I waited almost a year before writing my review because as much as I love my home I thought it was important to see how issues would be handled. Well, I’m glad I did because now I can say that Herrington Homes has done a beautiful job and has gone above and beyond my expectations. Responsive, professional and kind staff and an owner who stands behind his word and promises. I’d definitely build again with Herrington but I’m never moving again! Love my Herrington Home.

Can't say enough about the Herrington team. The most considerate professional team of custom builders I've ever worked with. In love with this home! So are my friends because they keep coming to visit. LOL

Aside from my wife, Becky, and young son, Griffin, there is nothing I am more proud of than our family's gorgeous custom coastal style house, designed and constructed by Craig and Mary Johnson of Herrington Classic Homes. Our 'seastar'-colored house is a home in every sense of the word and is the best possible blend of what Becky and I like. The Johnsons encouraged us to nestle the home within our wooded lot and worked with us to mix the high-end modern touches they build in as standard (like crown and chair rail) with a rustic feel that's important to me (stone fireplace). Craig and Mary and the staff at Herrington have, in spades, all of the most desirable traits a buyer could want in a home builder/designer. During the contracting process they're well organized and reasonable. Through design they're creative, accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful. During construction the attention to detail is unparalleled and they're reassuring if any doubts creep in! For our place, they collaborated with us on site to design and lay out our property ensuring the home works well with the other elements we planned concurrently (a pool, outdoor shower, deck and fence). Upon completion, warranty concerns have been dealt with efficiently and are never debated. Throughout, their team has been accessible, responsive, flexible, reliable and highly professional. In my life, there has been no process or product that I've been happier with than our home and our journey building with Herrington. I recommend them highly and am excited for anyone building with them! We were thrilled to move in but sad as we now see less of our friends, Craig and Mary. This company is the best of the best in our area in our view. Even years from now our first move when we turn into our driveway will be to pinch ourselves. Could this really be our home? Yes, it really is - thanks to Craig and Mary of Herrington Classic Homes!

We were very fortunate to find the perfect lot in the Seagrove neighborhood. My husband wanted the highest lot in the development so that we would not have to worry about flooding Craig was very patient with my husband with the details of the foundation that we wanted. We were so happy with the helpfulness of everyone (especially Mary) that was involved in the building of our beautiful beach house. After we moved in, Bill Sellars was to be our contact with any issues. He handled them with patience and professionalism, especially when I was crazy because my dining room light was crooked. I would recommend working with Herrington Classic Homes, it was a smooth and easy build!

Herrington Classic Homes remodeled a family beach house that my family had owned since the 70's. It had been built in the 50's and all owners had done their own work. Nothing was to code and only three walls were kept of the original structure. The house looks like a brand new home now. Folks renting in the neighborhood are still talking about the change in the house and they finished it over a year ago. My mother who worked with builders as a real estate agent for over forty years was impressed. She said that some builders were good with structure and some were good with finishes, but they were great with all of it and she said that was rare. The before and after pictures are unbelievable and we have them displayed in the house for all to see when they visit. They were easy to work with and helped us through the planning stage to completion. I would definitely work with them again.

When we initially decided to go the custom home route, our friends and families all warned us of the common pitfalls in building a house - hidden and last minute costs, delayed timelines, you name it. But because of the precision and professionalism of Herrington Classic Homes, our experience could not have been more positive and we couldn't be happier with our new home - completed as promised down to the exact date! And we can't say enough about the owner/designer, Mary, who helps you pick out all your home selections and serves as your liaison while your home is being built. She has an amazing design sense and was always so courteous and attentive to our needs. And owner/builder, Craig Johnson, truly takes pride in every beautiful home he builds and in ensuring his customers are happy. So if you chose Herrington to build your home, don't be surprised if you see Craig on your building site over the weekend inspecting the progress with a fine-toothed comb! Because of these reasons and more, you will not find a more buttoned-up and talented builder team in all of Wilmington.
