After living in our home for over 20 years, it we finally decided to remodel the kitchen that didn't make sense. instead our a rectangular kitchen, our home originally had a "notched out" area with a tiny outdoor covered patio area. It never made sense to us, and we wanted to square off the room to make it more functional. In addition, we wanted to kicked out the back of the kitchen to make it larger for entertaining. Our designer and architect were able to advise us as to which walls were load-bearing, and helped us with coming up with a really great floor plan with a butler's pantry, large walk-in pantry, large islands with eating area, and 2 big kitchen sinks.
Our designer had previously worked with Kurt of Paradise Builders many times, and asked them and other construction contractors to meet with us and review our construction blueprints. They seemed very experienced, knowledge, and fair.
One of the many reasons that we decided to work with Paradise Builders is because Kurt was genuinely interested in assuring us that he would resolve any and all of our concerns. Of utmost importance to us was the safety of our family; we required him to securely close up the construction areas nightly to assure that we would be safe. There were a few times when the construction crews left without putting up plywood to close up the back of the house; Kurt personally drove to our home at night to completely enclose the back. In addition, in advance of rain, he and his crew securely covered up the construction areas.
As we lived in our home during construction, it was extremely important that plastic be installed to minimize construction dust entering our living areas. Paradise Builders installed temporary walls with plastics, and zippers to protect our living space, but also allow access.
During construction, their plumber discovered a dip in our original sewer lines. Because of their experience, they were able to correct our sewer lines so that they drained property. Yay! No more clogged drains!
One of our concerns was that we purchased tile to match previously installed adjacent flooring. Paradise Builders was able to match the elevation and spacing of the tile so we can't even tell where the original and new tiles are!
Kurt was great at communicating with us, and making recommendations to improve our vision, which was greatly appreciated.
We found Kurt and Paradise Builders to be extremely professional and experienced. Most importantly, he was extremely polite and respectful of our time and concerns. He always followed through, whether it was work to be done or answering a question.
