It's been nearly 2 years since our home by Veritas has been completed. And in those two years, we have sung the praises of our experience with Veritas time and time again. Especially after hearing horror stories that some of our neighbors have experienced with building their homes. We are so grateful that we chose Troy and his very capable team; they were not only great to work with, but we appreciated the details that they paid attention to when we could not (we were only able to visit 2x during the build). They were transparent in all aspects of the build, even when there were issues (mostly industry-caused). Their integrity, professionalism, and ability to laugh are just a couple of the reasons we are so happy we chose them. The whole team is great and that is why we are still friends with them all to this day!

We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Veritas. They spent countless hours understanding us - what we liked, didn't like, our lifestyle, what was non-negotiable, curating our Houzz board with inspiration photos, etc. Basically, they got to KNOW us. That turned out to be the most important part when the build process started - they knew what was important to us. The renderings that came out of the design process were invaluable - we referenced them any time there was a question during the build process. When construction started, the team kept in touch with us regularly - whether it was an ad hoc status or a weekly touch point - we knew where things were the whole time. Our project manager was phenomenal - not only was he aware of every design decision that was made, he knew his stuff about the whole process -timing of trades, building the relationship with the trades, etc. Everyone that we came in to contact with could not say enough positive things about him. The designer that we worked with was an excellent source for trends from countertops, to flooring, to even kitchen cabinet configurations (ex: Rev a Shelf). She was always available to answer the most mundane questions. The most satisfaction we had working with Veritas was any time there was a question - placement of a floor vent, the need for gutters, placement of an electrical outlet, color of the exterior finishes - if there was any doubt at all on what should be done - they called us. Never once did someone make an assumption about something. That type of communication is essential and imperative for a successful new home build. I give you all these specific examples of team members because they, as whole, are what made this experience so amazing for us. The Veritas TEAM is what sets them apart from anyone else. Their professionalism, their years of experience and knowledge, their deep and respected relationships with other businesses and trades in town, their goal of ensuring that what was built was exactly what we wanted - all of it adds up to 5 (I'd give more if I could) stars. We absolutely love our house and highly recommend Veritas to build your new home.

We purchased our Veritas home shortly after completion from the family that was having it built. Unfortunately they suffered a tragedy and decided to sell. Troy from Veritas contacted us to make sure we had all the documentation on the build. Veritas transferred all home warrantees to us as if we were the original client. They assigned Jeremy to work with us to complete the final punch list and to make some changes to the house we requested. We are very pleased with the work they did for us and Jeremy did an outstanding job. The overall quality of the build and attention to detail is first rate. I would highly recommend working with Veritas in building your home.

We thoroughly enjoyed the design and build process with the team at Veritas, from start to finish. Troy devoted as much time to us as we needed as we created our home with his guidance, expertise, critical eye, and creativity. We'd build again in a heartbeat with this team if we could! Important to note that we built through the very worst of COVID restrictions and frustrations. Troy and his team managed all of that like absolute pros.

While many people could dread the thousands of decisions implicit with the design and build of a home on an empty lot, working with the small but mighty VERITAS team was the most fun we’ve had in years. We purchased our property while still living in the midwest knowing we would move full time to southwest Colorado. As the two regions of the country are vastly different I subscribed to Mountain Living magazine for inspiration. When the annual Big Rustic issue arrived I was captivated by the cover home built by VERITAS. That issue sat on my desk for months as we tried on different styles of architecture. Once we got serious about hiring a builder we made the connection from the Big Rustic issue that VERITAS would be a local builder for us. I called Troy Dyer, introduced myself and we talked for what seemed like hours. The connection was instant for me and fortunately Troy was open to working with us. The VERITAS team was outstanding in every way to build our vision. The process was straightforward, transparent, on time and on budget. Troy has assembled a great team and has well established relationships with the local trades. His charisma, passion, creativity and attention to detail fit well with our personalities and has sealed a long-lasting friendship in this small Colorado town that we now call home.

