We built our home with Luxe Custom Homes in 2012. The design team was wonderful to work with, the subs they used were very helpful and informative, and the rest of the team was knowledgeable and easy to get along with. Hats off especially to their interior designer, Cheyenne, Customer Service Manager, Kurt, and Construction Manager, Eric.
Our project was anticipated to take around 90 days to complete and finished relatively close to that timeline. Our budget was kept close to the originally decided upon price and the only thing that moved that number were the upgrades that we decided to throw in while the project was already underway.
Owner, Robert Leslie, has business contacts throughout the area who he likes to utilize for the building materials, supplies, and finishings. The majority of these were great. We received all of our lighting, appliances, faucets, etc from Ferguson here in Fargo. The women at Ferguson were A++! They absolutely knew their products, assisted with selecting quality pieces within our budget, and followed up anytime there was a piece of business left unfinished at the time our meetings were concluded. Floor to Ceiling provided our cabinetry, carpeting, counter tops, showers, flooring, etc. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!! If there was one piece of our home we were dissatisfied with this would be it. Everything was an upgrade with them and not by a small margin. Had we done a bit more research before going into this process we would have shopped around and guaranteed, saved a bundle of money and gotten more superior products put into our home. While what we have is nice... We gladly would have spent more money on a higher quality product had we known then what we know now.
Our project with Luxe Custom Homes cost roughly $25K more by utilizing them than a smaller operation. However, their woodwork, finishings (such as seamless steel siding, dual sump pumps, stonework, etc - all of which is included and not considered an upgrade) and turnaround time are what drove the price up. When comparing our project with others who have also recently just built we have been told that we received a far superior completed product than others out there and the fact that our project completed on time is almost unheard of in this market so that too was a plus.
Rob Leslie and team do a nice job. They anticipate future needs or desires of a homeowner and include these things in their base price so that they are already included in the project before you have a scenario pop up in which you would have wished you have thought of these things (such as floor drains in the second floor laundry and garage - which I was shocked to find out that other builders consider these things an upgrade). They were very available while our project was underway and quick to follow up if we had needs after we had gotten settled in. I would definitely use them again in the future.
