AMi Design is home to interior designer and founder Carmela Acerra Posillico. Her portfolio includes numerous interiors varying from residential to commercial clients, and from traditional to contemporary styles. Opened in 1988, AMi Design's vision has always been to create timeless interiors that are customized for each client's individual needs. Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Carmela began her passion for design at an early age. Helping her father, a cabinet maker and furniture designer, Carmela developed a love for fine architectural craftsmanship which helped to earn her Bachelors degree at New York Institute of Technology. Prior to AMi Design, Carmela worked for Long Island architecture firms and taught interior design at Parson's School of Design. AMi Design offers the utmost in design creativity, spacial innovation, project detail, and product quality. Carmela's talent, experience and practical approach to design are what make working with AMi Design such a pleasure. She makes the process simple and easy she is an easy-going person and is a great pleasure to work with. We started to work with AMI Design in the summer of 2017 when my husband I wanted to redesign and refresh the first floor of our home. Carmela quickly learned our taste so that she was able to suggest certain furnishings and design aspects that were a perfect fit for us. Our redesign included new millwork, painting, wallpaper, window treatments, rugs and furniture, some new appliances and lighting and artwork. We worked on a timeline that fit our budget for the project. Once the downstairs was finished we started work on the upstairs which included new hardwood and doors, molding, wallpaper, window treatments and some furniture. Carmela was always very professional, punctual, energetic, full of ideas and kind. She is very easy to contact and is always quick to reply. Especially in the beginning since we had not previously worked with an interior designer, she explained the entire process and the order of approaching a design of a space. Our house is now a home that our entire family enjoys. We are excited to finish the upstairs renovation/design and in future years when we are ready to remodel our kitchen and bathrooms, we'll be excited to continue our work with Carmela and her team.

What I liked the most was that she asked a lot of questions about what I wanted. She narrowed things down so that the selections would not be overwhelming. She then would give her opinion, but only after I gave mine. and ultimately the decision was mine to make. In addition, I was working with a budget and she respected that. She is also well regarded by many of the vendors, which that in itself says something. I would use Carmela again without reservation.
