“We had an excellent home building experience with Parker Homes. This was our first time building a custom home and we were very fortunate to work with Troy and Lisa Parker for this project. They were fun, gracious people, easy to work with and they helped to make the process enjoyable and very rewarding. We ended up with a beautiful, well built home that we love and appreciate every day. Here are some of the qualities Troy and Lisa exhibited that made our experience so special. The communication with them was outstanding. From the first time we met with them, throughout the entire build we always felt close to the project, even though we were not living in the area at the time. The Parkers listened to our desires, questions and concerns and were always there to offer their insights based on their experience. For example, we were VERY protective of the trees on our lot and the Parkers worked extensively with us and the architect to make sure we saved every tree possible. During the construction process, they provided thorough, weekly updates to let us know what was happening at the job site. Again, this was important since we were living 250 miles away at the time. If anything unexpected came up, Troy or Lisa were very prompt notifying us to get all issues resolved quickly and completely. The Parker team was very good at keeping the build process running smoothly and efficiently. We were never waiting on permits, approvals or scheduling to keep the project moving. They were on top of things and again, were very prompt to inform us of potential issues or impending decisions relating to the build. Parker Homes is also very focused on providing a high quality home. They met with us at the home site whenever we needed to talk through a challenge or just to review progress. Our special requests were handled with care and professionalism. The subcontractors used by Parker were skilled and diligent craftsmen. From foundation to plumbers, framers, electricians, cabinet makers and more, all took pride in their work and it showed. After talking with some of our neighbors and hearing their stories of difficulties with their builders, it just makes us more grateful to have found Troy and Lisa Parker to make our first build a great experience.”

We also can’t say enough about Anya, our amazing designer. I can be very particular and indecisive, which can be daunting when you’re choosing every single detail of a custom home. Anya was incredibly patient, yet she kept us moving forward and helped us make decisions with confidence. Our meetings with her were always fun, productive, and left us excited about the next steps. Genuine Custom Home made what could have been a stressful process feel smooth and enjoyable. “After talking to several architects, I selected the Neel Morton to design my new home near Dripping Springs. From the initial planning discussions through construction, Neel and Dax Morton were easy to work with, responsive to my ideas and suggestions, and very knowledgeable about the green building techniques that were very important to me. Following our initial discussions and site visit to develop the design program, they prepared a conceptual design that captured my “must have” features in a layout and orientation that avoided damage to the numerous trees on the lot. Proceeding to final design, Neel and Dax incorporated details and materials that addressed my desire for an open and airy feel taking advantage of natural light and breeze. They also addressed my requirement for energy efficient with excellent recommendations for doors and windows, lighting, insulation, on-demand water heaters and more. The house has a thoroughly modern appearance while incorporating traditional hill country materials – stone, wood, metal roof. Neel recommended several local contractors and handled the bidding. During construction Neel and Dax worked with the contractor to promptly address any questions. Building went smoothly and the contractor commented that that Neel and Dax’s well-prepared plan set was instrumental in allowing him to complete the project on schedule. I had a great experience working with Neel and Dax and watching the house progress from ideas to plans to move-in ready. Having lived in the house for a while now, I can say that life flows and functions easily here. Everyone who has seen it agrees that this is a unique and beautifully designed home.”
