I truly cannot say enough good about Martineau Homes. They made the process so painless that my husband and I stay married through the build! We had very different ideas (I was all about fun and my husband was all about function) of what we both wanted, but somehow they came together and we ended up with our dream home. It is pretty shocking that upon completion how very little we would do differently. I think this is because Chris, Scott, Karen, and Jim have so much experience and commitment to building exactly what you want. This shows from the very beginning in the custom binder complete with every detail of your home. I never felt the need to babysit our house while being built. I knew that Jim, our superintendent was on site daily, to make sure there were no questions or problems. If there was ever a question, we were consulted before the work was allowed to resume. I about died when Karen and Scott told me that we would have a weekly meeting to make selections and review any changes made. The meetings actually ended up being one of my favorite appointments of the week (I probably need to get more of a social life)! In a matter of a few hours each week, before I knew it, we had picked everything out and our beautiful home was built. I loved the fact the we were not nickel and dime'd when it came to changes. Martineau's bid reflects the kind of craftsmanship you would expect in a custom home. The subcontractors are held to a very high standard. I felt like Martineau Homes was very honest and was always looking out for our best interest. The phrase "bang for your buck" became something that was used often. While doing upgrades on our previous home, I asked every subcontractor who they would recommend to build a custom home and without fail, every one said Martineau Homes. We got multiple bids from other custom homebuilders, but none were thorough enough to make a decision. Once we decided to go with Martineau Homes, we never looked back and have been beyond thrilled!

Who says building has to be difficult? If you want a pleasant experience with a professional, knowledgeable, honest, and friendly team look no further. They have a process like no other. I never felt stressed with making decisions because of their scheduling and team help. I always felt I was a pretty good decorator on my own but their staffed decorator, Karen was so much help, I just loved my weekly field trips with her picking out all the finishes for the house. The relationship did not stop after the job was completed. They were there to fix any bugs and I would not hesitate for a moment if I felt they needed to fix anything else even after 3 years. ( although all is great) We had watched Chris' homes go up in the area for over 10 years, and knew we wanted him to build our final (dream) home. We have not regreted a moment, and absolutely LOVE our home.

After getting bids from several builders, we decided to hire Martineau to build our custom home. We could not be more pleased. I've talked to so many neighbors and friends who have had negative experiences building their custom homes. I can honestly say that we didn't have one negative experience working with Martineau. They were amazing to work with! The entire experience was positive. We had been working with a different builder in the design phase however, our home plans were not yet complete when we hired Martineau. Chris actually flew to California to meet with our former builder's architect to complete the plans. The foreman (Lynn) was great and kept everything on schedule. I can't say enough about how much we loved working with Karen in the design aspect of the home! She is so great and really helped us to keep a balance between luxury and livability. I would highly recommend Martineau to anyone who is seeking to build a beautiful home!

We hired Martineau Homes to build our home in 2012. They had a professional staff that serviced us wonderfully. Their foreman, Jim Stephenson, was excellent to work with. He took care of details and listened to our concerns and gave excellent suggestions. We appreciated his work ethic and honesty. He was very prompt in returning calls and giving us a schedule of when our decisions needed to be made. He worked well with all the sub-contractors and everyone he came in contact with. Their designer, Karen Bailey, was so helpful to us. Her ideas and wisdom were priceless. She could see concerned with different layout of cabinets or traffic flow and made changes that dramatically made a positive impact in our home. She had a great relationship with all the suppliers that we met with and they treated us with respect and professionalism. Chris, the owner made sure all went smoothly and kept things on track. All in all, building our home with Martineau Homes was very positive. We would hire them again.

Comparing our experience to other friends who have built homes, we felt our building process with Martineau Homes was very positive and much less stressful. The building process was easy, efficient, and even enjoyable. Our home ended up even more beautiful than we expected. The most impressive quality of Martineau Homes was their continued dedication during the build and even after our home was finished. They went out of their way to take responsibility to provide us with the exact home we wanted. We loved working with Martineau Homes!

We began to build a home that was going to be historical to a certain time period, about 110 years ago. We found a historical expert that helped us with plans and with the architecture of the home and all of that; but ultimately it came down to Chris being able to take the plans, and get a team together, one that could create a project that looked realistically like it was from 100 years ago. I feel like we did that, and amazingly we did it with a lot of ease. He was able to bring people together, and the wonderful thing is, it was the same people who built our house 7 years ago. People that I already had relationships with, felt comfortable with, and had back into my home in Kaysville; and these same people came together and built this home that’s very different from what you see built today. After completing our home, we held a party here for all the people who helped build, and when we got together that evening I really, truly felt that we were amongst friends. We weren’t just amongst people who had done a job. These were people we had developed relationships with, came to trust, came to love, I really call them my friends today, because of the job they did for us on our home 7 years ago and on our home here, and we love it. We feel very positive and grateful we have that kind of relationship with Martineau Homes. We never were in a position where we had to be the ones pointing out the problems, they were always taken care of before we ever identified them. It was a very pro active approach. I think Martineau Homes has figured out how to do the job right and when you do it right, your customers are happy. We love it, we had a great experience, and we had every confidence that Martineau Homes could do a project that ultimately would be different than anything we had ever built before. Martineau Homes did a great job on our house! We love it! They finished on time and on-budget without our needing to compromise on what we wanted. Their bid included a book, not just a quick spreadsheet, listing all of the the items they expected to use in the house. This level of detail meant we were not surprised by large change orders or over budget items like so many people who build custom homes. I recommend them to anyone who considers high-quality, on-time performance, and a great customer experience priorities.
