We were flooded by Harvey August 27, 2017. Needed assistance in redoing the complete interior of the house, everything had to be ripped out due to water damage, and working with the contractor. Erika helped us in choosing replacement cabinets, countertops, tile, flooring, paint colors, plumbing and ceiling fans/lighting fixtures, door hardware, and other interior items. She relayed this all to the contractor. Could not have gotten through the process without her.

Erika was a joy to work with - she was very helpful and after several meetings she really picked up on my style preferences. She helped me with everything for my new home. We recently remodeled our house and Ayca helped us to pick our window treatments. Working with Ayca was a great experience. She provided a lot more options and flexibility that what we have seen from other designers. She is very professional and knowledgeable about different products. She was very helpful to select right products and very flexible with time. Came to our house on weekends to accommodate our needs. There was an unfortunate mistake with one of the products and she took full responsibility without any questioning and she replaced it with the right color immediately. If you are looking for someone with wealth of knowledge Ayca is the person to call. She is kind, patient, responsible and very trustworthy.

Our project actually started April 2017, although the design and scoping part started earlier. We worked with Ashton and without her help, we would not have ended up with the awesome results we have! We remodeled our entire 2 story house, top to bottom, including a gut of our utility, kitchen and master bath. Ashton worked with our contractor and his employees and subs on an almost daily basis during the actual demo and construction phase, which was about 3.5 months total. We had worked with another decorator previously on furnishings and other details, and they had pegged our style as "Transitional". While we liked the result, when we decided to do the full remodel we felt like we really wanted to be more on the soft side of contemporary. We like light and light colors with contrast, and Aston was able to pick up on this quickly and steer us in the right directions - not easy because my wife and I see colors and textures differently (no, I am not color blind! :+) ) We even asked Ashton to help us pick a shade/color to repaint the exterior of our house, and she nailed it! Her color choices were always the right ones - she has a great eye for colors and textures, down to the details. We ended up replacing most of our furnishings and window treatments as well, which is why the project has really only recently ended! We loved what Ashton was doing so much we just kept going! The result of our remodel and redecoration is a house we love being in that is stylish, beautiful, functional and comfortable, and which gets immediate "wows" when folks come in, including our "spa" master bath and beautiful and relaxing master bedroom. Ashton communicates well and promptly and was always there when we needed quick answers on design changes, colors, etc. Easily the best decorator we have worked with for our style and taste, and those to whom we have recommended her have been equally as pleased. We highly recommend Ashton and By Design!

My husband and I recently downsized from 3,500 sq ft to only 1900 sq ft and felt overwhelmed with all of our "stuff" and where to put it. We have been working with Ayca the past several months to update our home. Her design expertise and easy going demeanor are a calming influence for us as we tend to struggle with design decisions. We have been working with Ayca for over a year. We first started talking with her when we were about to buy a new house and she was going to help us decorate. Ashton Morgan is a fabulous designer. She has helped me with so many things in my home. I met her when she was an assistant for another designer at By Design Interiors. She was working her way up and then when she was taking her own clients I used her because she made the design process easy for me to make decisions and she was so good at it. She is marvelously creative, patient, and a lot of fun to work with. She has helped in all the rooms of my house and even my kids loved working with her on their bedrooms. They thought she was really hip and liked her style. After working with her for several years she feels like family to me! I can't say enough good things about her! I worked with Ayca Stiffel recently to update our home. It takes a certain eye to be able to pull a room together and make it look fabulous and functional, all at the same time. Our existing furniture needed a new updated look, she brought exciting fabrics, and new furniture, rugs and etc., to accomplish a new trendy look. Ayca used the effects of color and the correct use of my accessories to create a cozy, comfortable environment for everyday living. Her willingness to work with you and desire to meet your deadlines is a plus when hiring an interior designer.

Ayca at By Design has been wonderful! She helped get our bathroom remodel tiles, layout, and colors all picked to perfection. Also Ayca helped us with drapes in both the study and game room and furniture pieces in those rooms too. We still have more decorating to do and certainly will have Ayca help. Ayca Stiffel was an absolute pleasure to work with on desiging my restaurant. She openly accepts client ideas, communicates in a timely manner, brings creative and innovative ideas/solutions to the table, stays within budget both from a time and monetary sense. Our custom home builder contract included a set number of hours with By Design Interiors. From my first meeting with designer Erika Barczak I was impressed. We had emailed a few times regarding color schemes and overall design style I was wanting and she had flooring, tiles and backsplash samples already grouped together when I arrived. Erika's vision and designs were so in tune with mine it made the year long process of building a custom home seamless. She has a wonderful easy personality, organized and very creative. Erika Barczak at By Design Interiors worked with us from concept through completion of our custom built luxury home (2013-2015). Once she understood the look and feel we wanted in our home, she worked diligently with us to satisfy that look, and excelled in every way imaginable. There is so much stress in making all the decisions about a custom home and she made it easy for us with indoor/outdoor colors, stonework, patio pavers, roofing, indoor/outdoor furniture, wall art, flooring, rugs and carpet, cabinet design, tile design, shutters, lighting fixtures, florals, plumbing fixtures, window decorations, decorative items, cabinet hardware, etc. Pricing of furnishings through By Design was typically better than on our own, and they handled everything, quickly resolving inevitable problems with suppliers. The results were spectacular and the trust we had in By Design was well deserved. Very highly recommend By Design Interiors and Erika Barczak.

