Fearless Color and a Fresh Sense of Whimsy! As an interior designer and decorator, I enjoy creating beautiful rooms that are also comfortable. Color plays a key role in most of my designs. My projects range in scale from redesigning a kitchen or bathroom, to designing every interior detail of a newly constructed house. While most of my work is inspired by traditional architecture and interior design from the 1920’s and 1930’s, I am just as comfortable working in a warm contemporary style. Anyone designer can do a white or grey home - No one can do a House of Color like Alison! We have worked with Alison twice; and both times she has given us rooms that make you light up when you walk into them! I love my rooms of color! Both my husband and I have different tastes but she was able to find a common ground that made us both happy! She is one in a million!

Alison recently remodeled our kitchen and den and we couldn't be happier. From soup to nuts -- the overall design, to the smallest detail (a light switch cover plate ) -- she pays close attention and has impeccable taste. She's a pro's pro. Alison has a strong sense of how everything should look, but what's wonderful about her, is she's a great collaborator. In the end, it's imperative that the finished design and look reflect your sensibility and taste. She was also extremely responsible about our budget constraints -- we finished remarkably close to our initial budget. Alison always presented us with options when it came to what something would potentially cost. There was no question or concern she wouldn't answer promptly -- no matter how busy she was that day. Besides having a great sense of design, she's easy-going, and a pleasure to work with. You'd be luck to get her!

The best decision you can make when decorating your new home…is hiring Alison. She is a pleasure to work with, has great taste, is highly organized and her attention to detail is most impressive. We built our new home from the ground up and brought Alison on to our project shortly after hiring our architect. She redesigned our entire upstairs, along with customizing details throughout, while addressing our needs as empty nesters. In addition, she added countless features we didn’t even know we needed and helped us with absolutely everything. She did an outstanding job and the reviews have been raves! With every new kitchen picture we saw we became more confused, not being able to determine what we really wanted. Thank G_d for Alison, she would gently smile as if you say, relax a little and enjoy the experience you are about to embark upon. Alison was able to filter all the noise and from soup to nuts implemented a beautiful kitchen for us. With her intuitive nature, she was able to home in on what we wanted without us even knowing it. She took charge of the project, coordinating everything, while at the same time listening to all of our wants. Words can't describe the value she brought to this project!!!!

Alison was amazing to work with. We brought Alison into our project after the plans for our renovation were already completed. She identified problems with the plans and worked with us to make some very important changes. Her interior design support was excellent and she respected our tastes and wishes throughout the process. Alison is the total package! She interior-designed a substantial remodel of our house including the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, halls, family room, gym, and master suite. Her ability also involved collaborating with our architect. Her beautiful design included all the finishes and fixtures --electrical, plumbing, paint color, furniture, hardware, window treatments, wall treatments, floor treatments, furnishings, etc. Essentially, she did it all!!! Alison decorated our new home from top to bottom and it is perfect down to every last detail. My favorite thing about her is that she really enjoys getting to know each client's tastes and tailors spaces perfectly to each one. Each member of my family has very different preferences and she managed to design everyone's dream space while blending them together seamlessly. Having never worked with an Interior Designer before, we weren't sure what the experience would be like...we wondered how our vision and taste would match up with our designer and if we could bring our vision to life. Well, with Alison Kandler we achieved both. She listened to everything we said, and she was able to literally design the house we imagined. She was patient, informative, honest and caring - she provided us with choices, ideas and when we weren't sure of something, she confidently explained why we should trust her on certain items. She was much more than a designer for our home - she was involved with helping us to determine the proper lay-out of areas and the overall concept. All of her recommendations turned out to be the right ones - her taste in furnishings, fabrics, lighting and decor were spot on.
