Jim Scott and Sons Builders

Jim Scott and Sons built our home in the M-Streets of Dallas in 2017. My wife and were in a complicated position: first time home buyers who had been living in apartments since college, and remote buyers who were new to Dallas. We had been searching for a home for almost three months. We felt as if we had exhausted all available options in our target neighborhoods. Our realtor suggested that we check out a home that was still under construction in the neighborhood between 75 and Greenville Ave. She mentioned that the firm -- Jim Scott and Sons -- had built her own home in Highland Park. I had seen her home in Highland Park and had been struck by the blend of modern design and character-rich details and warmth. I was excited about the chance to own a home like hers. When my wife and I came to the still-then-under-construction home, we met Peter Scott and he walked us through the property. From the first few minutes of seeing the home, my wife and I felt that this was the home for us. For instance, they had preserved the original wood from the 1920's in the front room, but added tremendously to the original's home's size. The facade is in keeping with the history of the neighborhood, and the kitchen is stylish, well-appointed and contemporary. We're delighted with every feature of the home, and happy with each decision they made. They transformed an already fine study into the study of my dreams, a room modeled after one of the private study carrels in the library of my alma mater. We have literally been stopped in the street by our neighbors half a dozen times since we moved in because they've wanted to compliment our home. And they've only seen the exterior! I, my wife, and our infant son love our home, and feel very lucky to have moved into a house built by Jim Scott and Sons. Their professionalism has been impeccable. Each question has been answered swiftly, and the rare question or request we've had with the home has been resolved the day of or the day after. It's rare to find a firm that possesses the talent , experience and taste to build homes that merge contemporary tastes with a sense of history. But Jim Scott & Sons did exactly that for us. I can offer no higher recommendation.

We would and have recommended Jim Scott and Sons to anyone of our friends. Our experience with this builder far exceeded our expectations. As with any project that involves hiring a contractor, our typical experience has always left us feeling very underwhelmed to say the least. With Jim Scott and Sons, we felt like we were important and really treated respectfully and fairly the entire time. Whenever there was any kind of change or hiccup in our build, Daniel always made it right. Most importantly, they stayed on budget AND ON TIME! This company knows the true meaning of keeping a customer for life.

We enjoyed our experience working with Jim Scott and Sons Builders on two bathroom remodeling projects in our home. We were very pleased with their work, and especially noted the professionalism of their crew. They stayed on the discussed timeline and have even continued to be helpful following the completion of the work for minor repairs and needs that have arisen. We would recommend this company.

I was so impressed by Jim Scott and Sons Builders! They helped me renovate my garage and by the end I practically wanted to move in. They were always just a phone call away. Their dedication to excellent work and workmen is incredible. Everyone who came to work at the house was knowledgeable and respectful. Daniel, Ben and Peter made me feel like a priority even when they had many other projects going. I would recommend them for any project!

Jim Scott and Sons did a fantastic job. Their attention to detail, work ethic and eye for design helped bring our space to life. We gave them a tight deadline and budget. They worked within both of those parameters.

I purchased a 1950s ranch and had several rooms which needed to be updated. Everything from ceilings raised, walls moved, new floors, hvac, plumbing etc. It was my first time renovating a home so I was a bit nervous about the process. Bottom line, Jim Scott and Sons did a fabulous job for me! They were very professional, listened to me and what I wanted to accomplish, presented ideas based on their experience, kept me fully informed of progress, when issues arose they were up front with me and provided appropriate solutions, and they were direct about the cost and kept things within budget. Quality of their work was top notch! I couldn't be more happy with their services and am extremely pleased with how my home turned out.

The Scotts have been great to work with on our build! As Jim said when we were shopping for a builder there is always a Scott on the job and they take accountability for every step of the process and for their sub contractors. Daniel Scott has been in charge of our project and one of the things we have appreciated so much has been the communication. I also have to say that they treat your budget with respect while making sure you get the absolute highest quality. It is clear to me that they have a passion for what they are doing and that their ethics are beyond reproach. One of the things Daniel and his brother Peter told us going into the build was that they strive to create a relationship with the home owners that lives past the project. I have no reservations about recommending Jim Scott and Sons.

Daniel Scott of Jim Scott and Sons came and did a thorough consultation for us at our home for a kitchen remodel. He caught a number of things we had not even thought of and in the end had us more excited than ever to do a project with JSS!
