After quite the search, I ended up choosing Michael Harvey Homes for my remodeling project. Choosing Michael for the project was a great choice. I can’t tell you how pleased I am with the results! I now have a beautiful new sun room, new Den, a much-needed storage closet, as well as a spruced up the front exterior. Michael uses a fixed price contract. After our initial meeting to review the contract, Michael was able to find solutions that not only help to reduce costs, but helped improved the design as well. Michael stayed on Budget, and on time throughout the project. Michael and Dianna were so helpful when I made a few special requests over and above the contract. Dianna was able to get estimates for the items quickly and kept everything moving smoothly. Michael’s crew and trusted sub-contractors were all top notch. They showed up on time (or early), they were friendly, respectful of my property and me and all were excellent at their crafts. Let’s face it remodeling can be stressful and the general contractor you choose is so important. If you are looking for a reliable contractor, who is committed to giving his client’s peace of mind and excellent workmanship, then I would definitely call Michael Harvey Homes. We could not be any happier with every single aspect of Michael Harvey Homes, from the quality and craftsmanship, to the problem solving, to ensuring that our forever home will be here for future generations. We hired Michael to do a total remodel of our home, originally built in the 40s, including removal of multiple walls so we could have the open floor plan and kitchen of our dreams. Michael maximized our budget by repurposing windows and suggesting common sense ideas throughout the home that we would never have thought of. He also fixed a major structural problem that we really didn't know was there. Dianna's design suggestions were greatly appreciated, and she made choosing our options much less overwhelming than it could have been. She and Michael were also very patient with us all of the way through the project as we occasionally changed our minds or made special requests. Michael's crew and subcontractors showed up on time or early every day. They were all professional, friendly and obviously very experienced at their crafts. Oh yeah, and the house was finished ahead of schedule. There are so many things we could say about Michael Harvey Homes, but to put it simply: They are the best!

Micheal Harvey Homes preformed a very difficult and timely job for us in an excellent manor. Not only were they highly professional, but they took an interest in our "challenge" and provided a more cost efficient solution that actually preserved future options for us. We hired Michael to do a complete interior remodel of our 1970's waterfront townhouse with a basement and sun room addition. We lived out of state at the time of the remodeling project, so it was very important for us to have a trusting relationship with our contractor of choice. Micheal was referred to us personally by trustworthy friends. After meeting Michael and seeing his work, we gained complete trust in his character and in his craftsmanship. He was able to put us at ease with the remodeling process even while we were a thousand of mile away from the project. He posted updates frequently and kept us informed consistently. He enthusiastically welcomed challenges and is a creative problem solver. He was communicative and responsible throughout the project. We could not be more pleased with the finished work. Our townhouse is absolutely beautiful and welcoming. We have recommended Michael Harvey Homes to our friends looking for a reliable general contractor they could trust with excellent character and workmanship.

I have worked with Michael Harvey on several different projects. Our first remodel was on our kitchen. Michael had wonderful ideas and the project came in under budget and on time. My next project was our master bedroom and bath project. Again, Michael helped us find the best solution for the space and parameters of the budget. He is easy to talk with; has terrific ideas and is always on time and within budget. Because of the terrific experience I have had with Michael, I am now using him to help me on my living room and for my outdoor space. I can honestly say that my experience with Michael and his workers has been absolutely exceptional. There is no one better in the northern neck for prompt, professional and perfect work. Michael and his team renovated our kitchen, our utility room and replaced all our wood floors. The craftsmanship was outstanding, the timing was excellent, the cost was very reasonable and the professionalism was terrific. We can not be more pleased. The communication throughout the project was awesome. Michael met his team each morning they were on site to review what needed to be done and make sure we had opportunities to provide feedback. My house was on the market for about a year and finally sold the fist April 2018, I new their may be some issues possible doing the home inspection but one of the repairs did surprise me, some of joists in the crawlspace needed repair, Mike Harvey took control of the work, made sure of the installation requirements, provided the needed labor, and came through the final inspection with flying colors. The house also needed some siding repair and had some window issues, Mike ordered required material repaired the windows and siding he did a great job getting me out trouble, and I believe the new owners are very happy.

