Extremely knowledgable, professional, Barbara listens, asks questions and then delivers spectacular design ideas in keeping with our hopes and dreams. She has a great eye and we’re glad we listened to her! Helpful throughout the entire project, communicated daily with the contractor to maintain the flow after construction started. The whole process went smoothly and she kept us informed throughout. Barbara is a stickler for detail, environmental consciousness and simplicity. She took our living space to the next level. In the end, it looked like a brand new home. We’re still in awe and would recommend her for anyone ready to transform their home.

I worked with Barbara Schwarz of Avec Interiors to completely gut and rebuild my primary bathroom with an updated, yet timeless design complementing 1920’s Spanish architecture, and I am so glad I found her. I had never hired a designer before and knew I needed professional help to successfully navigate this complex construction project. The final result was spectacular. Barbara really listened to me and delivered everything I asked for with skill and creative flair. I enjoyed collaborating with her on the journey from initial ideas, through creating detailed plans, and then navigating the construction process as the 2D plans became 3D reality. She solved significant space planning issues in the long and skinny space, presented beautiful tile, fixture and lightning options within my budget, and took the time to educate me about the process every step of the way. She’s a straight shooter and I recommend her wholeheartedly.

Our family did an extensive home remodel this past year, and Barbara was recommended to us to help make designing choices (and overall vision!) easier. I have found Barbara to be extremely knowledgeable with valuable design experience to back up her work. She does an excellent job making sure each space is personal to the client. Her attention to detail shows clearly in her work. When I think of a designer who has the ability of combine warm, modern, and unique elements for a space, I think of Barbara.

Barbara Schwarz designed my nine-year-old daughter's bedroom, turning the small, dull, overcrowded space into a KID'S PARADISE. Her innovative ideas miraculously turned the room into a place my child never wants to leave. The room now has a bright, creative and fun atmosphere with several areas for kids to play, read or hide out. The great thing about Barbara is that she took the time to listen to what my daughter had to say and let that inspire her. Barbara also gave us options, so we were a part of the creative process from start to finish. The results were phenomenal.

We two found ourselves renovating an architecturally designed mid-century modern home. Through our contractor Alan Wedner we found Barbara and we are so glad we did as both our sensibilities were more traditional in scope. In other words we had no love or experience in the modern style. Barbara guided us through every detail which, as we chose along the way became our own style. With Barbara's guidance and patience we were able to combine the eclectic with our new mid-century modern vision to create a beautiful new environment which is now our home. Barbara helped us visualize each space by her beautiful drawings. Her attention to detail is amazing and her transparent billing for items is a big help for those on a budget. She also has great communication skills. We definitely would use Barbara again but I think we are never going to move!

We hired Barbara to work with us on the remodel design of our patio and kitchen. She helped us to convert our back yard, which consisted of grassy areas and a large fallow garden area to a beautiful outdoor space that includes a patio with complete amenities, "living room" area, dining area, gas grill, heaters, pergola and shades; along with a large garden area with raised beds. We then moved inside where she turned our old claustrophobic dysfunctional kitchen into a fantastic work space that supports all our needs. From the very first meeting with Barbara to the completion, she was a pleasure to work with. She focuses on getting to know the client and designing a space that supports who you are and how you live. We love the work she did for us. I have recommended her to friends or colleagues repeatedly since she did the work for us.
