A home renovation is one of the biggest projects most people take on, and you hear so many horror stories about contractors. But working with Vogel Builders was an amazing experience. Eric Vogel told us from the beginning “this should be a fun process for you all”. We didn’t really believe him at the time. We fully expected delays, added costs, and huge headaches, especially since our house was very old and we were doing a major renovation and addition. No part of the house was untouched. They began demo/construction in January 2020, of course, quickly after that came lots of unknowns with the pandemic. But Eric handled it all and, other than choosing finishes, there was almost never anything we needed to worry about. Our project managers, Jake and Kyle, would often let me know who was scheduled to do work, what was back ordered, and how things were going. They were great at checking in to make sure everything was as expected and catching and fixing any mistakes early. Talking with them made me appreciate having a good contractor who could order, schedule, reschedule, reorder, and coordinate everything. There’s so much more to finding good subcontractors, scheduling them, and getting them to show up and do the work on time, than we ever realized. And ordering materials during the pandemic was a challenge I was very glad to not have to deal with myself. Eric said in the beginning he’d have our house “back to us” in 6-9 months. We moved in to a practically brand-new house in 7 months, on budget, despite the challenges of the pandemic. Service after the project has also been great. Eric has fixed or scheduled and checked up on contractors for any little things that weren’t perfect. Some of the things we’ve had him fix are very minor and it seems silly to even bother fixing them, but Eric always takes even the tiniest issues seriously and gets them taken care of. In the end, Eric was right, the renovation was “a fun process” for us. Eric clearly takes a huge amount of pride in his work and his business, and works hard to keep his clients happy.

We interviewed 6 builders before we decided on Eric to build our new home - and to do so while still living in Pittsburgh. Eric possessed the communication and organization skills necessary to do so, and obviously demonstrated that he builds custom homes vs. "customizing" a standard builder's plan for you. We had our own architect, and worked with both him and Eric during the design phase. Eric understood from the beginning what we were trying to represent in the exterior and interior which helped immensely as you fo through the various choices in trim, finishes, exterior stone ...He made some great recommendations and executed on the plans on time and one budget (although we made some big additions to patios and pools in the end) Eric is very trustworthy and has direct in his communications with you. He was very organized and when we had the inheritable issues you encounter in the process, we both stressed the need to get decisions/modifications made and still enjoy the process, which I did throughout. And to his credit, when I caused a major problem soon after the construction which damaged all the 1st floor wood flooring, Eric was there to help us in redoing the house - and worked us in to a very busy summer schedule with his subs.

I can't say enough good things about Eric Vogel and his work ethic. He was highly recommended by a friend and neighbor and we had a great experience with him. We added a second story and did extensive renovations. He was an excellent communicator, very responsive to our billions of questions, and had thoughtful cost-conscious solutions to offer. The last several weeks of the project, he paired us with one of his team, Elvy Jansen, who was literally on site every day until we moved back. She was available 24/7 to handle all of the millions of details. I would not hesitate to recommend Vogel Builders to anyone looking for a builder with integrity. Also of note: We are lucky to have a very dear elderly neighbor. Eric and his team took care of her, pressure washing the exterior of her house and taking care of plumbing and tile issues that had been a source of much consternation for her. This is a good man and it shows.

Eric Vogel was recommended to us when we were looking for a builder to finish our dream home after our builder abandoned the job halfway through. It is quite difficult to find someone to take over someone else's work. Most don't want the responsibility. Eric is an exception. In fact, he's a good samaritan, willing to help someone in desperate need. Eric carefully inspected our home so there would not be issues for us later on. He made suggestions for practical changes that would make the house work better for us and to replace inferior items previously chosen while saving us money too. His attention to detail is second to none. Eric and his team were intimately involved every step of the way and treated our home as if it were their own. They are experienced, innovative and practical in their approach. Their goal is to build the best quality home, not necessarily the most expensive. They were always there to answer any question and kept us constantly informed. They showed us that building a home can be a positive, pleasant experience, something I had not come close to experiencing before. The final result exceeds my greatest expectation! Eric gives much more than you pay for. I will never be able to repay Eric for delivering such an exceptional home and easing our minds after a traumatic start with another builder. It is not a coincidence that there are so many great reviews for Vogel Builders. They have earned them.

