I had scheduled an onsite visit to my home with Dina to discuss paint colors with the idea that, in time, multiple other projects would be discussed in various stages.
Dina was on-time and polite and very knowledgeable. After receiving a paint color and recommendation, on August 7th, I asked for a painters bid. I communicated that I would like to be present when the painters arrive (week of 15th when I would be returning to the property). Her last email on the 7th stated “I will let you know of their availability”.
Fast forward to August 14th. I inform Dina I have still not heard from her or any of her painters and I am returning home this week.
Her response: You need to be home for the painters.
My response: Please see our email thread. I realize this. And I also told you the dates I return home.
Her response: ___________ (nothing).
Incidentally, I was asked to pay $175 about a day later from her assistant, which I paid promptly. When asked a legitimate question to her assistant I was responded to with a few unprofessional “LOLs”.
Lack of communication is a big turn off. Plenty of other choices out there.

I have worked with the The Designer's Niche since 2014. They have staged countless homes for me and each home I get at least 1 or 2 agents who say they love the staging. It is definitely worth the money to get your homes staged by The Designer's Niche.

We have worked with The Designer’s Niche for several projects. First they helped us redesign our kitchen layout after our house was gutted due to a hurricane Harvey tornado. They were very patient and considerate and helped us bring our vision to reality. They provided everything our contractor needed (detailed specs and drawings) to take out a wall and reconfigure the appliance layout as well as incorporating a much larger island. We called them once again when we decided to sell our house and used their home staging services. They staged the entire house beautifully and it sold in less than 30 days. Recently they came in to makeover a couple of rooms in our new home. My teenage son loved his room makeover. They incorporated everything we asked for within the budget and even added special personal touches based on getting to know him a bit through the initial consultation. The other room makeover was our upstairs recreation area which is now the hangout place for our teenagers and their friends. They again incorporated everything we asked for and made it a warm and inviting space. We will be working with them again this year for more home updates. They are very professional and great to work with!

I’ve always wanted to live in the model home and The Designer’s Niche designed my home even better than the model homes. I had a friend recently ask me, “do you ever just sit in your house, staring at all of the beauty”. The Designer’s Notch completely designed everything in every room. The paint on the wall, the furniture, the accessories, everything! I owe my home’s beauty to them!

I needed help getting my client's home staged before we put it on the market. Dina and Shellie helped create a design plan and implemented it quickly and efficiently. They were so professional, kind, and helpful. Totally transformed the house and made it warm and welcoming! I know it will sell more quickly thanks to their design!

I love Dina Holleron with Designer's Niche. She took my existing furniture and accessories, rearranged things, and totally transformed several rooms in my house. Everything is now very aesthetically pleasing, but also very relaxed and peaceful feeling. I am very happy with the work Dina did!

Working with Dina is such a treat for me. I have had her over 6 different times for individual redesign projects, and I tell her that I want my mantles to be a conversational piece for my family, and she puts it in action. I absolutely love both my mantles that she did. I appreciate the way she listens to what I am saying about my house, and how I want it to look. One of the projects involved adding some character to an arch in my foyer, and once the faux stone was in, I couldn't decided what color I wanted, so she happily painted it, and I kept it that way for a couple of months, until I wanted it to look a little darker, and she came back when I needed her, and she did her magic. In addition to her talent, I use their painter as well, and he is meticulous, and he does not make a mess or leave mess. I appreciative her professionalism and her choice in quality furnishings and finishes, and she just makes my home exude a timeless look. Thank you Dina for seeing the blue in black colors and the green in the brown colors. I just can't see that stuff.

