We had an excellent experience working with AbbeyK on the renovation of our Boston condo. We needed structural work, kitchen renovation, space design, furniture, lighting design, wallpaper and painting. She was responsive and worked hard to understand our likes and priorities. We valued her direct approach and her creative solutions. She curated options for us, worked closely with contractor/trades, sourced items, selected fabrics with us, toured Design Center with us, and gave us practical advice to balance our priorities. She urged us to splurge where needed - and she was right! We love the trades she brought in - top quality painters, window treatments. She designed an amazing built in hutch/bar and built in bookcases and cabinets. We recommend her to everyone!

I recently refreshed my kitchen with new counters and backsplash along with lighting and some finishing touches on a bathroom renovation I was completing. I thought my small job would not interest a designer. After completing a search on the internet for designers that matched my style, I decided to take a chance and contacted AbbeyK. She was more than happy to jump in and help me! She was so easy to work with, very personable, worked efficiently and quickly and had great suggestions to help me bring my vision together! I would not hesitate to use Abbey again.

Was very pleased. I recently moved and was purchasing new furniture, changing paint colors and changing light fixtures. I worked with Abby for a few hours and she helped me narrow down colors, determine size and scale and placement. Was the best $ spent now that I will not be making costly mistakes or wasting time trying paint colors. Would absolutely recommend!

I have worked with Abbey for almost a year now and could not be more pleased! She has helped us with beautiful new upholstery and furniture decisions as well as curtains/panels and paint color changes. We hired Abbey to help us update our 1980’s living room to make it a place we actually wanted to spend time in. She listened to what we were looking for, offered options, was conscious of our budget, and designed built-ins that we absolutely love. Her knowledge and experience helped transform our living room into the room we spend nearly all of our time in now! We will definitely be working with Abbey again!

Abbey is truly an expert and wonderful to work with. We live in an historical church but our style is modern and transitional, and very much our own. Abbey was willing to work at my pace and she's very good at understanding what you want. She has great suggestions and great communication. We had a lot of fun and the work was done perfectly. Abbey helped me to find the perfect combination of colors and textures for our great room, bedrooms and master bathroom, For things which I had been looking for years, Abbey knew just the right people and companies that could do the job right.

Abbey is creative, fun, intelligent and a pleasure to work with! She is a good listener and was respectful of my decision to keep some of the furniture we had and reupholster rather than buy all new. She added some pieces that were quite nontraditional (coffee table and dining chairs) to my very traditional living/dining room which work really beautifully. She is organized, has a great sense of color and flair. My husband, who wanted nothing changed, just can't get over how terrific everything looks and keeps saying "You and Abbey did a great job". We could not be more pleased with how our project turned out and highly recommend working with Abbey-it was a pleasure!

Abbey was so helpful on a large renovation project we decided to undertake. Her understanding of color was particularly important so that all rooms were cohesive. While Abbey has excellent advice and recommendations, she never imposes her own style on you - she takes what YOU LOVE and makes it work - she has an excellent sense of proportion, scale, and knows "all the rules" but when push comes to shove, Abbey wants you to live in a house that YOU LOVE and makes SENSE for your family and the way you live. We could not recommend her more highly.

I had already started the total renovation of my 2BDR 2Bath condo when I had to fire my first designer. I found Abbey K through Houzz and the rest of the project became a pleasure. She worked well with my contractor on the remodeling and guided me through purchasing furniture, a new experience for me. I love my new space.

Abbey is awesome! We have used Abbey for both small and large projects (ranging from updating a few pieces of furniture and accessories to full room renovations). Abbey really listened to our likes, needs and the dynamics of our busy family. For the design, she always gave us several beautiful choices that were within our budget and gave us great advice throughout the process. Abbey was great at noticing the decor in parts of the house we were not working on and made the new design fit into the entire house. Abbey has a great sense of humor and is super easy to work with. She took care of everything and made our home beautiful!

I was having trouble finding the right furniture on my own. Abbey did a great job picking the right style and size furniture for my home. She had very good ideas and was great to work with. I would highly recommend using Abbey K. My house looks great thanks to Abbey.

I became familiar with Abbey's work as she had decorated a friend's home, which is stunning as well as comfortable and cozy. After trying to pull our home together after a remodel 10 years ago, I gave Abbey a call and in a few months our home finally felt like a home. I loved everything she brought to me for our appointments, yet it wasn't hard to make decisions as she had found exactly what would work best. Beautiful, comfortable living – Abbey K brought that serenity into our busy household. Back in 2013, having never worked with an interior designer before, we were apprehensive about the process but we were drawn to Abbey for her design talent and her delightful personality has made the entire experience a pleasure. Over the years, we have come to appreciate her more and more – for her perceptiveness into our design preferences, her thoughtfulness towards our children, her rare ability to balance details with a long term design vision, and of course her friendship. We are so fortunate that we dropped by Abbey’s office that one summer afternoon unplanned – she has truly transformed our once sterile yet chaotic house into a beautiful, comfortable, and serene living space that the whole family enjoys every day.

