If you are after the ultimate cliff dive, look no further. A home building experience is always one of stress, but Muirfield finds ways to take it to the next level. Blown timelines in every direction, lack of foresight in construction process, unrealistically low budgets, damaged flooring, shoddy craftsmanship, evading inspections, inability to procure supplies/labor due to lack of funds, and general lack of oversight. After move-in gets even better with a complete tear out of a master bathroom due to mold growth less than a year in, house flood from mismanaged plumbing, improper joist installation leading to sagging ceilings, unlevel walls, and creaky floors. Your dream home should not be a low-quality spec home. Muirfield Homes has had 27 mechanic’s liens filed by unpaid sub-contractors since 2018 in Cleveland county alone (Source: clerk.clevelandcountyok.com/web). 3 lawsuits have been filed in Oklahoma courts since 2018, two for unpaid bills and a third for gross negligence. (Source: Oscn.net). If you can’t find someone who Alan has built recently, feel free to contact for pictures and referrals. If you want to speak to contractors who still haven’t been paid, feel free to reach out. We had to terminate our contract near the end of the build due to all the above, numerous liens, sub-contractors walking off the job due to lack of payment, and inability to procure supplies. Sorry to see that you and your wife are still so angry Shaun. I hope that something good happens to heal that for you both. I completely agree with you on many levels. Meet with the people you are going to build a home for/with and stick with your gut on a decision.

Everything I have ever done is out there and available for public consumption and it has been for 34 years and over 700 new home transactions in Norman alone. As many as 4 homes for some families including repeat customers I am building for currently. It has not always been easy or pretty and yes, the last 3 years have been especially tough for a number of reasons. I will not go into those here but I will be happy to meet face to face with anyone, anytime and discuss it. I live next door to this man and he doesn't have the decency to do that.

As far as the house itself be sure to go in and look at his complaints. Me and my Attorney did. There were no walls sagging or bathrooms caving in. My Attorney commented that this was a complete money grab. What is also not mentioned is that they fired and did not pay their Realtor and Interior Designer. I can provide those names as well on request. The Tilford's have a history of this so it's not just me.

No matter what my faults are, and like most people I have many, I don't lie to people and I won't leave them high and dry. We are still working out ALL issues that we have had lately and will continue do so until they are resolved. I have a lot more references from a lot more people that will tell you that. We are and will continue to do what we do best and strive to do our best.

I chose Muirfield Homes to build my new home because of the quality craftsmanship and they were willing to make adjustments to the floor plan to fit my specific needs. They were on schedule and kept me informed during the entire process. Especially helpful was the consultation service with an interior design expert that was provided to coordinate the selection of wall color, cabinet color, counter tops, tile, carpet, etc. I highly recommend Muirfield Homes.

I was very happy with the service from Muirfield Homes. They built a home from a plan we provided. Most impressive was that one of the contractors made a large mistake, and they fixed the mistake even though the time was past the warranty (it took more than a year for the mistake to manifest itself).

Muirfield Homes built our home for us that we still live in. It was very well constructed since it survived an EF 1 Tornado this year with minimal damage. We chose to build the model, a Southern Living plan. Muirfield agreed to several changes so it was a build-to-suit plan. We are very happy with the result and would choose them again.

We had a wonderful experience purchasing our house from Muirfield Homes. Everyone on staff was kind, courteous, helpful, quick to answer any questions or requests. For years after completing our home purchase, I would call the Muirfield office with random questions about a paint color or something else that was probably in the homeowner's binder that I would forget to look in, and they would always answer any question I had! They certainly make you feel like you are the most important home buyer they have. We are still in our house 13 years later, but if we ever need to build/buy another house, we will go straight to Muirfield Homes.

We engaged Muirfield Homes to build a custom home for us in 2013. Since it is our second home, we wanted something small but with top line finishes - with lots of special touches added by us during the design and construction phases. It became clear that custom homes are Muirfield's specialty - all the way from the quality work from the subs, to the responsiveness from the Muirfield team. We now have a home that is well built, and I am sure that it quality construction will withstand the test of time and protect our home's value. Sure, it cost a bit more - - both my husband and I understand that our home is our greatest investment and the people at Muirfield never left our side during construction. My husband is an architect, so we may not have been the easiest clients that Muirfield has ever dealt with, and yes, we asked for more than a few changes during construction - they always accommodated us. About five months after the house was complete, we had what could have been a pretty significant problem with a custom item we had asked for during construction - - . Muirfield to the rescue! Cindy, Muirfield's amazing project manager, brought all of the subs involved to a meeting at our house and they were able to resolve the problem with no finger pointing. No doubt, I would recommend Muirfield to anyone looking for a custom builder with integrity, responsiveness and quality throughout all phases of construction.
