About Us

I launched my business a couple of years ago as Keep What You Love Design helping people to move into smaller spaces by reducing clutter and redesigning their new home with their favourite furnishings, artwork and accessories. With my new brand of Artful Design, I am more focused on designing with a client's must-keep pieces to create a personal sense of balance and harmony in their home. As a choral singer, I see each room as a complete ensemble. Harmony is reached through the effective balance of scale, colour and texture. Rhythm is created with shaping and lighting. Solo voices are those lovely statement pieces that echo your true presence in the space. There can be great beauty in a designed space without people in the picture. Artful Design places you in the heart of your home.

Lisa nailed it! I was looking for help with a new home office and Lisa was amazing! She was able to meet with me within a few days of our initial contact! Lisa has the ability to see the potential in a small room, even one cluttered with oversized furniture and "stuff". Even though the room was an awkward shape with two parts of different sizes, Lisa was able to come up with an effective design to create two distinct spaces - one office and one TV relaxing area. She provided ideas for paint colours and fabrics and canvassed local suppliers to find suggestions for the various elements that would make the room feel spacious yet functional. I needed a custom built work area because of the limited size and shape of the office side and she got the quotes and then dealt directly with the contractor I selected to ensure that each step was completed satisfactorily. Each side also showcases some of my art and collectibles in ways I would never have considered if left to my own devices. Enroute to this "problem" area of my house, she noticed what was happening in other areas and offered several easy to implement suggestions that have led to an overall brighter and more spacious feel for the whole house. I didn't really understand "space" and certainly couldn't make it happen in my small house on my own. With Lisa's help, I am starting to "get it" and highly recommend Lisa's talents to help one achieve an artful design in a small space.

Island Dream Kitchens

Lisa Grewar was able to translate her clients wishes into an actionable construction and design for small and seemingly awkward space to make a functional project. In our case, we were able to collaborate and produce an aesthetically pleasing and functional office space including some much needed local storage and a handsome matching barn door. Lisa was adept at ensuring the objectives were met and the design was practical yet functional. A great collaboration. Mike
