“I will give the short version of my review first, and then for those who want the play-by-play, they can go on to read the long version. Short Version: If you have property in Carteret County and want a beautiful custom home built to your specs at a fair price, finished early, and managed by an gifted and experienced General Contractor and Carpenter, Blue Green Construction is your only choice. We couldn’t be happier with our home. Long Version: My wife and I dreamed of a waterfront home. In 2018, we bought a plot on the North River in Carteret County, hoping to build someday. We cleared the land, installed riprap to prevent erosion, and saved for construction while seeking builders. We contacted many local builders and modular home firms, but were disheartened. Some were dismissive outright (looking at you, Brimco), and others were just didn't seem motivated to build. Modular homes didn’t match our vision, and customizing them raised costs and timelines to levels similar to stick-built homes. My wife finaly found Blue Green Construction in Morehead City online. Bruce, the owner, called back in 20 minutes, offering to meet us on a Saturday despite our three-hour distance. In May 2024, we met Peter, their project manager, who showed us a stunning nearby build. At our plot, we discussed design and budget. When I asked if they could build our dream home in our price range, Peter said, “Yes, I think we can.” Thus began our partnership. In June 2024, we started design with Peter. From conversatiosn and just rough sketches, he created plans via email, masterfully nailing our vision by the fourth draft in three weeks. His estimate by late June fit our budget. Loan underwriting took 60 days (lender’s timeline), while Blue Green worked on permits, delayed by Carteret County Health Department’s slow 60-day process—be warned. Once approved on October 1, 2024, Blue Green got county authorization in a week. On October 15, 2024, they broke ground, targeting June 1, 2025. They hit milestones weekly: pilings, framing, roofing, drywall. And they coordinated well with our lender, earning praise. By Christmas 2024, the house was framed; by January 2025, roofing was done, and drywall began. Neighbors noted the crew’s 10–12-hour days, weekend work, and politeness. Peter managed the project expertly, calling my wife two to three times weekly with updates, photos, and next steps. He was always accessible, honest, and offered expert advice. We visited monthly, seeing great progress. By April 2025, the house was nearly done, within budget except for a pricier septic system mandated by the Health Department. By May 1, 2025, finishing touches remained. On Memorial Day weekend 2025, we did our final walk-through with Peter, moving in two weeks early. The house is stunning, with top-notch craftsmanship. Blue Green’s process was a pleasure. For a custom home in Carteret County, Blue Green should be the first people you call.—you won’t be disappointed.”

“The Konrady team has done an amazing job for us on our home in Landfall. Starting in October of 2023 and completing in January 2024, their team did an interior update/refresh/renovation of our 2013 home that included: paint refresh throughout, all new hardware, fixtures, countertops, pulling carpet and putting in hardwoods then refinishing, demo to the master bath, new master closet system, new kitchen dry bar and updating of all cabinetry and updating some of the built-in cabinetry to be more current. Then From August 2024-December 2024, they did a complete front and back yard landscaping project including: Updating our screened in porch, adding a Struxure pergola, outdoor patio with kitchen, pool with various features, putting green, intricate concrete work with turf features around the pool, all new landscaping, fencing, etc. They transformed our already attractive outdoor yard to a vacation paradise. From start to finish with both projects, they kept us up to date and the communication was excellent. They utilize BuilderTrend which is an online website that you are able to see photos/updates/messaging/timeline/etc. Tanner and Will and the rest of their team are consumate professionals. Everyone is super polite, clean cut, happy to be there and enjoy their occupation. We did not meet a single trade that did not love working with Konrady. That says a lot about the type of people the Konrady's are and how they take care of their employees, trades, team. If we were ever to build a home from scratch or renovate another home, their would be the first and only one on the list.”
Landmark Homes, NC

“Diane and John Rithie and I go back a long way. We have known one another and worked together in various ways for nearly 20 years. Not only on their building of new homes and remodels, but also side by side in civic functions. They possess a genuine caring and professional attitude in all their endeavors. As a sub-contractor for point of entry and point of use water treatment, I visit many job sites, multiple times during the construction process. Diane and John Ritchie's attention to detail is unsurpassed. Landmark Homes is definitely a company where "The left hand always knows what the right hand is doing!" Their personal touch is carried throughout every project. The high level of quality communication we enjoy is because Diane and John work hard to please their clients, yet they do not disrespect their subs in any way. This goes a long way towards achieving total satisfaction for their, clients and home owners. They are very helpful, willing to roll up their sleeves and committed to producing a quality product. When I visit one of their jobs, one of them is usually onsite. Their commitment to quality in every process is one I wish I could achieve. John is a Past President of the Carteret County Home Builders Association, which is a testament to his commitment to the building industry. When you choose Landmark Homes, you can rest assured, Diane and John Ritchie are going to deliver only the best!”
