“Five star ratings from me are hard to come by. Steve and his crew earned a 10 star rating from me. There are many factors for me to give them that rating. This rating might ramble on a little but if your willing to read this you will understand why. When you have someone enter your home no matter how you slice it, it is invasive. Your personal space is no longer protected. The honest and trustworthy way they professionally went about there business and the type of quality people they are very quickly put our fears and concerns to rest. They took my wife and my concerns to heart during the planning and execution of the remodel/addition we had them do. In the middle of the repair process the covid-19 pandemic hit and they found a way to make our home livable until they could return to finish the job. There is a old saying that says, “every one has a plan until they get punched in the noise”. Steve and his crew faced the challenge head on and did the job as true professionals. They adjusted smoothly to changes in the plan and where very helpful in giving some ideas when we had a hard time piecing together some details to complete our vision. We had to blend old and new on a budget. Now we have a look that is seamless. It looks like it all was planned together at the same time. The building trade market is currently flooded with guys who don’t really know what there doing or are just dripping there toes in it to make fast money. Because of high demand and lack of qualified people it extremely difficult to know who to trust. One of our building inspectors said it best when he said; “you never have to worry about those guys, they always do the job the right way”. They did it the right way when it was extremely challenging to do so. You know if they do it the right way when it’s hard they will always do it the right way. Trustworthy, professional, flexible, quality work from quality people all done when it was tough to do so. That’s why I can say 10 stars.”

“We had Homework Construction do some smaller projects for us, and there was no question that we wanted Ken to do the kitchen remodel on our 25 year old kitchen in our 50 year old house, built on a slab. Ken is honest, highly skilled, thorough, creative, and respectful of budgets and timelines. He makes suggestions that are within budget, yet give you even more of the result you had in mind. There is no drama, even when the usual challenges arise, e.g., a totally rotted wall behind the old sink and dishwasher. Ken suggested a simple doorway expansion between the kitchen and back entry, which we hadn't even considered, but traffic flows so much better. He had to enlarge the cutout for our double oven, a huge challenge, done perfectly. The required custom build between the free standing hutch and upper cupboards with crown moulding is beautiful. The columns he created to house electrical on the hutch ends are perfect. He was our 'attentive advocate' when an electrician planned to drill holes in the upper cupboards; Ken insisted that the wiring go through the adjoining stock cabinet space. He did a custom cutout on the drawer below the electric cooktop to accommodate the wiring, so I actually have a functional drawer there. He suggested bumping out the wall to the adjoining garage so that we could have a counter depth 33 cf frig. He and his team were always most pleasant, arrived on time, worked dependably, and cleaned up after themselves. The Diamond cabinet rep asked to see the finished project; she was highly impressed with the quality of the work. “After initial delays due to supplier and subcontractor problems, and some communication issues, Omega came through with a wonderfully bright and useable new laundry room in what had been a dungeon of a basement. Dee Popovic (designer) and Jesse Oliver (project manager) figured out a way to adapt a layout we'd seen online into something that would work in our very tight basement space. Alan VanderMeer and Clay Sturgeon worked skillfully and tirelessly to manifest it. Although the project took longer than expected, we are very pleased with the final result. We got not only a new washer dryer, but a lovely room and - best of all - much needed storage space.”
