Christina Van Blake at HOME

Christina is a prominent designer serving the Maine and NH Seacoast area for over 22 years. She has been awarded both the Rising Star Award and Gold Spirit Award for her work with Portsmouth, Ethan Allen. In May of 2018, Christina started her own business - HOME offering the same great service with a broader selection of furnishings, decor and design services. Christina truly enjoys her work, her clients and design of all kinds. Her enthusiasm for the art of this business ensures each client fully understands the options and choices, why they work and how they reflect their personal taste with the end result being a carefully curated space that feels uniquely personal and beautifully functional. Christina graduated with a BFA in Design from Savannah College of Art & Design and currently holds 3 degrees in Art & Design. Her specialties in color, pattern and texture come from 3 generations of designing women. Christina owned Decor by Design from 1995-2003 creating beautiful wall finishes before transitioning to Interior Design full-time. Christina's clients range from local home owners needing a new sofa or chair to large scale new construction projects requiring everything from floor to ceiling as well as real estate agents & developers needing an on-call design professional. She has traveled as far as VT for design projects and often works with long distance clients via email. Christina has mastered the understanding of the extensive options and details of fine wood and upholstered furniture construction and composition. She has designed simple and elaborate window treatments of all styles. Selected fabric, carpets, area rugs and accessories to fulfill the design style. She also has extensive product knowledge of Hunter Douglas shades, blinds and shutters. In 2009 she began Design it Forward offering free design services in exchange for 3 charitable acts. This idea went international and Christina was featured in numerous magazine, newspaper and television publications; the highlight of which was being invited as a key note speaker at the High Point Furniture Market in NC.
