My husband and I began planning a home with Richard in early 2007. We had never built a home before and after only a few meetings knew that Richard was the person we wanted to build for us. It was such a pleasure to work with him and his wife, Julia. Richard is extremely creative and full of unique ideas and details to make each house he builds special and truly one of a kind. He offers many special finishes and personal touches that are difficult to find. He co-ordinates with true artisans who work on-sight to hand-make features such as mantles, hoods, iron work, and many others. He offered us wonderful advice and honest opinions. We trust him completely and are absolutely thrilled with the home he built for us. In addition to being an extraordinary builder, Richard is a man of good character and integrity. We hired Richard Padgham Inc to convert our existing 24 x 24 garage into a great room with a rock fireplace, build a new free standing garage with a loggia connecting to our great room entrance, and redesign our kitchen. In the kitchen we added an 8' granite island with built in Sub Zero drawer refrigerator, new cabinets and a Wolf 6 burner gas stove. Several walls were opened up to give a very traditional home a more current look.The ceilings in both the great room and kitchen were coffered. The loggia was finished with cedar post and a rock floor. Richard is very creative and sees unique ways to add value and design innovation to what ever project he is working on.

Richard built my home last year. He is very professional and knowledgable. His attention to detail is extraordinary! He is very creative, also. If I ever built another house, I would hire him again.
