Since its inception in 2011, Bakamis Design Group has become synonymous with bold, layered interiors that are at once polished and personality-packed. The firm offers a holistic approach, carefully considering the intersection between architecture, art, and functionality. Through an exploration of color, print, pattern and texture, founder and principal Lisa Bakamis connects her projects to an overarching narrative and experience, bringing her clients’ visions to life. She has mastered the art of design mixology, thoughtfully pushing creative boundaries and pairing unexpected styles and genres to unveil an eclectic, highly customized finished product. Lisa’s penchant for playful design touchpoints and evocative conversation pieces creates a sense of elevated comfort, equal parts relaxed and refined. Lisa’s enthusiasm for design was groomed while studying art, theater and interior design at SF State. She then worked her way through the design ranks, flourishing under mentor Shelley Cahan and then with Green Couch Staging before launching her own business. Lisa is a true chameleon- in both her personal and professional life- with a myriad of inspirational sources and hobbies including vintage shopping, travel, fashion, singing and outdoor adventure. She lives in Lake Tahoe with her husband and two children and enjoys working on design projects throughout all of Northern California.