May have improved since I used her 4 yrs ago, but here are the facts:
She did not have an assistant until very end of job. Was late for or postponed several appointments. Brought her toddler child to appointment at home that she new was not yet in my possession & let him run around unsupervised (got into a packing box of the people I was buying from). Had to hire a window dressing company to complete window dressings (she used a single long nail in center. shortly after she left on insulation day, it fell sideways - how I discovered its improper instillation). The window dressing didn't even fit the kitchen windows (assume - my speculation, not necessarily fact - that is why they were left on bed in master bedroom instead of being installed). The couch fabric was not properly stapled down. The person from "build a couch" where she got it never showed up to repair, A few of the "extras" were actually items out of her home (lamp switch actually broken). The contractor she personally recommended actually cussed ME out over the phone because the house key was not in lock box on door. It was HER husband who I hired to do painting (he is actually a good painter when he shows up) who had the key & put it in his pocket & went to lunch instead of putting it back in the lock box. She actually made some negative comments about this contractor & some of the work he had done for her (remember she recommended him to me) after things started going bad on the bathroom remodel. ect...There are a lot of other things that would make me not recommend her, but since those don't have facts to back up review, will not write them here. She did not 100% complete the faux paint job, but did reinburse me for unfinished job. Her husband left a check & letter on last day he was her doing his part of job. As mad as I was at that time, accepted the check & agreed to cut ties.

Comment from The Designer's Niche:
As with all stories, there are two sides. This review does not surprise me coming from this client, as he became unusually difficult to work with as the project went on and verbally abusive, and my efforts to resolve certain issues fell on deaf ears, so I let him go as a client and cut my losses. I worked with him over five years ago, so I'll be brief yet professional to the points made. I ultimately had to block communication with him as he harassed me and spoke very ugly to me both on the phone and via email, and nothing I offered was good enough. His job went unfinished (and refunded) ultimately when my husband went to do final punch out at Bob's home, and Bob stood in the room and verbally put me down over and over again. Sean asked him to stop a couple of times, or he would leave. Bob did not stop, and then proceeded to tell Sean to get out (using a few more choice words). I would never have chosen to end a job that way, and I refunded him immediately.
1.) At the time I worked for him I had one design assistant. Our company has since been blessed and I now have six wonderful designers, along with 2 moving crews, and 2 great contracting companies whom I can go to with any project, and we have a long list of happy clients.
2.) The toddler incident was due to a specific time frame he insisted I go to his home on a single occasion, and I first discussed with him that I had no child care for that time frame, and he was fine with it. As a professional I do not bring my children to work unless it is after hours and first discussed (and usually insisted and Ok'd) with my clients.
3.) The window incident was the day, if he remembers, that I hung the window treatment while he sat and watched, and I drilled right through my thumb. I asked if I could nail the window treatment up and have Sean come back and secure it for me as there was a lot of metal behind the wall. He was fine with that plan, however he ultimately told Sean to leave during the incident stated above.
4.) Build a Sofa was the company that sold him his sofa, and upon Bob's inspection by sticking his hand way down deep inside of the crease of the arm/back of sofa and feeling around, he noticed there were a couple of inches INSIDE of the sofa that did not have staples, and he was so upset about that he requested they go back out to add a couple of staples deep inside. Build a Sofa notified me they went out and took care of that, and I never heard a word back from Bob so not sure this is an accurate statement.
5.) I had a huge decorative palm tree and 2 custom arrangements that I told him I was selling, and he was extremely interested in having them. I brought them for his approval and he loved them and decided to purchase them. The lamp he ordered only needed a new black switch, which I provided. Everything in his home was ordered new or made custom, other than the palm tree and arrangements.
6.) The contractor he is referencing began having another issue at another client's home that was happening simultaneously with his, and I did not have any negative work from this contractor, unfortunately, until we worked with Bob. To this day, we no longer use that contractor due to the way he handled Bob's job.
We obviously strive to meet all of our clients expectations, and although there may be bumps in the road here and there, we know it's how everything is resolved that counts . We certainly tried our avenues to make Bob happy, but he became too difficult, and too many times resorted to verbal abuse and profanity so this was not a good client/designer fit. I wish Bob well.
