Staging works! And McNair Bishop of Room by Room delivered great results for us. She staged our property in a way that excited the prospective buyers, and we had offers over our asking price after the first day! I don’t usually write reviews, but I wanted to this time because I had such a wonderful experience. I recently worked with McNair and her team at Room by Room Staging & Design for the sale of our home, and they did an exceptional job. From staging to overall design, everything was thoughtfully done and beautifully executed. They also provided clear guidance on what to do, and what not to do, during the showing period, which was incredibly helpful. Within just four days of listing, we received multiple offers, and we are now waiting for closing. McNair is truly thoughtful, hardworking, and handled everything as if it were her own home. I honestly can’t thank her enough and this sale would not have been possible without her help. I highly, highly recommend her!

Updating my review of McNair. I have worked with McNair for nearly three years on a 1) major remodel of a newly purchased house, 2) the purchase of new furniture, 3) managing a move and 4) a full gut and remodel of a powder room. For the house remodel and furniture purchases McNair provided design ideas and helped to manage the projects. McNair is a pleasure with whom to work, and she is a great advocate for her clients when working with contractors and vendors. McNair takes the time to check the details. On the house remodel we refinished/changed the color of the woods floors, replaced the upstairs carpet with wood, replaced all the kitchen granite, painted the kitchen cabinets, replaced the screen porch screens, gutted and redid the master walk-in closet, replaced light fixtures, installed smart switches, and many little maintenance projects - given I bought a 20-year-old house from original owner As-Is. For the powder room, in addition to the design services McNair managed the project. McNair provided design options, and then she and I discussed the options. McNair has a wonderful approach and design sense. She knows how to collaborate to evolve design choices reflecting her expertise and my preferences and will steer me away from bad ideas. McNair was meticulous in managing the numerous vendors involved in the powder room remodel: the general contractor (framing, plumbing, electrical, gas line, and finish carpentry); stone floors; fabricated wall-to-wall counter for the sink, backsplash, and wall-to-wall shelves; wallpaper; sink; toilet; faucets; and lighting. We had some issues where vendors did not follow McNair’s crystal clear project plan and McNair both mediated between vendors and held vendors accountable. Over the last few years I have come to fully appreciate that McNair will represent my interests, make sure the details are both fully planned and follow up. Further, McNair is a wonderful person and has become a friend. Fall/winter, 2021 McNair created a beautiful and totally liveable home for my kids and I. And, working with her is a joy. McNair thought through the colors and patterns for the remodeling and for the purchases of the new furniture. She guided me in the new furniture selections and how to integrate what I had for essentially every room in the house. Yesterday, a neighbor did a socially distant tour and raved on the color selections for the walls. McNair integrated my kids into the process gathering their thoughts. Thanks to McNair the house is both elegant and creates a relaxed environment. My two teenage kids can't help chil'n with their old Dad in the family rooms. McNair also managed my move and coordinated furniture deliveries. I am a CEO and would never have been able to complete the house remodel, move, and furniture selections without McNair's guidance and support. I am truly grateful!

At the suggestion of our realtor we used Room by Room to stage our house in Arlington for sale. It was an older house with many smaller rooms and she did a fabulous job staging to bring out the charm and class of such a unique older house. She’s extremely knowledgeable and had many helpful suggestions beyond just the staging. The transition in and out went very well. Highly recommended.

At the suggestion of my real estate agent, we contracted Room by Room Staging and Design when listing our home for sale in Great Falls, VA. Dianne (our agent) insisted that using professional staging services was critically important when selling a high value property, and that Room by Room was THE staging firm with which to work. With the home now sold, we are grateful to Dianne for the recommendation and delighted with Room by Room for their execution of the plan! The three most important aspects of our work with Room by Room and owner McNair Bishop were these: (1) We perceived the contract to be "Fair Value" for the service. All the offers that we received for the home included some reference to the high quality of the interior architecture and corresponding design vibe. The latter is clearly a reference to the way in which McNair's staging caught the buyers' attention and helped move them toward a Buy preference. (2) McNair and her team were highly professional in execution and communication. Commitments made were commitments kept; Communication was as frequent as necessary without unnecessary redundancy or bother. (3) Room by Room accommodated a short de-listing period and negotiated an appropriate amendment to our contract that made sense for both parties during the period. I strongly endorse Room by Room Staging and Design and encourage home sellers to consider working with them.

McNair is a treat to work with! Her sense of style is excellent, with a refined, classic approach to decorating. She did a wonderful job of staging our 7,000 ft+ home, selecting some of our furniture and mixing it with pieces and accessories from her warehouse stock. She is creative and fun to work with and brings genuine enthusiasm to the task. Her team is extremely efficient and careful in moving furniture in and out of the house and assisting her to optimize the presentation. Anna and I strongly recommend McNair to anyone who is trying to upgrade the presentation of their house in preparation for sale. Her pricing is very reasonable and she brings great experience and expertise to the task.

McNair completely helped me reimagine my house. As a mom of two under two we had a need to organize our space for more store opportunities and create a play area for the kids. McNair spent hours walking the house with me and documenting options for how we could maximize space. She also helped line up movers to re-arrange furniture and move out some of my furniture that was no longer needed. It was a great experience working with McNair and I will be using her again (and recommending her to my friends)!

McNair carefully designed and staged my mother's home for us when we needed to sell it. I truly believe the staging money we spent was returned to us through the top dollar sale. Since so many people pre-shop on line, the pictures looked nice, the home inviting and livable. McNair was easy to work with and definitely went the extra mile, helping with paint colors, carpet selection, etc., as we prepped the house. She and her team are professionals and the whole process went smoothly. I would definitely recommend Room by Room Staging and Design.
