Considering our job for Alison was three hours away and included combining two houses into one, she did a fantastic job. It was a really overwhelming thing for me to do, so I needed a professional. AGI fit the bill! Not only did she get my style and reuse lots of my existing furniture, her additions to my collection were perfect for the farmhouse. She did such an amazing job that she got our home in a magazine and on the front page. Brava Alison and team!

AGI is absolutely amazing! We LOVE our living room design and are proud to entertain in it! It's exactly what we wanted, a beautiful mix of rustic farmhouse and soft, feminine touches. I cannot wait to use AGI's design services again in the future! I first came to know AGI by following Alison's design work on IG. Her taste is impeccable and her method to design is so approachable. After my husband and I moved to the East Coast and into our home, I was having trouble with coming up with a cohesive look for our main living area and deciding on an effective and attractive design plan. I feared purchasing big-ticket items and having design remorse, and so I decided to ask AGI for a quote to see if this was a feasible option. From the moment my husband and I had the phone consultation, I knew Alison would be amazing to work with. Alison is intuitive, a great listener, and an effective problem-solver. She took the design challenges we were having (e.g., chopped up rooms and a long, narrow living room), gave solid recommendations, and was adaptable in moving forward with plans within our budget. I appreciate that Alison doesn't push an unrealistic budget. My husband and I have two young kids and she was very responsive to coming up with a design plan that fit all our needs. The design choices that she presented were also options I had never considered myself (despite my own extensive research) and so it was refreshing to be given better ideas than I could have come up with myself. Alison also willingly shares any information she has that will better the project and is very communicative. I love that she offers the wide range of services, from e-design to full design work. We consulted with Alison Giese on our complete kitchen renovation which included moving an exterior door and removing an interior wall. She provided insight on how to best layout the new kitchen to maximize the newly open space, as well as recommending added touches of elegance to the design. Her feedback and answers to our many questions helped us prevent any post-renovation regrets (which there would have been several without her expertise) and our kitchen has become the centerpiece of our home.

Alison was so amazing to work with on designing our new kitchen. She created a space far beyond our expectations! It’s timeless, warm, inviting and completely unique which is what I really wanted. She has such an attention to every detail including where the outlets should be and what they should look like. I still am impressed by her ability to pull our entire wish list together seemlessly. Alison combines all the creative, visionary, and insightful talents of the very best designers with an extremely rare set of personal qualities that make working with Alison Giese Interiors an absolutely enjoyable - and fun - experience. Alison transformed our 1920s craftsman style bungalow; she effectively produced a brand new home for us, without our family needing to move from the current house we love. This was a big project - the first significant work since we moved in 14 years ago. We cleared our entire first floor of all furniture, fixtures, wall art, area rugs, etc. Alison and her team went to work on a blank slate, bringing out the best of our historic home while building in modern conveniences and styles; incorporating items meaningful to us and our family; reorienting our living room in a manner we absolutely love (and never would have imagined on our own); and focusing our spending on the items (like our sectional) where we'd get the biggest return. There is a natural tension with these projects: the client hires the designer to do the project yet wants, at times, to exert control over it. Managing this relationship takes a unique mixture of patience, self-confidence, expertise, and natural people skills which even many well-intentioned designers simply don't possess. Alison has these diverse qualities in abundance - they seem to be a natural part of her personality. I can't imagine many decorators making their first client presentation at a hospital because the client's son was receiving emergency medical care or so promptly responding to our questions and concerns amid such a busy schedule. Alison seemed to effortlessly - without drama or confrontation - be able to say "No" to our ideas when they were inconsistent with solid design principles and gently keep us on course. At the same time, she was eager - and excited - about including unusual, rare finds that were out of the ordinary. Alison never steered us to the most expensive item, was always conscious of value, and always open to alternatives as long as they were in keeping with the design. Not only did Alison Giese Interiors produce a plan, but Alison connected us to two of the many contractors with whom she has relationships. We typically thoroughly research contractors (multiple bids, references, etc.) particularly for major jobs. Instead, we put our faith in Alison; using the detailed to scale design drawings Alison Giese Interiors produced and operating smoothly thanks to the strong working relationship with her and her firm, our contractor (Bedrock Builders in Baltimore, MD) implemented Alison's plan perfectly, on time, and even slightly under budget. With its skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented craftsman, Bedrock Builders brought to life Alison Giese Interiors' amazing design. With so many nightmare stories about decorators and contractors, it's so refreshing to have had such a wonderful experience - from beginning to end. Alison is fantastic. My mother-in-law moved in with us. We wanted to create a space for her in the basement level of our house that she would enjoy. We had a few furniture pieces that we wanted to incorporate and knew what functionality we wanted but we didn’t have the design expertise to pull it all together. We hired Alison to put a design together for us. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome. We have a warm, stylish space that meets my mother-in-law’s needs and looks great. We absolutely love Alison’s work and love the outcome!

Alison Giese is an amazing designer. I own a Kitchen and Bath in Baltimore and I had the honor of working with her on one of her projects in Va. Her vision is amazing , she is so easy to work with and listens to her clients and never misses a beat. I cannot wait to work with her again. Alison is an awesome interior designer. She listens to your wants/needs and creates a vision. My condo was a boring ugly box and she created a fantastic timeless parisian chic home. Friends and family can’t believe the before and after difference, a friend recently said "why would you ever want to leave"...LOL. I highly recommend her and would use her services again.

We found Alison through HOUZZ and were so pleased with the outcome! The AGI team designed and managed our master bathroom renovation, in addition to several smaller projects, including lighting, artwork and window treatments in various parts of the house. We set aside a generous budget for the bathroom renovation, and wanted a design team to ensure that it would be beautiful as well as functional. Alison and Gretchen were a pleasure to work with. They are approachable, responsive, have great vision and are open to feedback from the client. We LOVE our new bathroom! It's absolutely gorgeous--definitely a space that we actually enjoy being in now (compared to the old bathroom). We also love the way the smaller projects turned out. The added design elements have upgraded our main living areas, making our house feel more cozy and complete. We would definitely use them in the future for other projects.

I highly recommend working with Alison Giese Interiors for any of your interior design needs! I can't say enough how happy I am with the final product, but more importantly the whole process. We hired Alison to design our very open concept, living space, while living abroad for our planned move back to the States. We had previously sold a home that had staging design done and learned wholeheartedly how the right furniture and right layout in a home made such a big difference. Alison was so easy to work with throughout the process. I really appreciated how much care she took to understand what our project was, what we required, and if we were a good fit to work together. Alison was upfront about costs, timelines, and the process. I put together a pinterest board with my ideas, furniture I already owned that I wanted to use, and different "dream" pieces. Alison came back with a thoughtful design to really utilize the whole space, one that I would have never thought of myself, but that made perfect sense for our family. The initial shopping list was under budget which was a huge plus and gave us some flexibility for extras, changes, and fun items. The proposed furniture, colors, and style were awesome in that Alison took my pinterest ideas and made them real without copying those same things. I LOVED every piece that Alison suggested, and on the one or two I didn't agree Alison was happy to suggest alternatives. I love how Alison captured exactly the style I wanted! Most importantly, I would have never ever thought of or found those pieces on my own, despite spending time looking at the same stores. I hired Alison and her assistant to come do a final styling once almost all of the furniture arrived, and am so glad I did. I wasn't sure how to use all of my old knick knacks and accessories, and was sure I'd have to go buy all sorts of new detail pieces. Lo and behold, Alison and team used all of my own art and accessories to really style the space, again in a way I would have never thought to. Thank you!!! I love my home even more than I thought possible!
