“Laurene, the proprietor of Eclectic Design, recently finished a major makeover of my condominium, and my partner and I are blown away. My unit was in dire need of an update and I didn't know where to begin. I knew that I wanted a more contemporary/transitional look, but beyond that, I was clueless. This is the type of situation where Laurene shines! She asked me enough questions to get a sense of my tastes and then proceeded to give me options galore. It was a fascinating process. She teased out what was important to me and what colors I was drawn to, and she was off! I was struck by her portfolio (which is why I contacted her in the first place) and trusted her to make great recommendations, and she did! She was able to look past the old wallpaper and popcorn ceilings, and envision a completely different look, one that made the most of the living room's vaulted ceilings and natural light. Somehow, my space seems so much bigger and airier. She also managed to enlarge - and beautify - the master bath without sacrificing any usable space elsewhere. The master bath is one of my favorite hang-outs! It's got a spa-like quality with its intricate tile work, stunning vanity, beautiful lighting and expanded floor space. She worked similar magic in all of the rooms in my house. We started with paint selections (from which everything else flowed), and Laurene brought together a palette of colors that was both dramatic and soothing. Her suggestions for furniture, lighting and artwork were spot on! I love the cohesiveness of the space, the lack of clutter and the overall "zen" feeling that I get when I walk through the door. I work from home, and she made my office an oasis - to the point that I have been asked several times on Zoom calls whether my "background" was real (it is!). The experience itself was more pleasant than I would have expected. I had anticipated a stressful experience, but Laurene (who has an amazing calming effect) has a contractor and team of expert craftsmen with whom she has worked for many years. Like her, they are professionals - detail-oriented, efficient, quiet (well, other than the demo stage, which couldn't be helped) and dependable. It was a huge relief to have someone else do the planning. Here is an abbreviated list of the things I truly appreciated about Laurene's management of the renovation: - She always gave me plenty of options (at different price points) - She kept a close eye on my project and was big on communication - with her contractor, me, her vendors, etc. - She managed my expectations very well, always letting me know what to expect the next day, the next week, etc. - She is very organized and provided a detailed cost sheet, which she kept current. - She demands excellence.
