We are elated with our custom home built by Mezger Homes. Seriously, we wake up everyday in our new home and pinch ourselves. Luke and his team are top-notch and made our project nearly seamless from the get-go, all the way from setting our expectations within our budget, to coordinating with our architect to obtain permits and communicating with our lender to obtain funds, to demo of our old home, and of course through construction of our new home. These people know what they’re doing, and they’re exceptionally good at it. The logistics of building a home seem overwhelming to me, but Luke has his process down to a science. Our architect had told us that Luke has the most accurate pre-construction pricing around, and we found that to be true. Our only budget over-runs were because we chose to make upgrades to some of our finish-out selections. There were really no surprises. Our project manager, Craig, was a pleasure to work with and an absolute task-master who kept things moving. Because of Craig’s diligence and skill, our home was completed nearly two months ahead of schedule (something we had heard was pretty much impossible in Austin). We lived onsite in our RV throughout the build, and had the opportunity to work especially closely with Craig. He’s a gem and we truly valued his partnership in creating our home. The contractors and vendors that Luke uses are equally professional, and helped us navigate the myriad choices that you make when building a house (who knew there are about a couple thousand varieties of subway tile?). My sense is that Luke and Craig really work to maintain strong relationships with their subs and vendors, and that goes a long way toward keeping their projects prioritized, and therefore on-schedule. One last thing I have to mention is that one of the main reasons we chose Luke as our home builder was because of the recommendation of a sub-contractor who said that Luke has high standards for the quality of work he’ll accept from his subs, and will push for the best outcome for his clients. This came into play once we got moved in and weren’t 100% satisfied with our interior paint. Luke and Craig agreed it could be better, and worked with the painter to come back out and make it right. That speaks volumes. In a nutshell, everyone we know who’s built a house in Austin warned us that we’d go over-budget, off-schedule, would fail inspections, and that the process would generally be a nightmare. Because of Mezger Homes we experienced none of that, in fact it was quite the opposite. We highly recommend them and will absolutely work with them again if we ever build another home.

Mezger Homes recently completed our new custom home. Luke’s team stood above others in several areas, Uses leading edge building methods and materials. Can tackle complex projects. Our project had very large custom windows and fairly extensive structural steel (several aspects are more common in light commercial work such as a poured concrete raised entry bridge). Luke’s team is very hard working, dealing with typical construction issues such as weather and materials in a dynamic way, keeping the project moving forward. Lastly I always felt we could trust Luke and his team.

After interviewing and evaluating 7 builders, we hired Mezger Homes to custom build our home in 2017-2018. From the initial meeting itself, my wife and I were very impressed with how Luke handled all our questions and patiently took the time to explain things thoroughly. What sets Mezger homes apart from other builders is their ability to construct a high quality home within a promised time (our house took 10 months) and fixed price cost. We leveraged Luke’s expertise for pre-construction budgeting and during architectural design. He played a pivot role in value engineering to modify architectural plans to build the house within our budget. There were several instances where Luke’s alternate construction options saved us quite a lot of money but still delivered a good quality end product. The contract process was straight forward and transparent. This built a LOT of trust before start of construction and so when issues came up during construction, we could address them with assurance of fairness. We had some date restrictions as to when we would like the project to start construction. Luke was very understanding and accommodating about it inspite of having a full plate of projects. Jeff was our project manager and he was very very good. He was always prepared, and answered all questions with expertise and detail. There was weekly communication and updates about the construction process and or delays. The most impressive quality was Jeff’s attention to detail which is mission critical when it comes to building a custom home. The sub-contractors employed are all excellent and deliver a great end product. We are in the house for around 4 months now and not had any major problems. Issues when reported are usually acknowledged and started within 36 hours and fixed within 1 week by sub-contractors. People generally say that it is common to love the architect but hate the builder. But Mezger homes is proving skeptics wrong to bring back trust and a pleasant experience. We would without a doubt recommend Luke and Jeff to anyone looking to build a custom home today.

I can sing only praises for Mezger Homes for their integrity and high quality work. The process, 8 months, was smooth from start to finish. As with any remodel of an old home, there were surprises, like the collapsed plumbing in my foundation. Luke and Jeff (my project manager) addressed the problem promptly, priced the change order fairly and had subs slide in and replace the plumbing without much impact to my timeline. Mezger Homes has terrific subcontractors who do great work and value their relationship with MH because they show up when they are supposed to. Last but not least, Luke honored his quote, there were no hidden costs. I would highly recommend Mezger Homes to anyone.

Luke Mezger from Mezger Homes came highly recommended from members of our neighborhood and our architect. The attention to detail on this project was astonishing to say the least. This was our first construction project and our project manager Will, was extremely great to work with and made the entire process as painless as possible. They take pride in making beautiful and energy efficient buildings. The contract process is well-organized, transparent and fair. Our project manager, Will Merchant, has been present and available throughout the project. He is honest, knowledgeable, hardworking, and an excellent problem-solver. We wanted some items that are not standard and he embraced the challenges cheerfully. He expects perfection from subcontractors and that sometimes meant re-doing things to get it right. We are thrilled with our beautiful new home!

We hired Mezger Homes for our interior remodel project. We were very impressed with Luke from our initial meeting. His knowledge, expertise and preparedness was impeccable. Our project manager, Craig, was equally impressive. The project ran very smoothly and while there were a couple of typical construction delays, there was constant communication and explanation of what was happening and what to expect. I had complete confidence in the team throughout the 9 month project and was continually impressed with their ability to problem solve and think on their feet when an issue came up on site. Luke and Craig are very experienced in what they do and their expertise was invaluable. They are a well oiled machine and we would hire them again for any future projects. They really went above and beyond and we love our new house!

We contact Luke Mezger about a year and a half ago to talk about new construction for our home in Manor, TX. Luke and his project manager, Jeff N., were transparent about all expectations and costs from the very beginning, and kept us updated every step of the way. We received updates weekly or biweekly, and actual v. budget updates as the build continued. The build ended as planned. We made additions along the way, but because we were constantly updated, we knew where we were coming out in terms of costs, and could make real-time decisions. The house (~4,200) is beautiful and we constantly receive comments about all aspects of the house, especially the kitchen. It has become our favorite place to hang out. Overall a great experience and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mezger Homes to help others build their dream home.

I am very pleased with my experience with Mezger Homes. The superintendent on my project, Craig Trimble, was attentive to detail, a great communicator and very patient. They made the process easy, and the end product is absolutely beautiful.

I strongly recommend Mezger Homes. They are a high quality builder, easy to work with, and excellent at staying within budget. Before, during, and after construction, they worked on all details of the house to make sure plans were executed as designed. They listened and responded to all of our and our architect's questions. Also, I so appreciated the fixed cost budget. I had always heard that with home building and remodeling, it is hard to predict cost. Not with Mezger Homes.
