We've worked with Cecilie Starin on several projects over the years; her vision, professionalism and attention to detail is always apparent, making our job as a builder easier. Her versatility and range of ideas she's able to produce for clients are both creative and beautiful.

I had the opportunity to see Cecilie transform an empty room into a work of art for the 2015 SF Decorator Showcase. Her interest in street art was inspiration for her exquisitely designed dining room. The finished room mixes bold blacks and golds with luxurious furniture. Every detail works together perfectly with the hand painted murals, including hand-thrown bowls and plates. Working with Cecilie was easy and fun, she is adventurous and decisive, and a true collaborator. Her enthusiasm is infectious and you will want to be involved with any project she has dreamt up.

I have worked with Cecilie for many years and she's one of my favorite designers. She has superb taste and the interiors she creates range from traditional to eclectic to modern. But regardless of the period, her interiors are gorgeous, livable and always unique. I couldn't recommend her more highly. I have worked with Cecilie on numerous projects and thoroughly enjoy her style. She seems to have an endless supply of ideas, and I could easily live in an room she designs. We are currently working on a project with Cecilie, we selected her because of her vast design experience and background, her extraordinary sense of style, as well as her professional and pleasant easy to work with manner. Her years of training as an artist and fashion designer, in my opinion give her an edge as an interior designer. She has helped us define our personal styles and tastes and has keep us focused, she asked a lot of questions to understand our needs and is very upfront to give her opinion and recommendations while still trying to create a custom design plan that works for us within our budget.

Cecilie has helped to make our home more beautiful on a number of design projects. She is the only designer that has worked on our house. She is incredibly respectful of the needs of my family, and she was creative, responsive and warm. I like the fact that she responds quickly and thoughtfully to questions and concerns.

Each year a California Marin estate of architectural significance is selected to both inspire designers and amaze guests and while the unique requirements of assembling design teams are never easy, it is doubly so when you have a premier property in a premier location listed at 45 million dollars. Cecilie and her team were invited among an extraordinary cadre of designers to participate in the 2012 Marin Designers Showcase without hesitation. Her vision for the space was worldly, intelligent and retained a chic aesthetic but with a few fun nods to old world coastal charm. The overall design proposal worked well with her modern riff that the selection committee loved and knew was also required to make sense with the direction of the overall project. Juxtaposed to the much more contemporary architecture, her concept stood out immediately. She respected both sides of the projects developing themes while honoring the process. Her vision and lux sensibility resonated beautifully with the location and became one of many favorites for attendees of the 2012 estate "Villa Belvedere". Cecilie’s team managed time and tasks with great skill that left no detail uncovered. Ultimately, Cecilie’s vision delivered for the 2012 Marin Designers Showcase project, delivered for the charity and further highlighted the spirit of doing your best under extremes for a shared cause. I applaud her efforts in helping to make a difference in the grander scheme of things, but also for her willingness to lend her support; financial resources and considerable talents to a charity fundraising event that I hope will remain a constant in an era of enduring philanthropy by design. I hired Ceclie Starin to redecorate a rather drab and boring living room in our house in San Francisco. Cecilie was able to identify my taste quickly and presented me with ideas that I would never have been able to focus on without her help. The room is now exciting, relaxing and fun. It's become my favorite room and it where my husband and I escape to whenever we can. Cecilie also came up with a great idea for our kitchen table-a white Corian table with metal legs-it really standout in the kitchen and makes quite a statement. I would certainly recommend Ceclie to anyone.

I hired Cecilie to help me redecorate my 2BD/2BA condo in San Francisco. I found her by attending the San Francisco Showcase House and realized very quickly that her sense of style was what I was looking for. From the start, Cecilie took time to listen to my likes and dislikes and came up with a plan that I liked immediately. Because I trusted her judgment so well, I ended up expanding the project from a redesign of a couple rooms to a redesign of the entire place. She has an artist's eye and has a keen sense of keeping the design to be cohesive with the architecture of the building. After 18-24 months of carefully selecting furniture, fabrics and accessories, I ended up with a completely breathtaking residence that I often want to show off. It's been about 3-4 years since the project was completed and I still keep in touch with Cecilie. She is enjoyable to be around and I am happy we remain friends.
