Our firm has built a 30 year reputation on being innovative and client driven. Our team handles it all, "from concrete to sheets." AMID is a Chicago based interior design firm that also works in Arizona, Florida and beyond. We specialize in upper end interiors for private residence, yacht, and boutique hospitality. Our firm grew from the vision and creativity of its principal and founder, Mr. Anthony Michael. For over 30 years he has brought clients from across the country a unique perspective and uncommon level of attention and service. He creates interiors that are a meaningful and unique expressions of our client's personality and style. Mr. Michael specializes in classical, contemporary, eclectic interior design for residences, kitchen and bathroom design, remodelling and commercial projects. Renowned for his ability to meld styles from across eras into a cohesive, comfortable space, he takes his cues from tradition but is not afraid to pair new and old. An extensive knowledge of architecture and design history gathered from travels around the world add dimension to his work and bring clients a global design perspective. He studied at the acclaimed L'Ecole de Beaux Arts in Paris. Soon after, he became the designer of choice and trusted partner to some of Chicago's most influential residents. Anthony Michael & team did our condo in Lakeview and we are so thrilled that we had the chance to work with them. Our place is now stunning! They took the few ideas we had (eclectic, modern, asian inspired) and really ran with them to give us the condo we always wanted. Neither my husband nor I are design experts and we tend to be super indecisive, so we really appreciated the extra hand holding they gave us throughout the entire process. Also, we had a strict budget and even though our project is on the smaller end for what their team normally does, they were very accommodating with our budget to give us the polished look we wanted at a price we were comfortable with. Anthony just completed a drop-dead gorgeous installation of our place here in NYC overlooking the East River. We have worked with Anthony for more than 2 decades. He never ceases to amaze, from our first condo to creating a beautiful bi-level suburban ranch to now, a high-rise in Manhattan. He is innovative yet classic. We refused to use anyone here in NYC and waited for Anthony to do his genius work. He understands the client and demands the very best of everything. He is nimble with the clients' desires; yet having only the highest standards for his work. His design team is trustworthy and consistent. They treat you as though you are their only client.From suburban houses to Manhattan sky-rises- we will have no other. (Yes, he is that good).

I have worked with Anthony Michael over the past thirty years on numerous different projects and his talent is remarkable. Anthony and his team designed and furnished my first condo, my homes and designed my dream home from the ground up. He takes the time to understand his client's style and lifestyle and creates a living space that is stunning yet useable. In my opinion, he is an interior design genius capable of changing a space from ordinary to extraordinary with furniture choices and arrangements, wall covering, lighting, artwork... He and his team are professional, personable and a pleasure to work with. We recently purchased an old, nondescript ranch style house in Florida because I knew he could transform it into a beautiful home, and he did.

We hired Anthony Michael to redo our front living space and dining room and we were so blown away with the redesign proposal that we decided to also redo our powder room, kitchen and family room. Anthony really takes the time to get to know you and your space and creates a design to fit your lifestyle altogether. Our home was transformed from a hodgepodge of furniture with lackluster style to a sophisticated, elegant yet practical space with character. Completing our redesign at the start of the pandemic brought on a new level of challenges, but Anthony and his team were there every step of the way making sure that no detail was spared. If something did not meet Anthony's standards, he made sure it was taken care of immediately. In addition to the style ingenuity being top notch, Anthony and his team are attentive, responsive, considerate and timely. What was once the least utilized space in our home, the front living area is now one of our favorite rooms to spend time in. If you do not want a boring, cookie-cutter home but a stylish and unique space that is also functional and livable, then look no further than Anthony Michael!

I used Anthony Michael Interior Design for the renovation of my Chicago condominium. It was a complete gut rehab and design. The principal, Anthony Michael and his amazing staff did a wonderful job. Since I live in Arizona and rental unit is in Chicago I left everything up to Anthony and his knowledgeable staff. Materials, paint color, cabinets etc. They knew what I needed and what would work. I flew to Chicago for a reveal when work was complete and was dumbfounded when I walked in. I could not believe how beautiful the condo was. I could not be happier. The quality of the materials and workmanship is top of the line. I highly recommend AMID, visit the website and you can see the incredible work this renowned interior designer has done. Truly the epitome of professionalism and fun to work with.

Anthony did a fabulous job and we love how every part of the home looks. While you may be anxious to get all projects done quickly, it is more important to choose designer that is meticulous and pays attention to every detail. It is your home and you need to have patience and not make it a rush job, or you will not be as happy in the long run. Another reason we really like Anthony is that is not a “one size fits all” designer. He is very specific to each clients individual needs and tastes. They are by far the best design firm in the city of Chicago and I will continue to refer them.

Anthony Michael and design team, it is difficult to put into words how perfect our new home is coming together under your keen eyes. What impressed me most was your ability to help us identify the feel/vibe we were searching for and then introducing elements I would never have dreamed of pairing together yet they worked so beautifully. We have only had a few guests in the new place so far but the complements have been rave and more than once it has been suggested the home should be photographed for a magazine. You stayed true to the simplicity we were trying to create but brought it to a level of elegance beyond my expectations. I had multiple team members here help assist me in ordering the furniture I wanted and it was a quick and easy process, had the couch of my dreams in less than a week! Over the past year our company has worked with Anthony Michael, on a personal and business level. In that time, we have helped Anthony Michael with clients, resources and professional advice. In return Anthony Michael has showed us how unprofessional and insolvent he and his company really are. For the past 8 months we have been trying to receive compensation for a good number of jobs we have manufactured and installed for his interior design firm and clients. A number of which we were asked to assist in fixing problems from past vendors. With Anthony Michael’s untrustworthy and dishonest behavior towards his clients and contractors. I DO NOT recommend Anthony Michael Interior Design Firm.

As a firm with a 36 year history of impeccable, award-winning design, we find it unfortunate that our attempt to offer small jobs to an up-and-coming company was met with failures to perform, complete, and execute those tasks. In an effort to protect our rightly dissatisfied clients, balances on those incomplete projects were never asked of them. Our firm is in the process of pursuing legal remedies.
