I’m sorry that you feel the way that you do. It is our goal as a local business for each client to feel special and delighted with the service they receive from us. It’s always unfortunate when a transaction doesn’t go as expected, as nobody wins in that case.
There does seem to be a few misunderstandings in the things you mentioned above that I would like to clarify:
Just Perfect! was hired to provide furniture options as well as selections for other design elements like lighting, wall color, flooring, etc. Our services and fees are based on the time and expertise that go into choosing pieces that bring to life a beautiful, cohesive aesthetic.
As with all products, it may be possible to find wholesale sites that are willing to sell directly to the public. Our business model operates differently than those online retail giants and we are unable to compete based on price alone. It’s certainly not that we’re over-charging, or charging above retail. It’s simply that, as with anything, there are some web-based companies whose buying power allows them to offer large discounts below retail cost, i.e 50% off retail. As promised, we did offer a 10-20% discount off the retail price as we do for all of our full service clients. While it’s not something we typically do, we provided manufacturer details as requested, which were used to find the items online. When you told us about the price difference, we could not afford to match that price, so we encouraged you to move forward with purchasing the items online. Since we’re a local company, many of our customers choose to purchase through us instead of an online site because of the customer experience and convenience that we provide that an online retailer cannot.
We continued working on the remainder of your project and never received notification of your desire to discontinue service or end our agreement. When we noticed that our communication efforts were not being reciprocated, we sent all final selections to wrap up the project along with a final invoice. After several weeks of no response to our outreach, we notified you of our intent to charge the card on file before doing so. If there was a dispute with the invoice, there was plenty of time and opportunity to return our correspondence efforts before the charge was initiated.
After learning of your dissatisfaction, we took it very seriously and wanted to make it right. We invited you to sit down with us so we could review the hours spent and work performed that were in question. This was not something you were interested in. As a small business that takes pride in every single thing that we do, it was difficult for us to leave this unsettled but we made every effort that we could and were unable to reach a resolution.
If you would like to discuss this further, we would be happy to do so off line. We appreciate your feedback.
