I hired Tom Bierster/Fine Home Buulding to build a home for me in Point Clear, Alabama. Tom worked hand in hand with the architectural firm I hired as well. They worked hand in hand throughout the project and if any unforeseen issues arose, Tom was readily available to communicate with me and the architects to formulate and carry out a solution. The attention to detail , especially in the trim work and other wood work resulted in beautiful craftsmanship not seen often in our area. His separate door business handcrafted the most beautiful cypress doors that are present throughout the house which features both formal and informal areas. A year later he and his crew are available to tweak any small issues that may arise. I am very pleased with the finished project.

Tom has handled more than several projects for us over the last four years. Renovated our cottage in Fairhope, built a rear screened porch, separate grill area and a garage with a second floor studio in addition to refinishing kitchen cabinets and redoing a hall bathroom. When a project comes up, we call Tom and no one else. We know the work will be quality and timely. He has our complete trust in things being done right. If we were ever to build a ground up home, Tom would be our guy. When we first thought about renovating our cottage we interviewed several other builders/contractors, no one even came close to Tom's professionalism, listening to us the customers and responsiveness to our questions. We do not hesitate in recommending him, can not go wrong and you will be in excellent hands.

Tom and his crew worked with us on remodeling and expanding a home in Fairhope several years ago (we moved into the house 12 years ago). Several points lead us to the 5 star rating. Going back to when the house was being worked on, Tom was available and responsive. The people in his crew were mostly very good. Tom had a great eye for seeing things before they were done and working with us and the architect to make it all work as it should and as we wanted. What is also outstanding is that even today, many years later, if there is a problem we still will call Tom first for his help and advice and he is always willing to provide both. We would highly recommend Tom. Note that the date given below is the completion date of the project.

excellent home builder.he came highly recommend by both prior clients and high end architects.he stayed within the budget and built us a beautiful home within the designated time frame.(project cost approximately $1.2 million).pleasent to work with.very talented....several years later when a termite issue was discovered, he promptly responded and repaired everything just like new. later in a rental house i own he repaired leaking roof and a water damaged bath room superbly........A++++++ sorry no photos.....

We have a home in Fairhope, Alabama, that is on the bay front of Mobile Bay. There is a beautiful view, but in our master bedroom we had 2 French doors with 2 windows beside them that had wood blinds on them. The doors and the blinds were difficult to open, so we never did, and we were missing out on the beautiful view from our master bedroom. TBFH did a remodel of that room. He took the existing doors and windows out, and constructed 3 large floor to ceiling windows, bricked two full walls and made our master bedroom one of the most beautiful rooms in our home! He made the view of the water, a part of the room, and created a comfortable, calming and gorgeous space that we love to be in. We will be doing more renovations in our home in the future, and we will definitely use Tom for those jobs!

After interviewing three builders, I contracted with Fine Home Building because of their proven track record of renovating older homes - my home is 114 years old. FHB did an outstanding job, executing a full renovation including new additions to the house to accommodate a redesigned and enlarged kitchen, new master bath, office and laundry room as well an s a new screen porch. As a side note, the entire backside of the kitchen opens to the screen porch through magnificent mahogany doors that FHB manufactured - they are a work of art. The extensive remodel/renovation was completed while my wife and I were living in Germany, meaning this project was completed with very little oversight from the owners. The highest praise I can give FHB’s owner, Tom Bierster, he is an honorable man, always standing by the quality of his work – and always good for his word. This single attribute led to the successful renovation of our new home. I recommend FHB without reservation.
