Nathalie Hennebert Design

I’ve been in the construction business since 1989. Nathalie is the best interior designer I’ve ever worked with. She understands the construction process and patiently resolves any issues that inevitably come up with remodeling. Whenever we disagreed on a solution, we’d find a compromise that made us both happy. On this one project, she was there for our client to help move everything in. The day after, she was back to add the finishing touches. That’s impressive.

We hired Nathalie to help do our interior design in Charlotte, NC. We paid her 50% of her fee upfront. When we moved into our new home she was polite and helpful but didn't show any initiative and her design knowledge wasn't at a professional level. I contacted her weekly to keep the ball rolling but she would only respond to ask for more time or provide a sample or two. Weeks turned into months and all we had to show for it was samples that didn't work for our project and two appointments with ridiculously overpriced vendors. (For example a carpet bids she got us was for $6000 for a very small children's bedroom). She also had serious knowledge gaps; for example I asked her to pick out new hardware for our kitchen cabinets and she said she couldn't because the cabinets were already drilled. She recommended we paint the hardware. Our cabinet drill holes are a standard size and could have been easily replaced with a variety of options. Paint would have not worn well. We also asked her to oversee hardwood floor selection and install. (She didn't know that hardwood floors had to acclimate in place for a couple days and her selected vendor lied to her and told her they didn't need to acclimate so that he could try to fit our job in. I had to find someone on my own.) Additionally we asked her upfront if her fee was the only way she got paid. We did not want to work with someone who was making a percentage off of purchases as that often limits selection and drives down value. She assured us she didn't and that the fee we paid her was the only way she got paid. That wasn't honest. it was clear she was only taking us to high end (designer only) vendors who would give her a percentage. As suspected this delayed our project, limited selection and drove up pricing. She waited a month for samples from one wallpaper vendor who never delivered. I ordered samples on line and selected the wallpaper before Nathalie's contact even got back to her (same brands and selection as her selected vendor). I gave her coaching and feedback every month and never saw improvement. She didn't understand that you have to go to multiple vendors for each product or trait and then would blame the vendor for the time delays. As the months went on I ended up having to do most of the project myself. I asked her for our money back or to finish the project in a reasonable about of time. She kept our money and never finished our project. Her stated reason was that she felt she completed half the project. The contract was clear and she hadn't delivered anything listed on the contract. She only delivered samples, an overpriced carpet quote, a "vision board" deck and some general ideas from walking through the house a couple time for a total of 30 minutes. She kept over $2,500 for that work. Nothing was selected and nothing was ordered. It's a shame, she has good taste and is very personable. Unfortunately you can't build a business by taking people's money then not delivering.

Nathalie helped me with few projects around my house and I was extremely pleased with outcome. Nathalie's great personality, communication skills, attention to details as well as her passion and dedication to designing a project to suite clients needs are just a few great qualities for which would not hesitate to recommend her with 5 star reviews.

Gorgeous Nathalie Hennebert helped redecorate my house: living room, TV room, kitchen, master bedroom & bathroom. Would have never in a million years pictured what she´s done, creating with exquisite taste, warm and inviting spaces! She´s done an AMAZING job mixing color and texture, while keeping each room functional. And she kept to the timeline and budget!
