was very transparent and honest. We got to see each and every invoice that was paid on our house. This was not the case with our first builder. Furthermore, Ellen helped us revise certain design elements of the house that our first builder said couldn't be done. Ellen took what was a "Nightmare" home building experience and turned it into a positive one! My only regret is that we didn't get to start with her from the beginning. Ellen would have saved us a tremendous amount of time, money and grief! My wife and I are very grateful to Ellen for ultimately building us our "Dream House"!

Ellen Grasso and Sons put an addition on our 1934 home. It was a second floor study and a screened in porch. We love it! They did a beautiful job. Very professional, seamless transition from the old to new.

Ellen and her son Rob helped us on our full new build. They did a great job, were attentive to our needs and requests and always resolved issues that came up in a timely manner. They build a quality product and have the experience to guide you to the right choices. We were on time and pretty close to on budget, which most home buyers wants. Its not to say that there were not times of stress, as there are always surprises that come up in any home project, but they handled everything with professionalism and reasonableness, which I appreciated.

Ellen helped us on a semi-major remodel and did an exceptional job. She came in at budget, both in terms of cost and time estimate. She set expectations properly and adjusted quickly to the surprises of tearing down walls from the portion of the house that dates back to the 1950s. We just completed a remodel of our home with Ellen Grasso and are extremely happy with the process and results. I don't think many people can say the finished AHEAD of schedule and UNDER budget...but a decent amount. We moved our kitchen and laundry room and several walls in addition to updating the master bathroom and closet. Ellen was our project manager for the entire process and is extremely responsive no matter the time of day or the issue. I never struggled to get help or get her on the phone when there was an issue. I would highly recommend Ellen and her team to anyone building or doing a significant remodel.

I have been enjoying my home by Ellen Grasso for a year now. I can only rave and rave about every aspect of my experience. Having seen 10-12 of her houses, it is clear that each is stunning, unique and top quality! What puts her over the top is that she comes to the table with a life of experience both as a builder and a family person. Ellen is inherently nurturing and wants to see her client happy, she listens and has an uncanny eye for detail and practicality and beauty. Also, importantly, her company was up front and transparent. They stuck to the budget and to the schedule and were always available, even for very small things. I have been living in my EG house for about 3 months. I can not express how happy my family and I are with our new home. When you walk into a EG house, you can feel and see the QUALITY that goes into her homes. She does not skimp on anything. She has the "woman's touch" and has thought about everything, from the lockers in the mudroom for my three boys, to the outlets in the kitchen island, to the outlets for holiday decor on the outside. My friends and family love coming to the house because it is bright, open, and beautiful. This house was already completely built when we bought it, but there is nothing I would change about it. I love all the flooring, light fixtures, and counters she thoughtfully selected. Still months after closing, if I have any questions or issues, she or her son will answer my text and address any concerns right away. I feel BLESSED to live in an Ellen Grasso & Sons house!

Ellen Grasso and Sons remodeled our master bathroom and closet. Very fair, super attention to detail. Was always focused on the quality of the product and how it was delivered. Responsive and attentive. Best contracting experience I've ever had.

We did the seemingly impossible: built a custom house from afar with a builder chosen off the Internet. A recipe for disaster...unless the builder is Ellen Grasso! I cannot imagine having gone through this process with any other builder. We have been in our house for seven months and are pleased with the result. Is everything perfect, exactly as we wished? Has it been smooth sailing? No, but to expect that would be unrealistic, and some aspects of our house are better than we could have imagined. The Grasso team guided our choices for the entire project (from lot selection to paint colors), always mindful of getting the best result at the best price. Also, they are following up on issues that are surfacing in the warranty period. I especially appreciate their almost immediate responses to my questions because when you build a house, every little issue seems a big one! This review would not be complete if I didn't add that Ellen and her team are people of impeccable integrity and they are simply the nicest people you will meet. We are grateful to Ellen, Clay (our project manager), and Jen (who assisted with all our design choices.

From start to finish, Ellen provided excellent feedback, listened to our needs, managed the project well- every step of the way, and she was very accessible. Our building experience with Ellen Grasso & Sons was the epitome of what you hope you will find when you contract with someone to build your perfect home. We interviewed ten well-known builders in the Dallas area and she stood out above the rest from the beginning. After purchasing a lot, we worked closely with Ellen and our architect on our plans. She made herself available at every meeting and was very integral in the planning process, bringing many ideas to the table concerning such things as energy efficiency and best use of space and function. The construction ran extremely smooth, on time and on budget. Her knowledge and experience was invaluable; she provided a great deal of input on which materials may be best and which to avoid, where to splurge and where to save, and her keen eye for detail and design aesthetic was evident from the beginning. Her vast resources brought us in touch with sources for hard to find materials, custom lighting and furnishings - consistently at a competitive price point. The reno of my home started as a small job and, as so many do, grew over time. Ellen was flexible and adaptable to the changes in scope as well as a couple of changes with the design elements. I found her comments to proposed design concepts to be, practical, tasteful and mindful of an appropriate use of my resources. The overall workmanship was excellent. The inevitable small corrections that always occur on jobs of this magnitude were always resolved willingly and in a timely manner. My house is 90+ years old and nothing that was discovered along the way exceeded her expertise nor seemed to exasperate her. Ellen was always kept her word and was responsive, even keeled and professional in all our dealings. She turned our house into a home. I could not have asked for a better contractor!

I have worked with Ellen Grasso & Sons on 3 projects over the years and am about to start another. I have been in the house that the Lams built shortly before they moved in and saw that it was beautifully finished out and well-built. I even spoke to the Lams, who enthusiastically endorsed Ellen as their builder. This was only a few weeks before they moved. I can't imagine that they don't appreciate the amount of work that went into their house. The thought that crossed my mind is this: if they wanted everything completely finished, why didn't they wait another few weeks to move or why didn't they stop making changes so that work could be finished? When I saw the house, Madelaine was trying to decide what she wanted in her powder room which was still just a shell. I have spoken to Ellen and learned they are still adding to the job.

WOW - so much fun to build a house with the right team! We hired Ellen Grasso & Sons to build our new 5,500 SF house and are already looking forward to building another as our needs change. Our experience couldn’t have been any better. Her team was fabulous from the architect to the painter to everyone else along the way! Without fail Ellen or one of her partners came by our job every day to check on the job progress and go over details with the subs. They were extremely responsive and answered texts, emails and phone calls within a matter of hours - one of my pet peeves. Because of their attention to detail and organization, our job ran smoothly – we almost felt as if the house could have been built in our absence. However, it was so much fun that we’re glad we were there to enjoy it. So many friends had warned us of the dreaded change order - we did make a few changes but were fully informed of the impact on the budget and the completion date before approving changes. They had also told us to double the estimated completion time. Even though we ran into a 6 week delay waiting on some tile material, the project was completed in less than 12 months after the permit was issued. Initially we were a little nervous about building a custom home because it’s such a huge investment of time and money but now we are hooked! Our plans are to build at least one more house in the next few years and we know without hesitation Ellen Grasso & Sons will be our builder – they are absolutely the best!

We had a rough start but once we've moved in Ellen was able to address some of the issues we had at the time of our move in. Overall one year later we are very happy.
