Julie and her team at Brownhouse are my go to both for commercial projects and residential. Her imaginative vision, creative talent and commitment to getting it exactly right, on time and on budget are a dream. You will not be disappointed.

Definitely would not recommend Julie Brown. She scammed, overcharged and went dark on our planning process as well as over a handful of others I’ve talked to. Most recently she overcharged her architects hours by 50%. She will tell a good story but she’s not legit. Doesn’t care who she screws over.

I had an extremely frustrating experience with this interior designer. After paying for her services upfront, she failed to complete the project as agreed. What's worse, when confronted about the work, she refused to provide a full refund and showed a complete lack of concern for our business. Her unprofessional behavior and disregard for client satisfaction are unacceptable. I cannot recommend her services to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy interior designer. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for your design needs.

Julie and her team are pretty amazing - a special shout out to Dave B! Brownhouse worked with me on a whole-house remodel in Mountain View. They presented design options, lined up engineering support, managed and advised on contractor bids, steered us on key materials and finishes decisions and saved us a ton of time while making sure we ended up with a beautiful finished home that maximized our living space. I chose Julie because she impressed me with the range of styles and influences she could represent, the open discussion and frank feedback she gave me in our consultation and because she understands how homes in my area are evolving to meet current design trends and lifestyle needs. Brownhouse is flexible in how they engage - they will do as much or as little as you need. For instance, I asked for support picking tiles, but was prepared to go check stores on my own for other things. The team is very organized and efficient. I left every meeting feeling productive and that Brownhouse had made our project better. At every stage she and her team were timely (or better) with their deliverables and Julie really helped when I was in a pinch with our six foot square quartz slab. She worked the phones, found a replacement and was willing to drop everything to fix a construction screw up. Julie and her team worked hard to do a great job that I get to live with every day. Julie and Brownhouse Design have been great colleagues on over a dozen projects that we have mutually worked on.