I have worked with Abbey several times over the last few years. I am so impressed with her services that I keep going back for more! The first project she worked on was my living room. It was a challenging layout but she was able to find the right pieces for the space in terms of sizing, balance, and aesthetics. She has a great eye and a great ability to decorate a room without overfilling it. I also liked that she showed me pieces in a variety of price ranges but never pressured me to go outside of my budget. I recently had her do a family room to make it more of a hang out for my teenage kids. She did a great job of picking out pieces that were kid friendly but still beautiful and comfortable. She even had my kids give input into the pieces that we picked. I find Abbey to be a very good listener, which is probably the most important characteristic for an interior designer. I would highly recommend her for any type of interior design project.

Abbey has helped me over 15 years with projects ranging from shoestring basement redos to complete Victorian house renovation and decoration with a healthy budget and a tight schedule. We are so grateful to have worked with Abbey. We wanted an adult but family-friendly living room and dining room. Because my husband and I lack artistic vision Abbey received little direction from us and had to work from scratch. She walked us through each component of our project with grace, humor and respect for our budget. Her professionalism and attention to detail astonished us. She noticed an antique tea set in our china hutch and found drapery fabric that echoed its design element! Abbey not only created rooms which are more beautiful than we had hoped, she also gave us a wonderful experience.

Abbey was involved in our house from the pre-cronstruction phase through the final furnishing. She helped us choose flooring, cabinetry, lighting, paint colors as well as furniture and carpets. We couldn't have been happier with the results. Abbey listened to what we said, and really understood how we live, and what we needed in a house. Then she took our needs into consideration, and came up with a final plan that we loved. Abbey wasn't afraid to voice her opinion when we were thinking of something that wouldn't have worked (such as in our kitchen design). In the end, she was always right! We were on a very tight schedule with the construction. Amazingly, our builder was on a faster pace than we were. Abbey always found the time to meet with us, and helped us make all the decisions so as not to keep our builder waiting. There was no way I could have made all these decisions in time. Without Abbey, I'd probably still be staring at paint chips! Our house was completed 4 years ago, and we still love it. Everything still looks great, and has held up over time. Most importantly, as we live in our house, we have seen how well thought out the design is, and how well its design and furnishings meet our needs.

We recently built a new house that was substantially larger than our previous home. After living in it for several months I hired Abbey to help decorate - it was the best decision I made all year!. Abbey helped with everything from placement of our existing furniture, to refinishing older pieces, to beautifully crafted window treatments, to purchasing new furniture, some casual and some very high end. Everything she recommended is well made, fits both the space AND our family (I have 3 young boys) and was reasonably priced. She also does a beautiful job of coordinating everything so you don't have to!

We purchased a condo in Boston and needed help with everything from paint to furniture. We found Abbey through a random Google search, we met and instantly knew she could create an inviting space for us and our family. Abbey is familiar with the local codes in Boston and is very professional in dealing with contractors and building managers. Abbey understands and respects a budget, which is important in doing a project. Abbey had wonderful ideas in making a sparse condo into a home. She has some great contractors who were extremely professional and attentive to cleaniliness of a job site. Although our project has been finished for a few years we still keep in touch with Abbey, she is a delight to work with. I would use her again in any project in Boston or out of the area.

When I moved in to a 1700 sq ft condo in Central Cambridge in 2008, Abbey worked with me to choose window treatments, light fixtures, and paint choices. She also organized the carpentry team that put in crown moldings and other detail work and the electricians who installed the light fixtures. Since then, I've worked repeated with Abbey on home decoration, including furnishing my dining room, living room and bedrooms with furniture, rugs etc.. I did it all in several stages with the final furnishings chosen this summer and arriving recently. Abbey has been fantastic to work with in every way. The teams that she has brought in were professional in every way and did spectacular jobs, and the furnishings and fixtures that we chose are all beautiful in both look and make. Most importantly, Abbey understands my tastes, works hards to make sure that the choices we made fit those taste, and in the process was a joy to work with in every way. I can't recommend her more highly!

We have worked extensively with Abbey on various projects for our townhome and then more recently during the construction of a single-family home. She is extremely knowledgeable, talented, attentive, and conscientious. Frankly I can't say enough good things about her. She has an uncanny ability to understand her customer's taste and then make suggestions that will appeal. She has helped us with paint colors, lighting plans and fixtures, window coverings, furniture, custom rugs, ceiling fans, bathroom fans, and more that I'm not remembering now. We get countless compliments on the things she has helped us select. In the rare circumstance where we have had a problem with an item she suggested or purchased for us, she has promptly helped us to fix it. Recently, for example, there was a problem with a light fixture we had bought through her. I needed a replacement part. She promptly connected with the vendor, figured out what had caused the part to fail, and had the part shipped to me within a day or two. She responds quickly by phone and email - always - and in many cases seems to know more about various products and options than contractors, architects, sales reps, etc. Unlike other designers with whom we have worked, who always seem to suggest the most expensive options and always prefer all purchases to be made through them, Abbey has consistently met our budget. She is willing to look through catalogs and magazines and help us select items even from low-cost sources. Bottom line is that she is a truly outstanding professional, and we recommend her to anyone and everyone we know.

Abbey was involved with getting our condo ready before we moved in helping with the paint colors throughout the whole unit. "Peaceful" "serene" were comments often. I had furniture reupholstered , drapery, curtains, tile backsplash selected and installed. We went together to showrooms when I was able , or Abbey brought selections to me for consideration. All in all it was fun for me with Abbey doing all the work. We have continued with her consultation on other matters since the beginning. I recommend her without any reservations.