VFH completed construction of our farmhouse in Spring 2019. They assisted us throughout the process with design and construction expertise. Troy is very talented at what he does, great design ideas coupled with construction/engineering knowledge. Overall, very happy with the end result. I cannot say enough about this building team! We had a fantastic experience building our new home. From the moment we were on the lot together for the first time, Troy was coming up with potential and possibilities. This creativity continued through the entire project. We sat together weekly and designed, redesigned, and discussed the details of our project. Although, we designed the home ourselves, we never felt alone in the creative or logistical process. The team was in constant communication and available for questions and concerns. Throughout the build we had a dedicated project manager and a design specialist who communicated with the product reps, made sure fixtures would fit together (I.e. sinks and faucets / lights and mirrors), and double checked our selections for quality parts and finishes. They kept us and the subcontractors on schedule and on budget. Just 8 months after breaking ground, we moved into a beautiful house custom built just for us! It was an amazing journey.

Our experience with the Veritas team was exceptional from start of design to house completion. They blended our ideas with their creativity and experience in the design phase and implemented them beautifully. We were not living here when Veritas built our house but never had a worry about the quality of the construction. We never worried whether they were watching out for us. It was a stress-free and enjoyable experience. Our construction manager, Terry, was onsite everyday and was "hands-on" all the way. Veritas attention to quality and details are second to none. Contractors frequently told us how much they respected Terry and how much they enjoyed working for Veritas. The pre-construction cost estimate and time estimate were very close to the final costs and completion date. That is very unusual in the home building business. Overall, Veritas was very easy to work with and were very attentive to our needs and desires for the house. We would love to give them a higher than exceptional rating if there was one. We highly recommend them!

We just finished building our house with Troy Dyer and the Veritas team, and it was without a doubt one of the greatest collaborators we have ever been a part of. Troy and his team are obsessive about quality, scheduling, communication, and budget.......in short they are truly passionate about what they do. Anyone who has ever built a large home knows that the relationship with your builder is probably the single biggest factor in the project's success. What really made the difference in the end product was Troy's ability to "let the project breathe". By that II am referring to Veritas' ability to know when it was smart to let our project grow in scope and cost, and when it was time to counsel us to reign in our ideas. Whenever issues would arise, whether it was a complex problem or change in direction, Troy would handle it with good humor and professionalism. in the end, our home is amazing in large part because the Veritas Team is so amazing.

We had a small but important remodeling job when we purchased our home in Durango. We were very fortunate that Troy Dyer was there for us. As fate would have it, Troy built the original home in 2008 and did an addition in 2011 for the second owner. Troy was as excited as we were to put a finishing touch on this home. What we were wanting was a “statement” island in the kitchen area (and to finish off a door in the laundry room). With foresight, Troy had actually planned for this when he originally constructed the home. He and his team set up the work area using plastic barriers. They were there on time, efficient, communicative and very clean. We got exactly what we wanted! We are very grateful to Troy and his team for the attention and the quality of their work, especially given the number of other major projects they have at any given time.

