About Us

CDB Interiors is a full-service Interior Design company specializing in residential and commercial design working with single adults, empty-nesters, young families and commercial clients. Cheryl Baker, the Principal, is inspired by beauty and design, however the fuel behind her passion is the development of relationships. We believe great design hinges on an understanding of people and how they want to live and work in their home or office. This requires much more than just design experience. Our Mission is centered around livable spaces that are beautiful and reflective of each client's aesthetic and vision. A home is an intimate space and as such a collaborative relationship between the design firm and the client is crucial to a successful project.

Cheryl feels like a partner, not a vendor, in the design and decoration of my home. She is delightful to work with and truly listens to my description of how we use the space. For example, I need durable furniture and inexpensive rugs because I have pets and kids. Cheryl helped me find the perfect furniture which looks great in the room. Her advice about colors (paint, upholstery fabric, etc.) is spot-on. She makes the process seem easy because she has the right academic qualifications, an easy going personality and years of professional experience.

Cheryl helped us after the devastation of Houston Harvey flood. Our whole first floor had to be redone. As two teachers, the price-tag of a remodel was staggering and overwhelming. Cheryl listened to our needs, our wants, and our lifestyle. She took all that information and came back with a design that we loved and ideas to help our budget. She answered all of our concerns, ensured we understood the big picture, and made the project fun. She troubleshooted any issues with the construction project, ensured the quality of the project was met, and communicated at all times. Her attention to detail is fantastic. Cheryl incorporated new item ideas, items we already owned and were able to save, and family heirlooms to create a great look that fit our personalities. We could never have done this on our own. Cheryl's creativity, professionalism, and expertise in design is top notch! We will use her again for any future projects and gladly recommend her to friends.

I am so pleased with the work that Cheryl has done for us to date. She listens well to what I am trying to accomplish and works within our budget. She has a great eye for color. We started with redecorating our new "spa" bathroom and guest bathroom. She has repositioned existing accessories in my living areas. She has guided me in selecting new rugs. What does a designer do when they need help with their own home? They call Cheryl. And that's just what I did when I was considering a huge exterior renovation on my home. It was such a relief to talk to someone who thoroughly understands the subtleties of color, texture, materials and architectural styles. Cheryl's keen eye and extensive renovation experience gave me the confidence to go forward with a design that would dramatically enhance my home's curb appeal using common building materials to deliver uncommon pizzaz.
