“Mary Jo was a Godsend to us. When we first contacted her for our full basement renovation including the addition of a bedroom and bathroom, we were under an extremely short timeline. Although I knew making decisions in a short timeframe was far less than an ideal situation, she swooped in and came to our rescue! Her calm and professional approach and valuable input allowed us to efficiently make important and time-sensitive decisions about our remodel including paint color, tile and bathroom hardware selections. She delivered her expert opinions to us in a direct yet flexible manner and worked with our contractor in an extremely respectful and collaborative fashion. Despite the time crunch, she took the time to learn about our preferences and personal style and then made targeted recommendations to us. She was quick-to-respond to all our follow-up questions even after the 2 hour consult and was very generous with her time to help us finalize our selections. Our project was much-improved as a result of her expertise and targeted input and now that the construction work is done, I can see that our favorite aspects of the end product resulted from her direct influence. We recently started phase two of this project including seeking her guidance on furniture selections and placement and recommendations on things like carpets and window treatments. Now that we are able to work with Mary Jo at a more relaxed pace, we are really benefitting from her deep knowledge and expert input. Her “rules of thumb” are helping to determine the optimal furniture placement. When it comes to picking out rugs, window treatments and things like that, since she already learned our personal style, she is able to make targeted recommendations that really make the selection process easy for us. Instead of sifting through hundreds of possibilities, she is able to narrow it down to just a few solid choices for us. We are very grateful to have found Mary Jo. Her knowledge, expertise, direct communication and easy-going style have benefitted our project tremendously. She is our now our interior design guru and I highly recommend her!”

“We booked Live & Gather for their “Designer by your side” services and had a wonderful experience! Starr was incredibly professional, creative, and patient, even with my constant indecision! She provided excellent recommendations on everything from paint colors to light fixtures and helped me narrow down my design styles to best fit our space. She gave me the space to change my mind while providing her expert opinion and I never felt pressured to go with all of her design recommendations. The light fixture in our living room and the modifications to the fireplace are everyone’s favorite upgrades and help to set our house apart from the other houses in the neighborhood in the best way! Overall a great experience and we look forward to utilizing their services as we continue working on our house.”

“We hired Mrs. Janice Dietz of the Consulting House to assist in selecting materials for our new home that was under construction. Our project consisted of selections for flooring, plumbing, lighting, interior and exterior colors, cabinet design and all miscellaneous details and decisions that come with home construction. Janice is the measure of a great interior designer. She displayed expert customer service. She was readily available and met all time line requirements. Janice presented a good eye for color and knowledge of materials. For the entire process, Janice was endlessly proactive in advising and educating us. At no time were we overly influenced by her own taste or ideas. Her excellent listening skills allowed her to take our vision, taste and budget and transformed our project from good to gold. We found it to be well worth the investment in seeking out such a skilled and professional counsel as Janice and intend to utilize her services again for the selection and specification of furniture and accessories for our home.”

“I would recommend Jennifer for any type of interior project. She really listened to me when I told her what I wanted. I love her aesthetic and her work style.
