On March 31st, we filled out their questionnaire and stated that the inspiration was our favorite hotel, and that we were interested in deep, saturated greens. On May 1st they gave an in-person consultation. They told us our initial budget of $25,000 was low, and that $50,000 would be more reasonable. The project is a Primary Bedroom and no major demo is involved. They charged a $5,000 deposit when we signed the contract on May 9th. We provided inspo photos on May 18th. On May 31st we visited their office to view a mood board and give feedback. On June 18th, several trades people were brought to our house to create estimates for items/work such as wallpaper, paint, and built-in furniture. Throughout May, June, July, August, and the beginning of September we were not presented with photos, we were not asked any questions. We were presented with monthly bills for $1300, $2800, $1300, and $1700. On September 10th we visited their office to see the final design options they had selected. The final package they presented came to a total of $100,494.54 for a Primary Bedroom with no significant remodeling other than a built-in. This price does not include additional Admin, Design, Travel, etc; costs from the team for redesigns and continued project support. The final result was a major disappointment. We didn't like anything they selected, and the proposed design doesn’t include any elements from our into photos. We cancelled our contract, making this a $12,247.30 lesson learned. Our inspiration photos were filled with deep greeds and velvet fabrics. We mentioned jewel tones many times, and our other big descriptor was "luxury boutique hotel".
