The project included custom carpentry, and the craftsmanship is truly beautiful. The master carpenters took pride in their work and were clearly invested in the final result. At any point, if I wanted to adjust something or explore a better option, their response was always, “Yes, no problem, we can do that.” I was especially grateful for the attention to detail demonstrated by my construction manager. She frequently offered thoughtful suggestions that improved the overall functionality of the space. One small example: she recommended relocating a USB-C outlet to better support how I planned to use my office. She made many small adjustments, that I had not thought of, that made a big difference in the use of limited space. She also made a conscious effort to help me save money whenever possible. Throughout the entire project, the consistent message from every team member was clear: they genuinely cared about the final outcome, and it shows in every detail. Every person who worked on my home was professional, thoughtful, and highly skilled. Perhaps most impressively, and something that feels almost unheard of in construction, the project was completed on time and on budget. While I chose to add a few upgrades along the way, all costs were fully transparent and clearly presented before any decisions were finalized. Transparency is invaluable in a home remodel, and Melton Design Build excels in this area. I have a 1908 bungalow house in Whittier and was looking to make the bungalow a master suite which required adding another bathroom, moving walls for more space, installing skylights and adding closets. The existing stairway to the bungalow was dangerous to say the least. Now when I walk down the new staircase I just cannot believe how nice and safe they are. Such an improvement. The bathroom is more than I could have hoped for as far as size and functionality - it's beautiful Becky did a great job on using the space to the fullest.
