About Us

The House Whisperers was founded nearly 20 years ago by Interior Designer and Award-Winning Realtor Janne Anderson Burgio. She's been a featured expert on real estate radio and TV shows, as well as staging conferences where she graciously shares her many staging secrets. During the Great Recession, Janne saw an opportunity to help developers, real estate agents, and homeowners achieve quicker and more profitable sales by “staging” properties with distinct—but affordable—flair. The House Whisperers now stages more than 250 houses a year for some of Southern California’s most successful quick-turnaround investors, real estate agents, sellers, and development companies. Buzz built, word spread, and the company now also has a growing private interior design business. With projects all over San Diego County, the desert, and Los Angeles, The House Whisperers' client list includes international builders, movie executives, actors, pro athletes, best-selling authors...and now, hopefully, you!

Our average days on market is just a few days. We can stage any house up to 3,000 sf within a day or two with living, dining, master bedroom, kitchen and baths for $2,950, plus delivery and pick up fees of $250. Homes that also have a family room and breakfast area are typically $3,950, plus delivery. Pricing is for 2 months since most escrows take 30-to-45 days to close. Monthly fees after 2 months are 30% of the staging fee. Luxury and custom homes over 3,000 sf bid individually.

The House Whisperers have staged two houses for us, and they both led to quick cash sales at good prices. One was a contemporary and one was more than 100 years old, but in each case they matched the staging to the character of the house, and brought out the best. There was no drama, no damage, no fuss, excellent value. I'd use them again in a flash. The only problem was that both times my wife's reaction upon seeing the finished product was "do we really have to move?"

Our request to The House Whisperers (THW) was huge: transform the look of the house. The initial meeting was essentially an interior design consultation. My sellers took every recommendation from THW to pre-stage paint, & refresh flooring & countertops. When the staging was completed, the new look accomplished our goal to create an entirely new feel, & offer an updated experience of a 50-yr old house. We could not be happier with the results. Highly recommend these folks, they were professionals at every step of the process.

Fantastic transformation! We are thoroughly impressed with the fresh, relevant and vibrant look The House Whisperers created. I listed the downtown townhouse for sale, located within a luxury hi rise complex 1 block from San Diego Bay. It had been leased out for the past 10 years, and it needed a 'pick-me-up'. We fully painted the interior and replaced carpeting in the two rooms that have it. Followed with the staging project by The House Whisperers, the property now looks & shows like a model home. The team was great to work with, from the initial discussion to the estimate to the actual job of staging - these folks are fun, professional and know the business of interior design.

I gave The House Whisperers a 3 day notice to stage our entire 6400 square foot property and let me tell you they did not disappoint! Jann and her team turned the house from boring to spectacular and I couldn't be happier or more impressed. Jann has an incredible eye for design and detail. She knows what needs to be done to make your house shine. Even with the short notice, she and her team came through to make sure everything looked fabulous. There was great communication from Stephanie, the operations manager, too so I always felt I knew what was going on. in fact Jann's whole team including Eliza and Fernando were incredibly kind, and professional. I could tell that they liked what they were doing and were so happy with the finished product. I highly recommend The House Whisperers for home staging.
