While my job as architect was to restructure the spaces of a three story vacation unit in an original Vail lodge from the late 60's, Elizabeth's expertise covered custom furniture, finishes and art & accessories selection. Once the new concept had been established we both worked together to bridge the gap between big scale architectural moves and the fine detail of texture, color and composition of the finishes and furnishings. She was open to following the concept down to the smallest detail and I was glad to learn from her how not to allow a concept to squeeze the life out of the elements that impart warmth, whimsy and sheer appreciation of the beautiful. The contractor and Owner found both Elizabeth and myself on site throughout the design and construction and especially at crunch time pitching in helping make the whole design come together on time and in beautiful detail. “Kasia was great at both decorating and being a general contractor at a reasonable fee. I was away during the entire project and she understood my taste (whimsy modern?) and managed to bring the project (a complete rebuilt of an 1,100sf appt) to completion with a small budget and time overrun (but I still know that she saved me quite a bit of money in many ways). She was great at communicating despite the distance and over the time-zones and at shepherding the project through Vail's permitting nightmare. Her subcontractors were honest and personable. I am delighted with the result and am glad to have had Kasia as my contractor and decorator.”
