“Lisa and her team at Lisa Scheff Designs have been a huge help to us across more than five years and two different houses! We worked with them on our previous house, where Lisa created the stylish yet serene transitional look we wanted for the living room and family room of our hundred-year-old house. We hated to leave her work behind when we built our new house but were able to bring some of her great choices along when we moved. On the new house, Lisa and her team helped us from square one. We started with a discussion of the outside look of the house, based on the floor plan and house style we had already decided. Lisa sat with me one day at the outset, and working together, we sketched out the entryway, the lines of the front of house and roofline, as well as the garage doors. For the deck/patio in the back, she helped us choose and design a special type of railing that maximizes our view over rolling hills and tobacco barns. Now it’s almost two years later and we totally love the way the outside of our house looks. It would never have happened without Lisa’s help. On the inside, Lisa helped us with design and colors, materials, and fabrics for almost everything! That includes all of the materials and design of the open plan living-dining-kitchen-breakfast areas, flooring, floor coverings, lighting, as well as bathrooms, including cabinetry, countertops/mirrors and fixtures. With her help, we chose some new furnishings, but Lisa also worked with us to integrate pieces from our previous house that we weren’t quite ready to give up. She coached us to think about and visualize what we wanted, working with us to create an interior that reflects our own tastes, preferences and budget. It’s been and will continue to be an ongoing relationship and process. After moving to the new house, we decided to take a breather and delay work on the bedrooms, and Lisa was completely agreeable to go at our pace. This summer, when we were ready to go again, she and her group dived right in, and now we’re working on completion of the master bedroom, including bed, bedding and draperies.
