My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Interior design and independent lifestyle specialist Suzanne Hallam has been helping homeowners improve the functionality of their homes, and accommodate the growing needs of changing families for over 19 years. As a certified Aging-in-Place designer, Suzanne is passionate about integrating modern finishes with functional renovation. She is committed to helping individuals, multi-generation families and seniors live comfortably in their homes. Suzanne manages the tasks of designing, planning, sourcing, avoiding common renovation pitfalls and managing interior design and renovation projects. She pulls all the many pieces of the design puzzle together, to create a space that works for the entire family. From the first day we met, Suzanne and I connected. I knew that if I ever did a renovation, it would be with her. Suzanne was a pleasure to work with, having the plan and vision to give me my dream modern farmhouse kitchen. Her whole crew worked well, taking care of all that they did to create my new room. From the feature shiplap wall, to the fabulous backsplash and then my favourite, the pull out swivel pantry, what can I say. Suzanne knew what to do, and where to take me to make this all come to fruition. I look forward to working with her again for my next project, the powder room.

Suzanne was a very organized and detail oriented project manager, two attributes which I regard highly when working on a project. Her patience with the progress of this large project over covid was exceptional. She coordinated with the trades and always kept us up to speed on the when, where, how of our bathroom reno. The end result was amazing. Suzanne made structural suggestions that still please us to this day. One corner of our ensuite had 2 windows and was a large open area we simply couldn't find a solution for. Suzanne came on scene and suggested closing off one of the windows and making additional space for a makeup/styling table which was practical and is used daily. I would highly recommend Above & Beyond Interiors.

Suzanne worked very efficiently with us through all the changes we asked her to make. She kept constant communication with the contractor and us and ensured all the work was up to our standards.

Suzanne was the interior decorator we chose to help us achieve our dream kitchen renovation. Our journey began with brainstorming a list of wants and needs, looking at colours, spacing, budget, and estimated timelines for various planning stages. Suzanne guided us tremendously and with confidence through the design process and the procurement of materials. She supported us through the entire project, monitoring progress and handling any issues or concerns that came up along the way with professionalism and efficiency. Our new kitchen is so much more functional with fantastic flow, plenty of storage, and wonderful open workspaces for preparing, cooking, and entertaining. We would certainly work with Suzanne again and highly recommend her!

Very happy with the professional guidance we received from Suzanne on our new bathroom project. The design process was comprehensive yet efficient. We also appreciated her real-world experience, which led us to make some fun and functional changes to our original design. Suzanne connected us with her tradespeople who completed the build in a timely and cost-effective way. The end result is a showcase bathroom that you might see in magazines and web sites. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Suzanne. She took my limited vision for my space and translated it into a space I love more than I had imagined. Renovating and decorating through COVID was definitely challenging but Suzanne kept it on track and the final product is amazing. I now have a bathroom (with a walk-in shower), a walk in closet (with washer/dryer) and spacious bedroom. It started as two bedrooms and a small bathroom. Now it’s a beautiful and comfortable space to live. It’s my new happy place for sure.

I had the pleasure of working with Suzanne Hallam virtually for help with our sunroom addition at the cottage. She was amazing to work with and provided great insight, making me confident in pieces we were using, and really putting the whole thing together. She helped us with big picture ideas, as well as small details. She would give me an idea and then email examples by way of pictures. She really helped pull together the right colours and feel for the room so it would flow with the adjoining room in the existing cottage. We discussed flooring, lighting and fans, couches and chaise lounge (for a beautiful reading nook overlooking the lake) and more! It was an absolute pleasure having Suzanne on board!
