My wife and I hired J&N Co. for a serious kitchen renovation. I had heard positive feedback from friends who have high expectation levels in terms of design, craftsmanship, materials and service. We met with Nicole, whose professionalism and expertise separated her from any competition and made our decision to move forward easy. We never had any regrets. She gave us the vision and guidance we required and impeccable service throughout. In fact, she was so responsive and informative I am using her team for future projects -- outdoor landscaping, third floor attic build out, etc. The J&N team is top notch and knows how to build rapport and add value to any small or large scale project. The Boston renovation market must be hyper-competitive and busy because most quality contractors won’t even return a phone call. This was not the case with J&N Design Build. Once John arrived for an initial consult we knew we had found our team. He is highly creative and suggested a number of simple design elements to amplify the appearance and value of our kitchen/bath renovation all within budget. We had a detailed proposal within 4 days and our renovation took 7 weeks from start to finish, which is exactly what had been promised. John has a very professional crew of sub-contractors and there was never a day when a team was idle. After hearing renovation horror stories from our friends we were astounded at the crisp execution of the project plan. Since we were living amidst our renovation, we were particularly appreciative of J&N’s courtesy in ensuring the work space was as immaculate as possible. Working with a design/builder also ended up being the perfect solution for us, particularly since the designer in question is John’s wife! Nicole is excellent at sourcing materials. Whether it be exquisite slabs of marble, cabinets or tile – she is very well connected in the local market and passes the value of these relationships onto her customers. She was immediately in tune to our transitional/vintage aesthetic and presented fantastic options for our consideration. White subway tile with pearl gray grout for the kitchen back splash? Perfect! J&N is professional, visionary and collaborative. Most importantly, they added predictability and precision to a process that is often very stressful and chaotic.
