Atelier 616 did a wonderful job of updating our sunroom, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Our finished space is gorgeous. Sophisticated but still comfortable and practical enough to house a family with two teenage boys, 3 cats and a dog. They also really did a good job of melding the differing styles of my husband and me. He loves a graphic, streamlined look, while for me, the more prints and fabric, the better. We're thrilled and highly recommend.

I have had the pleasure of working with Alexa on several of her New York city projects. She is always wonderful to work with. As an interior designer myself, I know the value and importance of hiring the right individual for the job. She is extremely knowledgeable in her field of expertise, and always gives 110 percent to her clients to ensure complete and total satisfaction. I can absolutely recommend her without hesitation.

I have worked with Alexis for several years now, she is one of the most talented & truly professional people I have ever had the pleasure of allowing in my life. She knows her job backwards. Alexa was an absolute pleasure to work with! She was extremely consultative and quickly sought to understand my style and needs right from the start. She provided virtual consultations via FaceTime during the Covid-19 quarantine period and she didn’t miss a beat! Our virtual meetings were very focused and just as effective as being in person. She was extremely flexible, speaking on nights and weekends, and helped me with paint, tile and lighting consultations, including some sourcing and sending samples. Now I’ve got all the design elements I need to start the project as soon as shelter-in-place restrictions are lifted. I’m so glad I found Alexa!

I found Alexa Kazim of Atelier 616 Interiors, LLC through Houzz and after speaking to her briefly on the phone, I realized that she was exactly who I wanted to hire for my condo renovation. She was a very good listener and immediately understood my wants and needs. I was a bit apprehensive working with a designer at first because I was budget conscious but she quickly relieved my worries with her keen assessment of my concerns. I initially worked with her on a color consultation of the entire condo. She walked through the space and assessed the lighting and spatial area of the rooms. At that time, I had a new grandchild that was due to arrive in a few months and she told me about an ecofriendly paint that we should use. The colors that she suggested complemented each area perfectly and I receive such praise from visitors to my home. We then worked on redesigning my living room and dining room. I had a few paintings from my previous home that I loved but had a hard time trying to figure out what to do with them in my new condo. I was so happy when she came up with a design that incorporated my past with a new and fresh industrial look that I was looking for in my new home. Through this process, I have found that Alexa has been a constant professional as well as hard working, smart, creative, patient, funny, and just a pleasure to work with throughout. I still have a few more items to renovate in our condo, including a kitchen and a bath and I look forward to working with Alexa and using her vast knowledge of design concept to create my dream home.

Alexa Kazim is an exceptional designer. I had not worked with a designer before, so I was somewhat apprehensive before reaching out to her. It was a terrific experience, and the results were even better than I had imagined. Working with Alexa took the stress out of our renovation. After getting our feedback and expertly honing in on our needs, she created the design concept, selected the materials, and worked with the contractors to get the job done. She listened to what we requested and anticipated our wishes and needs even when we didn’t know what we wanted. Alexa was very professional and a pleasure to work with. I worked with her for a a color consultation for our whole home. She took the time to understand what I wanted which was an unconventional mix of colors and neutrals and helped me create a beautiful color scheme for the house. I worked with Alexa to renovate a small condo in Queens. Because of its size, my goal was to create an open airy place and to maximize storage. From the start, Alexa had great ideas on those concepts and she worked tirelessly to achieve these goals. Alexa is a true professional. She listened to my ideas and worked to accommodate my ideas, my likes, my needs and my budget. She wore many hats, from dealing with the sales people in the stores to dealing with the contractors. She didn't complain when I changed my mind and worked nights and weekends to accommodate my schedule. She acted as a liaison with the contractors when I didn't like their work and with the vendors when they delivered the wrong product. The end product is exactly what I wanted and more. It's a very comfortable and beautiful space. I couldn't have done it without Alexa!

Thrilled with the project. Alexa has great instincts, was very budget-conscious, and organized and results-focused, and drove compromise on what I learned were my husband and my wildly divergent tastes. Its been a pleasure working with her and I wholeheartedly recommend her.

My husband and I recently purchased an old house that needed some work. We hired Alexa Kazim of Atelier 616 Interiors to design a new kitchen and oversee its renovation, as well as to create a design for the entire first floor (powder room, living room, dining room and sunroom). Since this was our first time, we were nervous about working with an interior designer. Alexa immediately put us at ease. She is professional, hard-working, efficient, and uber-smart as well as being a lovely person and a complete pleasure to work with. We were clueless, but Alexa guided us through the fairly extensive kitchen renovation every step of the way. She listened to our thoughts and opinions and at times gently nudged us in the direction she felt would best suit our needs, our style and the character of the home. Though at times we had doubts about her selections, we were never disappointed -- in fact, we were amazed. She drew up and executed the plan for a warm, inviting, beautiful kitchen that feels large and open and functions nicely, with plenty of cabinet and counter space. We wanted Alexa to be very hands-on, and she was. She expertly coordinated the various phases of the renovation with the general contractor, painter and other service providers. We joked that she could be the GC on the job, and in fact she probably could have been. Aside from having superb style sense, she is extremely knowledgeable about plumbing, appliances and all things house-related, which was a definite plus. In creating the design for the remainder of our first floor, Alexa was extremely mindful of our two main concerns – our limited budget and the need for a pet-friendly home. She used a mix of new furniture that was both beautiful and reasonably priced and our existing furniture, which she had slipcovered/upholstered/painted. The blend of the old and the new is seamless – we hardly recognize our old furniture anymore because it looks so fabulous. Alexa was especially diligent about making certain that all of the furniture and fabrics she used are durable and resistant to our cats’ claws, which is no easy task. She has an extensive knowledge of fabrics, as well as other materials such as tile, blinds, lighting fixtures, and architectural hardware, and a remarkable knack for putting them all together beautifully. And she is terrific with color, helping us to select a color palette that truly showcases the architectural details of our home. Alexa surprised us with some lovely finishing touches -- accent pieces that reflect our taste and truly take the design to the next level. The finished product is a home that we are thrilled with every time we walk in the door – it is an elegant yet entirely comfortable space that functions perfectly for the two of us on a daily basis but is also ideal for entertaining our large family and friends. We are thrilled! We cannot recommend Alexa highly enough. We will definitely work with her again on future projects.

