“I am immensely grateful that Susan offered me design consulting via an hourly package. We were buying a new “builder vanilla” home in another state, and I wanted to turn it into something beautiful and personal—but I was essentially starting from zero and desperately needed experienced guidance. Because the house was out of state, and because I’m fairly frugal, hiring Savvy Interiors for a full-service design wasn’t practical. Susan’s consulting option turned out to be the perfect middle ground. Our first major issue was the flooring—and Susan may have saved me from a $70,000 mistake. We have roughly 2,700 square feet, and I had convinced myself that I should choose very light hardwood in the widest planks I could find because that seemed to be where the market was going. But something kept stopping me from actually placing the order. I knew I wasn’t confident, so I followed my instinct and asked for help. Susan listened to me describe my style, what I wanted the house to feel like, and what I was trying to accomplish. We talked through the flooring, and almost immediately she knew which direction I should go. More importantly, she understood WHY it was right for my house rather than simply following a trend. The floors are now installed and they are beyond gorgeous. Every time I look at them, I am grateful I made that phone call. But the flooring was only the beginning. As we moved virtually through the house, I could bring Susan a question or problem and she would immediately see three steps beyond it: “Do this here.” “Make sure this balances that.” “If you do this, remember you’ll need extra space for that.” Those observations sound simple afterward—but they are things I never would have anticipated on my own. That is the tremendous value of experience. Susan has designed homes over and over again. Most of us do this only a handful of times in our lives. The knowledge that comes from having “been there and done that” a thousand times simply comes out naturally in conversation with her, and it can save you hours, money, mistakes and regret. She also has an ability I particularly value: she listened to what I wanted rather than trying to turn my house into someone else’s aesthetic. She helped me clarify my own design direction, make confident decisions and understand how individual choices would work together as a whole. Susan’s time is worth every penny—and then some. If you are building, remodeling or simply overwhelmed by major design decisions and aren’t in a position to hire a full-service designer, I cannot recommend her consulting highly enough. In my case, a few hours of expert advice affected decisions worth tens of thousands of dollars and helped turn a generic new-build house into more of a home that will eventually (when completed) feels like us. (We just took possession and put down the floors - next up furniture / paint / window coverings....)”

“Tanisha and Denise make an amazing team, we are thrilled with the results! We wanted to furnish our living room with a very unique "vibe". We wanted bold colors, but not brash. We wanted it to have character, but we didn't want it to be gaudy. We wanted character, but not kitschy. After sending Pinterest boards back and forth to each other, Tanisha was able to zero in on the aesthetic that we were looking for. After a few back and forths, I remember she sent us a Pinterest board and she said, "let me guess: you like this set up, but you don't like this piece because it's too loud. But you like the rest of it, right?" It's like she was in our head! Tanisha and Denise made this whole process fun! They challenged us to be creative, but reeled us in when what we wanted probably wouldn't have worked out as nice as we would have thought. They provided the perfect balance =) Their team put together a few 3D renderings, and completely nailed it. Then they started sourcing all the pieces that would become our new living room. It was a complex job, with some pieces coming from as far as Egypt! With a job this big, and the political climate being what it is (tariffs), we expected hiccups along the way. Their team informed us of the delays as they happened, and we felt up to date the whole time. We had different contractors come and help with the project, some for flooring, others for painting and tiles, another for wallpaper. Denise helped us manage the different contractors, invoices, and visited the job site several times to make sure everything was done well and held up to the strictest standards. Me and my wife both work, and Tanisha and Denise were SUPER flexible and patient with our availability. We are so thankful they were able to work within the confines of our busy schedule. We never felt rushed, and they still managed to keep us on track and within our budget. I could not recommend them enough!
