Amy has worked with our family for over 3 years and she is the best. She does a great job of channeling our tastes into a cohesive vision. She has helped us with everything from major construction plans to furniture design and decor. She's also great at coordinating with other vendors and running point on project management to ensure the final product is flawless.

AE Design has given my family our dream house and home. Every day I wake up so happy to be living in such a beautiful space, even a year later there's nothing I'd change. I first found Amy on Instagram after I'd seen a beautiful kitchen she'd designed with Schoolhouse pulls that I was in love with. I knew I'd be happy in many of the spaces that I saw in her portfolio. Lucky for us, she was able to fit our new house into her schedule. I did have a hesitation, I was concerned that we as clients were more than a bit "tone deaf" when it came to style - how would I know when we needed to be pushed even if we didn't like it, or when we needed to say no and hope for another option? What I soon learned was that Amy is a genius when it comes to interpreting her clients' true style even when they don't know it themselves. AE Design handled our remodeling and interior design. They worked seamlessly with our contractor. The designs were impeccable and they're such pros that they knew exactly when to show up to make sure that the work was being done as planned. Our contractor was fabulous, but even so, I was amazed at how many things they caught that would have been costly to fix or would have been annoying to live with - raising the shower and stove hood to accommodate my husband's height, changing the color of the wood of the built-ins to coordinate with floors, making sure the tub was in a better location, making sure the tiles had the right pattern, moving the lights over the island, and the list goes on. Once the house was ready I knew I wanted the same touch when it came to furniture - Amy was really able to understand what I wanted even when I didn't. She was very patient if something just didn't seem to work for us and would try to come up with another design that better suited our taste. We also had the constraints of needing furnishing that worked for two small kids, which she handled flawlessly. We love our space - it's comfortable, beautiful and functional and best of all it feels like us...if we had style. Thank you AE DESIGN!

We have enjoyed working with Amy to remodel and design our home. She can obviously design beautiful spaces, and she is very adept at working with contractors and subcontractors which is essential to having a remodel project flow smoothly. Having worked with other designers in the past, we especially appreciate that Amy very organized (many creative people are not!). She is also responsive and works well communicating via phone, text, or email. I appreciate how Amy takes our vision and comes up with something unique for us. Working with AE Design and Amy exceeded our expectations. We remodeled the full interior of the house and Amy was able to take on the full scope of design challenges including significant changes to the layout of the master bedroom and master bath, converting an unwieldy bar area from the 60s to a modern and functional family room and a relayout of the upstairs level to bring in more light and functionality. Furthermore, Amy took full ownership of working closely with the contractor to execute all the details. We admittedly underestimated the complexity of the project including all the finer details of fixture installation, electrical, tiling and cabinets but were pleasantly surprised to have many of these details thought through and resolved with few issues on our part. Amy and the team at AE design were critical to the successful completion of the project. Amy also did a great job taking on our design goals both in terms remodel, finishing and furniture selection, while also being receptive to feedback. However we found we often went back to Amy's original selections even small revisions, realizing why they originally made sense. Many months after the completion of the project we still find satisfaction in many design details that exceeded what we were hoping to achieve with the remodel. Finally, Amy was also respectful and collaborative of budget constraints in spite of the large scope of the project. We were presented with clear options and tradeoffs, and empowered to make decisions based on our constraints throughout the process.

Amy is a very talented designer, with an acute awareness to detail. She is very prompt, diligent and thorough with her designs and work product. She has access to extensive resources for goods and services, and collaborates well with others. Her assistance on our various projects has taken the finished products to a much higher level. She is highly recommended.

We wholeheartedly recommend AE Design! We renovated every inch of our house- flooring, paint, lighting, furniture, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, and a bathroom addition. Amy was very hands on, and as a result, the house is cohesive, functional, and beautiful. From bed linens and pillows, to window treatments, rugs, furniture, paint--every room is personalized and unique. She took our vision, and refined and elevated it. Our bedroom is a calm and spa-like oasis with white and blue and great lighting, but the loft is bright and contemporary, with a mustard sofa, hanging chair and wood grain wallpaper. We now have a welcoming home that is kid-friendly (colorful, rounded edges, so much storage), but also elegant and clean (custom furniture, high end fixtures). Even in the small details, Amy was thoughtful--because we were looking for art, she also got us tickets to The Other Art Fair, and we ended up finding 2 pieces for our house there. Her team and everyone she worked with was great!

Amy did an incredible job on interior design for my home. I used her to design and furnish the living room as well as finish the dining room. We hired her after not having the best experience with another designer shortly after moving into a new house and we are very pleased with the results. Amy is extremely professional, has excellent communication skills, and is very reliable. Amy listened to my needs and the look I was aiming to achieve for my home and put together a CAD floorplan that I immediately fell in love with and came up with ideas that I didn't even think about to accent the home. I also appreciated that Amy had all the furniture deliver at once which minimized delivery fees and made the room feel completely transformed. Amy is an excellent designer. She makes sure her customers are taken care of in every possible way. Her design knowledge is very impressive and her taste is impeccable. She is very calm and mindful when making all decisions. She knows how to read her clients and best serve their needs. She transformed a small basic room in our home and as it turns out it's become our favorite hang. It's absolutely gorgeous, very functional and super comfortable. Very professional, knowledgeable, easy to work with, cost conscious, on time and most important- amazing work!. Amy designed two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We have a California ranch house and she was able to update the home while blending the old and the new design.

I couldn’t be more thrilled with my experience working with Amy. I was initially apprehensive about working with a designer in another state (Amy is in California, i’m in New Jersey) especially given i needed help with things like selecting paint colors, and figuring out floor plans. But after our first FaceTime session Amy immediately put me at ease and throughout the process i never regretted for a minute not working with someone local. I love interior design but felt overwhelmed at the process of renovating a decorating a home. Amy took all of my opinions into account and gently steered me towards a more sophisticated and polished version of my original vision. I would have never considered many of the pieces and sources that Amy had up her sleeve but they really made my home feel so much more unique. She did an excellent job of guiding me towards what to spend more on, and what to save on (i had far from a limitless budget!) and also helped broker differing opinions between me and my husband - suggesting solutions neither of us would have come up with and making us both happy!

I contacted Amy of AE Designs to help us convert our home office into a nursery for our baby girl. I was really unsure of what direction I wanted to take this room and Amy could not have been more helpful and easy to work with. Amy brought in some amazing ideas regarding furniture layout, colors & furniture. She was also a huge help in finding storage solutions for such a small space. She really transformed the space completely, even while sticking to our budget. We will definitely be contacting her again for our next project!

I cannot say enough with how pleased we are with the design of our new home. We had very large spaces, an odd layout and a need to work with a number of existing furniture and art, none of which posed any challenge or obstacle for Amy. We first worked with Amy when looking to furnish our apartment in Manhattan. Amy has a wonderful eye for space and design. She has helped me with several projects, including most recently selecting office furniture for our home office. When we moved into our current home about two years ago, she helped us figure out a good layout for our awkwardly-shaped living room/entry area. She was great with getting us to visualize the space based on what we wanted to do with it, what furniture we had, what we wanted to keep, what we wanted to/should get rid of, and what new pieces would fit best (we needed a new couch and she helped with that as well). She did this all with a wonderful, open, helpful personality and a seriously keen eye for colors and textures that work in an everyday setting. My husband and I recently moved to the city and downsized(empty nesters)and we were determined to have our "dream" home--filled with modern, clean lines, elegant with touches of whimsy.
