My husband and I searched for exactly the right house, but we couldn't find it. In our search, we met Rod Fielding as he was hosting an open house in one of his new custom built homes. This meeting turned out to be the best appointment that we had during our home search. Rod immediately made an impression on me as a man of his word, and I was immediately impressed with his work as I walked around his house. We had found what we were looking for - someone to work closely with as we built our new home. We were new to the process, so we relied heavily on Rod's expertise and guidance, and he didn't disappoint. At every turn and decision, Rod was there to give guidance and input; but he never took over the process, allowing us to have what we wanted but also advising about the little things that we didn't know. We had outlined to him our priorities and big preferences, and he honored those all along the way. There were times when we were making a decision about a small thing, and he'd remind us that this immediate decision would impact something later. That knowledge of the whole process was invaluable to us! Our home was finished well within budget and in the time promised. After our home was finished, Rod has taken the time on several occasions to check in with us to make sure that everything is in working order. Rod Fielding is a meticulous builder that I would highly recommend!

My decision to choose Rod Fielding was based on his reputation and seeing other projects of his. We worked closely on the plans He was able to incorporate everything I wanted and adapt it to my lot. As we progressed with the project, he was able to make changes with no problem such as moving plumbing for my washer and change the format of the master closet. He advised me on selecting things that would increase the value of my home such as windows, recycling hot water and heated bathroom floor. He provided an interior decorator that was very helpful in selecting tile, paint colors, etc. He met all deadlines. After five year, I am still able to contact him with any problems I might have. I would definitely let Rod build me another home.

Rod Fielding built a house for us in 2009. You will simply not find a contractor with more integrity. His attention to detail and his customer focus were incredible. He delivered a very well-built home on schedule. He really went far beyond our expectations and worked hard to fulfill our vision. Rod listened to our requests, and had very good ideas for our plans. He was very good to explain the reasons for his recommendations, and the pros and cons for each option. He was very patient with our questions, and his professionalism is rare in the construction industry. He started with going beyond the minimum, and flooding the lot multiple times to ensure a good base. Then he was very meticulous about the foundation, placement of utilities, and everything that went under the house. We have had no problems with settling, even through some crazy weather. Rod’s attention to detail carried through every sub-contractor and craftsman. He only used qualified subs, and their work was art. He only used quality materials, and the finished product is a very solid well-built home that suits our lifestyle perfectly. Guests have simply raved about the obvious quality. Two weeks after we moved in, someone threw a brick through a window. Rod had called the police, boarded up the window, and had workers on the way to do the repairs before we even got home!! Then he showed up with a vacuum, safety gloves, and helped us clean up the mess. This is just one example of how he goes far beyond expectations. Rod is not the cheapest contractor. But he is absolutely the best value. We highly recommend him!!

My one regret with Mr. Fielding was that I didn't hire him 9 years ago to build my house! We chose Fielding Custom Builders for a remodel after several neighbors and friends spoke highly of him. His work has exceeded all of our expectations from the beginning of the project to the final finishing details. The biggest part of our remodel was adding stone to the outside of house. With this and a dozen other smaller projects he proved knowledgable and we were especially impressed with his attention to detail. Importantly we met our budget, could always reach him easily and found him pleasant to work with. We will use Mr. Fielding again and highly recommend him for projects big or small.

My wife and I contracted Rod to build our house and it was a great experience. He told us from the beginning that communication was the key to a great building experience, both between us and with him. He was right. We hired Rod to build a pool bathroom during a backyard renovation project. It is difficult to overstate how much we appreciate his efforts and professionalism. He was always available to answer questions, even though it was a relatively small project. We returned to him after he had been one of our home builders 14 years ago. He is one of the good guys in the home building business, and we can recommend him without reservation.
