Marina Cheban has a natural eye for design and a strong passion for harmonious living spaces. During her extensive work as a professional in the Hospitality industry, a chance encounter led her to work side by side a very well respected interior designer. Their combined efforts lit a spark inside Marina and so her journey began. Marina promptly enrolled at Parson's School of Design in New York City. Over time, friends and colleagues started noticing her work and innate talent, hiring her for freelance projects. In her time off from attending classes, Marina was able to build her portfolio, and after completing a lavish loft project her very own practice was born, Cheban Interiors. She understands the delicate balance needed in a home or business. The need for functionality as well as an inviting atmosphere are her guides through the design process. Ensuring her clients happiness is Marina's greatest goal. She takes pride in working one on one, getting to know her clients wishes and from there creates breathtaking spaces personalized for them. Marina's attention to detail and hands on approach, aids in the all important control of budget, deadlines and executions while delivering beautifully designed interiors.

I’m Claire Zee. Where am I from? Ironically, that question is one I’ve often found most difficult to answer. "Nowhere and everywhere all at once", is my best answer. Some might refer to me as a third culture kid, or maybe a nomad, but I like to consider myself to be a citizen of the world. Being half French and half Singaporean, I grew up moving around every few years, both within and outside of the United States. My experiences living overseas allowed me to travel to some of the most aesthetically pleasing and design-oriented places in the world. As a result, I developed an affinity for creativity and design. My style is constantly evolving, as it is highly influenced by the multi-cultural background I come from, and those I continue to seek out. I have always had a passion for interior design, whether it was spending hours in my room rearranging my furniture and things, or admiring the luxurious aesthetic of the beautiful hotels I was lucky enough to stay at. I take particular interest in the way in which people decorate their homes, according to their own cultures, lives, and personalities, and want to help my clients achieve a space that they not only love and feel great in, but that also represents them. I truly believe that interior design is a way of story-telling. To me, successful interior design should not only be beautiful and functional, but also a reflection of those who inhabit a space. I love getting to know my clients on a deeper, more personal level, and to be able to understand their lives, their loves, their cultures, and their stories. Everyone deserves a space that inspires.

My first professional project was designing a bathroom for one of my retail clients. At the time, I was a salesperson in a popular kitchen and bath showroom. It was through that first experience with interior design that I realized my industry was lacking what I considered to be a clear, organized process for implementing a design concept. This fueled my desire for more knowledge, which led me to earn my certification in bathroom design (CBD), then kitchen design (CKD) and ultimately, a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design (BFA). Recently, I earned a certification in Aging In Place (CAPS) - a designation that allows me to modify my client's homes so that they may stay in them, for the long term. I now bring an educated opinion to the table. My process is clear-cut, organized and something I am proud to share with my clients, as it saves them time, money and stress. Along the way, I've made mistakes, as all successful people do. But each experience has been an opportunity to improve the way that I do business. I am always looking to the future in order to make the design experience more beneficial for my clients, more efficient for my company and more personally rewarding for myself. Design should be a fun, creative process, for everyone involved: a concept that differentiates "doing one's job" from living one's life with joy. A couple recently told me that I was their "Rock Star Designer". I like the sound of that. Let's be rock stars!
