“Jen of JKate Designs recently decorated our income property in Ortley Beach, NJ. She selected paint colors, furniture, accessories and created layouts. She was easy to work with and talk to about likes and dislikes. She worked within our budget and the entire process was smooth. This house was an interesting challenge, as she had to work around some existing decor/furniture, that maybe we both would not normally have selected on our own, but it came with the house and we did not want to get rid of it all. She selected items/colors so that together, the "old" and new have created a beautiful, timeless look.The outcome is stunning and we could not be happier! The property has been listed for rent for about 2 weeks and we already have 5 summer weeks rented. we are convinced it's the decor and could not have done it without her. We are looking forward to our next project together.”

“We were referred to Jennifer Michael Design by our builder, knowing she came highly recommended. In the throes of construction, my husband and I could not have had more different tastes or hopes for our new home. Hands down, working with Jennifer was the one of the best decisions we ever made. She was able to listen attentively to both of us and translate the ideas into gorgeous and thoughtful designs. Her assistance with visual imagery, sourcing of options, and guidance throughout the design process was more than we could have hoped for. The result of her help is a home that we are proud to call ours. She combined the aesthetic that we were looking for with the function that a family needs for everyday life, working closely not only with us, but with our builder to insure even the smallest details were perfect. She has been and continues to be a patient and knowledgeable resource for any and all questions that come up even now as we settle into our home. The various technologies she uses really helped me to vet through many design options and understand what the final product would look like. “Charlene is an absolute dream to work with. After moving into a 2 BR condo in New York, I needed someone who could highlight the best qualities of the space and create a vibe that was both chic and cozy at the same time. I had a few ideas stylistically about what I wanted, but Charlene crystallized the vision and brought it to life in a way that I never could have envisioned. The priorities for the project were the kitchen, living room, and the main bedroom. At our first design consultation, we discussed fabrics, finishes, and color palette, taking into consideration not just how the pieces and textures would look together but also how each room would feel when you walked into it. What I appreciated most about the process is Charlene's ability to merge her eye for design with creating a space that was totally personal and also functional. I had a few vintage pieces with sentimental value that I wanted to incorporate, and we found a way to feature them among the more modern design elements. It was also important to me to include some items that were locally-sourced, and Charlene was able to find some really special ceramic pieces and lighting through her relationships with artisans in the Brooklyn area. She even found a local female-owned and operated painting company to do the limewash in the bedroom. How cool is that?? I am so thankful to have worked with Charlene on this project. She made the entire process seamless and fun, and no detail went unconsidered. The final space is beautiful and leaves me feeling relaxed and reenergized every time I walk in the door. I could not have asked for a better partner on this project.”

“Christie is knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to work with. She helped me choose paint colors, fabrics, sofas, coffee tables, lamps and more for my mid-century modern home. I wanted to keep it simple, but warm and colorful. Christie struck just the right chord. She also introduced me to sources for furnishings that I would not have known about on my own and saved me from costly mistakes and do-overs.