Veritas Fine Homes has built our dream home! What a true blessing to have worked with such a fine team. We just moved in last week and the warmth and comfort of our custom home overwhelms me! Thank you Veritas team for the outstanding work you have done at our home! This was our first "upgrade" project at a home we recently purchased in Durango,CO. We have replaced the floors, and built a "teen cave" as an extension to our son`s bedroom. The job was performed at the most professional level with a very fine attention to the detail. The project was completed in a timely manner. And as icing on the cake, we were regularly updated about the work progress through emails and photos that Veritas team so generously was keeping up. Our experience on our home remodel with Veritas was outstanding! From our initial meeting last summer throughout the planning and scheduling Troy was highly professional and organized and all the details were carefully planned out to make the experience as smooth as possible with no hidden surprises! Veritas came highly recommended to my husband and me by the architect working on our ranch remodel and build-out of a former barn into a second house / guest cottage. We could not have been more pleased with their professionalism and eye for detail. I am taking the time to write a review for Veritas Fine Homes Inc and Troy Dyer because they have done superb work on our home remodel and they deserve it! Dyerbuilt, Terry and Troy Dyer, originally built our home in 2003 and it was a great experience working with them. They were on time and on budget, which we all know is not always the case. Recently we contacted Troy Dyer, now with Veritas Fine Homes, and requested that he do a remodel to update and keep the house current. The entire process, start to finish, was smooth and handled very professionally. Here are some of the reasons that I appreciated their work: -Troy Dyer outlined a very precise and detailed budget at the beginning so we knew exactly what to expect financially. -He gave us a timeline that he stuck to, literally to the day, regarding the construction process. -He warned us ahead of time about the difficulty of living in a construction site throughout the work. I am not going to say that this part was fun, but we were well advised as to what we were getting into and prepared. -They mitigated much of the head ache of living in a construction site by keeping the area so clean and tidy everyday. They carefully covered sensitive items to keep them protected such as our grand piano and tv area. They covered stair cases that would get a lot of wear and tear from the workers. Once they put in new carpet they put plastic over all of it until the entire construction process was complete in order to keep it protected. They sealed off rooms in which they were working so dust would not spread throughout the entire house. This part was very important to us. We are quite meticulous and clean and we sincerely appreciated their efforts at protecting the house. -Troy was responsive and available always throughout the process, even after hours, and would return calls promptly. -The entire team was respectful, friendly and professional. -When one group of workers came in to do a final clean and their job was not to the standard that Troy requires, he literally came in personally and cleaned after them! I told my husband that day that this is the reason we hired Veritas Fine Homes! My first review on Houzz MUST go to our General Contractor, Troy Dyer, owner of Veritas Fine Homes. Troy and his father, Terry, have been building exquisite homes in Durango for over 20 years. Their natural and friendly personalities, their trusted relationships with contractors and vendors, their sterling reputations in our community and, most importantly, their sense of integrity and pride in their work, led us to their door. We have lived in Durango for 25 years and our current home is the third we’ve built here. I enjoy this process and expect to work closely with MY TEAM OF CHOICE, starting with a design/build firm, an architect, a designer, a landscape designer and, of course, Houzz! I researched and interviewed local professionals, asking to see previous homes, talking to clients, listening at the banks, realtors offices, hardware stores. If you do this long enough you uncover the gems. When you keep hearing “Troy and Terry” over and over again, you pay attention. I had spent many months, hundreds (if not thousands) of Houzz pictures later, I knew what I wanted. Just not quite sure how to put it together and how I could do it in our budget. Troy’s easy and warm smile enticed me but I still wanted another sign. I casually mentioned a firm of architects that I had admired. I liked their style and sense of space. When I returned home that day Troy had researched the group and followed up with a long e-mail about the design work I was so attracted to and how it could work in Durango, on the land we had previously purchased. He shared his vision of how it could all come together. I immediately felt like he understood. I had my sign. We chose an architect we had used before in our other homes and felt very comfortable with. Our designer was a rising talent in Telluride (besides being a family friend). Our landscaping team did extraordinary work and Troy was an intricate part of every process, from our original dreams, to design, implementation and wrap up. He not only hosted meetings but he added invaluable knowledge and creativity; always keeping in mind our vision and our budget. It’s tempting to get carried away with the “process” and loose sight of how much you’re spending. Troy could always “bring” us back with solid alternatives that made sense. We broke ground, on raw land, June 2013. We moved into our new home February 2014. Just as Troy had promised. The end of September 2014 our home will be included in the Fall Parade of Homes in Durango. Quite an honor. We are extremely privileged to recommend Veritas Fine Homes and Troy Dyer on Houzz.

The is my second Houzz recommendation for the Veritas Team that Troy has put together. And I cannot recommend them enough. Veritas Fine Homes is an amazing organization. Veritas is organized, efficient and thoughtful in their process. And, I have done several homes in the past and NO builder has been a greater pleasure to work with. Here are a few reasons why Veritas is so excellent: Veritas built a caretaker house for me this winter. We needed to get the job done and Veritas completed the project in 4--winter--months and the home is of excellent construction. (There were days I felt bad for the Jeremy and the guys in the driving snow and freezing temperatures.) Budgeting by the Veritas team -- The level of detail of information throughout the process on budgeting is the best aspect of working with Veritas. If Veriias provides you with a budget, it will be protected. Any, changes to the budget are truly due to change orders, not mistakes. The thoroughness of Veritas in their budgeting process sets them apart from any builder with which I have worked. Scheduling and Efficiency -- Veritas subcontractors are professional and courteous and prompt. Veritas keeps the job organized, clean and and moving smoothly. I loved working with Natalie (master organizer and design assistant) and Jeremy (my project manager) for this project.

Veritas Fine Homes has done many remodel and complete build projects over the past dozen years or so for us, and they are the BEST builders in the Four Corners region. Troy and Terry are brilliant when it comes to creativity and problem solving.