MIke was extremely easy to deal with and was straight up on the plan working closely with our design engineer and he is a incredible professional you could easily see he knows his stuff ! Handeling our major project Mike was extremely proficient in his plan and sticking to our estimate , schedule and handling every detail along the way! Overall Mike and his team took a major project and tackled it in a manner that made it feel smooth with no disruption. I would highly recommend Mike and his team. Quality work, very professional and extreme knowledge of the building trade.

Michael truly lives up to his motto "every detail matters" which is exemplified in our project, from conceptual design to completion. His team of contractors are real professionals who obviously strive to meet his high standards. Mike's daily supervision of the work was re-assuring. I couldn't have had a better Company then Michael Harvey Homes, to do repairs on my home. He gave me a breakdown print off of all the repairs that he thought should be done. He worked side by side with me with all my concerns, and reassured me that it would be done like it was his own home. They cleaned each area as they went along. When, I returned to see the finished repairs I was very happy that it turned out beautiful. It was done in the allotted time. Even with other major repairs Michael find along the way. His Employees were respectful of my home, and of myself. I was very fortunate to have met and have Michael Harvey Homes,repair my home. His company is one of those in the Northern Neck that show up when they say they are coming. Can't say enough or Thank him enough for his Professional and Caring way he does his business. We have used Michael for about 12 years for all of our repairs, updates and corrections from old work done by others. He has always been on time, on budget and completed the work with the highest quality results. He has offered suggestions that definitely improved our home that we would not have thought of. We absolutely love our new two-story screened porches! Face it - some builders adopt a cute slogan because that's what they tell you to do in marketing class! Well, Mike's commitment to "every detail matters" is EXACTLY what he delivers. He made our ideas come to life with great design sense, and he consulted with us every step of the way whenever there was more than one way to proceed. When we made a choice for flooring that just did not work for us, Mike creatively solved the problem with virtually no disruption to the overall project. The project was on budget and on time. We were 100% comfortable and confident with him professionally and personally. He is more than a contractor with a client - he is your partner all the way.

What a joy it was working with Mike Harvey! He built a 3-car, brick garage for me, and I could not be more satisfied. I obtained three bids for the job, Mike's was the lowest and most detailed. The materials Mike chose were topnotch, his subcontractors were uniformly outstanding (courteous, competent, neat), and Mike's attention to detail is second to none. The mark of a truly great builder is how well he handles the unpredictable curveballs that pop up in every construction job. We had our share, and Mike dealt with each one with the calm confidence of an unflappable, highly experienced, true professional. Our contract was fixed price, but when Mike encountered unforeseen problems, he never once sought to increase the price of the job, Instead, he honored our agreement and absorbed the additional cost of the workaround. Mike is such a perfectionist, that when he saw ways to improve on the architect's design, he did so at his expense. But Mike is much more than just a highly competent builder--he is a wonderful person to be around. When the job was over, I was sorry to see him leave! I thoroughly enjoyed his company and am glad now to count him as a friend. If you are planning a significant construction job and you want the best, hire Mike Harvey. You will not be disappointed. Mike is FIVE stars all the way!

Mr. Harvey lives up to his motto, "Every Detail Matters". Not only is his finish work impeccable, but he has quite creative solutions. In our first project with him (a kitchen/dining room/powder room redo), he designed a beautiful porch that fit the lines of the house perfectly, wasn't in the original plan, but proved to be very cost effective. In the second project (bedroom/bath/living room), he easily accommodated our elaborate requirements for our shower and closet. He's fun to work with.

Michael Harvey brought our 1950's weekend cottage into the 21st century. He was a pleasure to work with--always good about returning calls--patient with paint color changes. His subcontractors did excellent work. He implemented the design developed by architect Jennifer McCann (White Stone VA) and he encouraged us to go even further--removing an additional wall and opening up our beautiful view. If you demand superior quality craftsmanship and care to detail for your home project, then Mike Harvey is your contractor of choice. The total custom “makeover” of our home on Carters Creek was complex and very extensive. Opening-up a 1970’s design home involved removal of walls, relocation/installation of a country kitchen and vaulted creek room among many other improvements. Mr. Harvey was extremely responsive to the numerous challenges of renovations and changes throughout our project. His ability to supervise sub-contractors was very important to keep our project on schedule. We are happy to share our wonderful experience, as are the other eight neighbors in our community where Mr. Harvey has also completed home projects.
