Charla Ray Interior Design

My experience with Charla Ray, begins with my wife introducing me to a designer she was seeking help with as we remodeled Our home. I am a General Contractor with close to 40 years of experience in Commercial construction, primarily large multifamily projects. I have worked with a multitude of Architects, Engineers, Consultants and Designers over the years. For our personal home teardown and reconstruct I was the contractor and was happy to hand off interior finishes to my wife and her "Charla Ray". As we got deeper into the remodel work we brought Charla in for more and more of design and finish selection assistance, ultimately guiding us the finish line with inferior finishes, fixtures selection as well as some furniture consolation. I got to experience first hand, Charla's talents and keen eye for detail during the finish of our personal home. My wife and I were completely satisfied with our experience with Charla, So much, that I have introduced Charla and her talents to developer clients of mine in my professional world of General Contracting. Charla understand schedule needs, as well and the needs to work within a budget. It is easy to recommend a hard working, talented individual and a pleasure to do so, Charla is a hands on, sole proprietor that will impress you with her work ethics and talents with colors, products, textures and finishes.

When building our home after a disastrous fire, we hired Charla to guide us through the entire design process and construction, followed by the complete selection of interior furnishings and soft goods. I had many ideas and inspirations that I discussed with Charla as we collaborated to create a cohesive design throughout our home that reflected my husband’s and my tastes and lifestyle. Charla skillfully guided me throughout the process by providing both plans and elevations, showing everything from tile designs to furniture layouts. She also shared numerous “like this” pictures from Houzz, pointing out specific details of countertop edge profiles, cabinetry hardware placement, millwork details, etc. She reviewed samples with me of every tile, wood, stone, paint, wall covering, and fabric, providing two or three options for each selection, and was always open to my feedback which helped me feel comfortable and confident with the countless decisions I had to make in order to keep up with the rapid pace of construction. Charla has an incredible eye for detail and was great with the design aspect. But she was also very astute in managing the detail-heavy procurement of products and materials for our project. I enjoyed working with Charla and have recommended her to friends and family.

We hired Charla Ray initially to help us update our living room furniture. We quickly found out that her expertise goes way beyond furniture selection. Before choosing Charla for our project, we had talked to several "decorators" and they seemed to all have a set style none of which seemed to blend with our ideas at all. Charla had the unique ability to listen to our ideas and started formulating a plan that incorporated some of our unique art, accessory and furniture pieces along with her ideas and she got the whole project to come together in a spectacular fashion. Once the living room was done, we found her skills so helpful that we continued onto a large portion of the rest of the house updating the 17-year-old look. We found Charla adept with lighting, plumbing fixtures, bedding design, paint and wallpaper, granite, art selection and window coverings. She was careful to work within our budget and offered many cost saving ideas. She was also great at figuring out furniture arrangements in those "tough rooms". One of her glowing assets was that she was not overbearing, but had a knack for not only working with our ideas but was able to bring her own impeccable style to the whole project. Charla's timeliness and organizational skills were also above and beyond our expectations. We have been totally pleased with her professionalism and have referred her to other friends who have likewise used her for projects.

Charla Ray designed and managed the complete remodel of our kitchen as well as lighting and furniture in other rooms. She is professional and maintained open and clear communication throughout the project. Her knowledge of design introduced us to innovative concepts and products to create a unique look. She wanted the project to reflect our personalities and tastes and spent time getting to know us to insure our home fit our needs and the result is a beautiful home that reflects our lifestyle. I will be using Charla Ray Interior Design for a bathroom remodel in the future and look forward to working with her again.