We gutted our kitchen and two bathrooms and a powder room and had wood floors installed in the entire downstairs. In kitchen and all bathrooms, we installed new cabinets, granite counter tops, all new appliances and new bathroom tubs, toilets and fixtures. In addition, we had a new bar installed in the Family Room. Erika was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with the selection of all the product options and colors. She thought of every detail including wallpaper, tile, paint, lighting fixtures and color selections. She was extremely helpful with tile selection and design. We are very happy with the remodel and we have received many compliments. We're now having Erika help us with new window treatments and other decorative accessories. It has all turned out beautiful and we feel like we are in a new home.

Erika assisted us in two areas: 1) updating our old home to help it sell and 2) handling all the interior design for our new 5,500 square foot custom build home (a 14 month build project). She was able to take our existing furniture, art, etc. and outline where we could best use it in the new home, as well as determine where we needed new furniture/ artwork. She went with us and coordinated all home selections - floors, lighting, hardware, granite, paint, window treatments, etc.. She narrowed the choices in all areas, knowing our likes/dislikes, which was a tremendous help to me, as I was still working at the time. Our old house had multiple offers in 2 weeks. Our new home is a beautiful showplace. Erika coordinated all rooms, including the outside areas, and created harmony and beauty from a variety of "styles" we had accumulated over the years. She is the only professional in our build project that stayed on budget!! She worked diligently to create beautiful spaces while always being budget conscious. She turned our vision of our new home into a reality - to include some unique areas such as a stained glass window over the tub and a private patio off the Master. She spent hours going "above and beyond" such as arranging all the books in our Library and creating a wall of family pictures. We HIGHLY recommend Erika and By Design Interiors.

I worked very closely with them on a master bathroom/bedroom and powder room remodel Erika worked her magic and came up with a design plan that was absolutely perfect. She listened to what we had to say and she put together tile, granite, flooring, paint, wallpaper that just matched all our preconceived ideas. Very professional and very good at what she does.

We were absolutely pleased with Erika Barczak's redesign of our master bathroom. We hit it off with her immediately, and she was able to visualize what would be the best options for the space AND make it beautiful, as well as turning it into a plan for the contractor. She was efficient in her use of time and yet I never felt rushed. Her sense of what materials, fixtures and colors would be best to meet our needs and our budget was always perfect. I would not change a thing, and we are completely and utterly blown away with how beautiful our bathroom is every time we step into it. We did a complete remodel and addition to a 30 year old home on 10 acres. Erika was a tremendous help in finding the right pieces to fit in the new rooms. She is very professional and has a special way of working with people.

Mary Blair brought the home of our dreams to reality. When we moved into a new 5400 sq. ft. home, we decided to start from scratch with furnishings and décor. We knew the look and feel we wanted, but no specifics. She quickly discerned our style and tastes and created a home we love living in. Mary selected furniture, lighting, rugs, wall art, mirrors, florals, and accessories, and designed window treatments and custom bedding. She also brought in artisans to paint walls, a mural, and faux-finish two ceilings. At every step, she showed us options and made her recommendations, but always left the final decision to us. We never felt pressured, criticized, or rushed. Mary is extremely gifted in design, and is very professional in her work. She handpicks the vendors and tradesmen she uses, and we were always delighted with their products and work. She is efficient with time-management and oversees every aspect of the project to completion. Mary works tirelessly, with attention to the last detail. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Mary and are thrilled with the results!

Our family was relocated to Houston, TX last year. We decided to build our "dream" home and thought best to engage an interior designer to help us achieve our vision. I found BDI via Internet by complete chance and Erika Barczak was the best thing that happened to us! Our taste is fairly unconventional for Texas as in we like a more modern look instead of traditional and Erika totally got us and understood our vision. She was with us from the beginning of the house building project. She gave us extremely valuable advice at the builder's design center and that has been ongoing. Erika executed our vision to perfection. We love our home and its thanks to Erika:)

I would recommend Cindy in a heartbeat. We basically "gutted" our first floor. Cindy helped with ALL the creative design of the rebuild as well as other ideas. She had a good feel for what I liked and what the trend is and yet could persuade me to take a "risk". She made all the decisions easy by making suggested preselections yet keeping within our pricepoint. There is no way our home would be as beautiful without her (and it would have taken me days and days to make decisions on my own... probably would never have finished this project.)

We are very pleased with the work that Mary did. We love everything but we did go over budget so we did not get as many rooms done as we would have liked.

Mary Blair, my interior decorator is awesome! Her vision and hard work have provided us with the home of our dreams. She started working with us on the construction phase of our new home and followed it through with us as we decorated and furnished it. She met her deadlines and her selections were all "top notch" quality items. When people enter our home they "oooww " and " ahhh" at everything from our exterior and interior stone work to the smaller assessory pieces. I would highly recommend Mary to anyone who is in need of a talented professional. We certainly appreciate her talent and dedication to a "job well done!"