We always knew we wanted to build a perfect custom house. After several years of dreaming, the situation became a reality. We wanted a local builder and our realtor gave us three names. Eric Vogel was by far the quickest to respond. The other builders didn't seem very interested in working with us because we weren't building a million dollar home. Eric met with us the day after we called him and showed us his spec homes. He was extremely friendly and tried to really understand what we wanted in our dream home. It took us only a couple minutes to realize he was exactly who we wanted to build our home. From the very beginning, he wanted to make sure we got the most out of every dollar we spent. He and his wife, Cheryl, helped us stick to our budget and made sure we ended up with everything we could have dreamed of and more. We challenged them by building a home pretty far south of Austin but our build process was carefully watched by Eric every step of the way. The only delays we ever had were from freezing weather. The only mistake made during the build was the wrong color cabinets were delivered due to a mislabeled example at the design showroom. Eric made sure that the correct cabinets were delivered right away and it didn't change our timeline by even a day. Cheryl was an amazing help for me. If I would get stuck on a design issue, she was always willing to help me through. Eric and Cheryl made everything so easy and our house turned out amazing. We have been in the house almost a year now and Eric has continued to be there for us when we have had questions. We have heard many terrible stories from friends building a custom home with other builders and it makes us appreciate our experience even more. I have recommended Vogel Builders to everyone and will continue to sing their praises for many years to come!!

My husband and I walked into a newly built home by Vogel Builders and fell in love with it immediately. The design layout was just what we were looking for and more. We liked it so much that we bought it not really being in the market for a different house much less a new one. The craftsmanship is stunning and the no details were overlooked. Plus a pool in the back makes it over the top. We plan on raising our young children in this home but if we did ever build... We know whom we would hire VOGEL Builders for sure!

We contacted Vogel Builders for a quote on a master bath remodel. Eric was very up front with costs and explained what the costs were but also how he determined those costs. We were immeadiatly comfortable with his estimates even though they were above where we initially wanted to be because he did take the time to explain the pricing of materials, labor etc. We also worked with Cheryl to pick out colors and tile etc. She was very helpful and had great input. Once the project started it went pretty smoothly, a couple of hiccups here and there, mostly sub contractors scheduling, supplies being available etc. In the end everything came out better than expected. We are very pleased with the results. Even though there were some adjustments to be made along the way Eric stuck to his original quote and did not tack on any extras. I would use Eric again on any remodel or even building a whole house. Honest, upfront and very dedicated to making you happy with your finished product.

I chose Vogel Builders because Eric Vogel built my custom home and I knew he did impeccable work. All work was done exactly on time and perfectly within the budget. I added stained French doors, a dry bar and a stone façade around the breakfast bar. The quality of work on all three projects, far exceeded my expectations and working with Eric and his staff was a total pleasure. I would highly recommend Vogel Builders!

Eric and Cheryl built our dream home for us! The final result was excellent; and along the way, Eric was professional, punctual, and easy to reach. We could not be happier with Vogel Builders and would recommend them to anyone seeking a builder.

Total Kitchen remodel - remove and replace all cabinets, appliances, reconfigure islands (new design). Replace all interior and most exterior doors. Remodel / redesign fireplace. Eric was great to work with, had excellent vision, most of all he wanted us to be completely happy with his results and worked with us to ensure that we were! I would recommend Vogel Builders to my mom!

Added 4 car garage. Finished original garage to match interior of home. Addition looks completely like original home. Eric has his own standard of quality that surpasses any other company I've worked with, and in some ways my own. ;-) When I have another job, I will call him again.