We were so impressed by Alexa's design talent, her broad knowledge base and attention to detail. I really appreciated her thoughtful solutions throughout the projects. She introduced us to design ideas that we would never have thought of but have greatly enhanced our spaces. She found beautiful items at different price points so we had choices that fit our budget. Alexa has excellent relationships with vendors and trade people often saving us money while still getting high quality results, It was very impressive watching Alexa work with our general contractor. For example, when our contractor said it was not possible to put in a built in recessed shelf in our newly tiled shower, Alexa respectfully but persistently worked with him to find a solution. Within a short time, the contractor was totally engaged in looking for options that would be both beautiful and functional. The shelf was installed and our newly designed bathroom looks amazing. Alexa really helped build my confidence in making decisions from tile selections, furniture and lighting decisions. She also shopped with me which was fun and incredibly helpful. Before working with Alexa, I was easily overwhelmed when shopping and often came home empty handed. Now I am more confident in selecting pieces and more flexible in my approach to design. My husband and I love coming home to newly upholstered seating, gorgeous lighting that totally transformed the space, and the many other enhancements that Alexa made happen. Alexa made the renovation process significantly easier for us by taking time to understand our needs and tastes (even when we were not sure what we wanted), She is highly organized and this makes her not only efficient but also invaluable during a renovation. She took the time to understand our goals, and helped us make decisions quickly when we were overwhelmed by the design process. Alexa developed multiple designs that were gorgeous, and responsive to our organizational needs. She found budget-friendly products that transformed our pool deck to an airy, serene, and uplifting place to swim. She consistently met and exceeded our tight deadlines. As a community-based organization, we had a tight budget that only allowed for her design services. She worked within these parameters and developed a tight plan for our installation team to follow--outlining elements with an amazing level of detail--even specifying paint products. We were struck by how much easier she made the process for us with her excellent eye for color, broad knowledge of materials, and meticulous attention to detail. We were so pleased with her work, that we expanded the project to several other areas. She took them all on with equal enthusiasm and care. Her design concepts have made our spaces feel contemporary and look timeless. Members and staff alike rave about how these areas now have a warm, inviting feel. Alexa is a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend her for any residential or commercial project.

Moving into a new apartment, I engaged Alexa Kazim at Atelier 616 for a paint consultation and I am thrilled with the results. Alexa took great consideration in her color selections - taking space usage, sunlight + window orientation as well as other elements into account. Her eco + pet-friendly recommendations (a must for me) moved me a little out of my comfort zone to incorporate vibrant colors. While the palette suggested was consistent with my vision, it was also trendier + more sophisticated then I would have ever been able to come up with on my own. I love it! More importantly, everyone who has visited comments on the great colors. During our consultation, Alexa also offered several ideas to elevate the design + functionality of the space - which was a great bonus.

I was concerned about hiring a designer, but knew that I did not have the time to make my home the beautiful and comfortable haven that I wanted. Working with Alexa has been a real pleasure, she is talented and hard-working. She listens to my wishes and makes them even better than I had imagined. I first hired Alexa for space planning. She reconfigured my basement to create a functional kitchen, a pleasant dining space, and an exciting entertainment space. Her sketches helped my contractor create a space that greatly enhances my family's lifestyle. She met with my contractor and guided me in repurposing existing pieces. My teenage kids rave about the newly redesigned space, and we spend more time together as a family. I got more than I expected in hiring Alexa, and have named her "my designer for life"! Alexa finds elegant, timeless furnishings and her access to trade only sources ensures that my pieces are one of a kind. She created a focal point in my home that is the topic of conversation for all who visit. Speaking of unique pieces, she also does custom cabinetry design and window treatments. She created a fabulous window treatment for me that has transformed those spaces so much that I hope to do new window treatments throughout my home. I would be remiss if I did not mention that Alexa made sure my project was ready for the holidays, even after a storm incapacitated the region. She was in constant contact with the vendors, and made sure they did what it took to get my room ready for our Thanksgiving celebration. I am so thankful for Alexa's exquisite taste. I have been thrilled with her results, and feel so happy and comfortable in my home now that she has made such transformative changes. I can actually say that I love to stay home and enjoy my elegant, stylish surroundings. I still have work to do in my home, but now that I can count on Alexa's guidance, I look forward to the joy of redecorating my home--not to mention the wonderful results!

I just signed my first full time office lease. The space was beautiful but small and presented challenges especially with lighting. I wanted to create an inviting,comfortable space for my clients but had only vague ideas on how to do this. It needed to be done quickly with minimal hassles. I was nervous about hiring an interior designer but am so glad I did. Alexa walked me through everything (the floor plans, design elements, even shopping with me to get a sense of my taste). I was really impressed that Alexa took time to explain basic design concepts and to encourage me to have fun and trust my judgement. She was great at mixing higher and lower priced pieces to fit my budget. Alexa's goal was that I had the office I wanted. Actually looking forward to updating my home with Alexa's help.
